I can't get rid of the MP3Tube toolbar that imposed itself.

The Mozilla Firefox Start Page was set as my default web access site. Two weeks ago, MP3Tube (powered by Yahoo) suddenly became the default page, and inserted its own toolbar. I can manually delete the toolbar each time the web page is accessed, but it always reappears. I can't find a way to delete this irritating toolbar once and for all. I have restored Mozilla Firefox as the default start page, but the MP3Tube toolbar is still there.

Every time I open Safari, I get a message (and a pop-up) that says the Safari browser I'm using does not support Community Toolbar. How can I get rid of the Community Toolbar or at least turn it off?

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    Library/Application support/conduit plugins
Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

  • How can I get rid of the Unwanted ads that are appearing in my e-mail display

What appears to be the first e-mail is actually an ad. If I click on it it takes me to a website that is trying to sell me something. I can't get rid of it.

I'm sorry, can you please respond with more information? I don't really understand your problem. Please try using another browser (Safari, Chrome) to do whatever you were doing. If the problem continues, then this refers to the website that you are connecting to.

  • How can I get rid of the personal toolbar which is always displayed

    Hi,
Just migrated from xp to win 8.1 on a new computer.
In the process of cleaning up my firefox bookmarks and personal bookmark folder I must have done a wrong manipulation.
My personal bookmark bar is now always visible across the top of the screen.
I just don't want this and want to get rid of that continuous display. What did I do wrong and how can I mend this?
    Thank you in advance,
    LL

    Hi,
You can hide that by following:
    *Click the orange Firefox button
*Go to View > Toolbars > and uncheck ''Bookmarks Toolbar''

  • The ad takes over and I can't get rid of the horrible voice that talks about electronic cigarettes! How do I kill it?

When I go to a bookmarked web page your ad page comes up. If I click it off it continues in the background. It is usually about an electronic cigarette. It continues forever. The only way I can get rid of it is to set my volume to mute. It is really annoying!

  • How can I get rid of the calendar icon that's showing on the top right of my screen?

I can't figure out why the calendar icon is only showing when locked? When I unlock it it's not telling me I've missed anything and the icon isn't there so I can't figure out where's it coming from to delete it. Help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Try a Battery Pull:
    1. Remove the battery while phone is turned on
    2. Wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. Allow the long boot up process to finish (takes a few minutes usually)
This clears most software issues that occur on blackberries from time to time. You could also use Quickpull, a free app that simulates a battery pull without physically removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull reclaims memory lost during application usage and clears minor software errors that creep in over time. The blackberry runs an OS just like your PC runs windows and the battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot/restart on your computer.

  • I can't get rid of the MP3 toolbar and I can't keep google instead of bing as my browser. Each time I correct it, it only lasts until I close Firefox. The next startup it reverts. Paul Sperry

I have tried right-clicking and removing the check mark next to the MP3 toolbar but it only lasts for that session. Yesterday I went into the settings and changed Bing for igoogle as my home page. today it's back to Bing. Help please.

  • How do I get rid of the new toolbar that was added by versions 20 and 21?

I have tried both versions 20 and 21 and both have the bugs below so I ended up having to re-install version 19:
1.) Versions 20 and 21 add a new toolbar that has nothing but a "Firefox" button on it - and no way to get rid of this toolbar is provided. It wastes far too much space on my laptop's screen - that button should have been put on one of the other toolbars or simply made part of the icon set that users can use to customize their menubar or other toolbars.
2.) That new toolbar is not customizable. Hence, I don't have the option of recovering screen space by moving everything from my menubar onto the new toolbar then hiding the menubar.
3.) The back, forward, and stop|reload buttons on my menubar no longer work. Moving them back to the navigation toolbar and showing that toolbar does not solve the problem. Nor can I right-click on a web page and select those functions from the context menu: they are permanently disabled there too.
4.) I can no longer right click on the menubar or a toolbar and get a context menu from which you I can pick a "customize" option - I can't get a context menu AT ALL. In order to customize things for versions 20 or 21, I first have to reinstall version 19, do the customizations, then reinstall version 20 or 21.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • What is a SIMPLE way I can get rid of the Bing toolbar that installed when I upgraded to Firefox 12?

I felt forced to upgrade to Firefox 12 a week or so ago because Firefox warned it would do it anyway. I most unhappy with the fact that when I type in a URL, it is in a Bing rather than Google search box. I did change the search box at the right back to Google, but I am stuck with Bing when I type in a URL and click on it. I find no Bing indicated in my Programs to uninstall on my computer. I can't override by installing Google toolbar again (my preference) because supposedly it's no longer compatible. :-(
    What to do?

Do you mean searching via the location bar or via the about:home default Home page?
    Try:
If it is a problem with the about:home page then try to reset the search engine used on the about:home page.
Reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.
    * Open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar
    * Type in the Filter bar: mstone
    * Right-click the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line and select: Reset
    * Close and restart Firefox
If that didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.

  • How can i get rid of the Google Bar that is located to the right of the "awesome" bar on the navigation toolbar?

this is the Google search window/bar that seems to be automatically placed on the navigation tool bar. since Google is my home page, i don't want it to also appear on the nav bar.

Go to View | Toolbars | Customize. You'll see a panel appear. Drag anything you don't want in there including the Search bar. I don't use it either.
You can drag it back out again if you decide later you want it again.

  • How can i get rid of the "macshop " ads that keep appearing on my browser, as i keep the bobups blocked and cookies of third parties and advertisments blocked as well

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

  • How can I get rid of the dark area on top one third of my iphone screen which spoils my background image?

How can I get rid of the dark area on top one third of my iphone screen which spoils my background image?
It seems this problem is caused by the software to increase the readibility of upper letters (clock battery etc.) It be nice to leave us the control of choosing background letter color too if we are using brighter images or darker images.
I'm using iphone 4s and it appeared after I updated to new patch. 7.1.1.
    Thanks,
    Cem
