I can't get the 8.1 upgrade to work
I just bought a new laptop with win 8 in January of 2014. I've been reading about installing 8.1. I see the shopping bag on the desktop. When I click it, it takes me to something says install 8.1. It's in the MS store.
When I click it, nothing happens. It appears to accept the click, but doesn't install anything. I have tried several times. A couple of times, I got a message stating that I am running an old version of win 8. I thought win 8 was new.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? When I look in Win at system information, it shows that I'm running Win 8. It doesn't say 8.0 nor 8.1. Thank you.
Thank you for your assistance. I'm sorry to say, it didn't help. I've spent countless hours trying to upgrade with the 8.1 updates. When I start the upgrade, I get a green screen with a sack and the spinning busy dots.
It doesn't change. I've left it alone for about 6 hours and it never changed. I look at task manager, and see "store". It shows Network 0, CPU 0, disk 0. I can see usage on some of the other background tasks. I uninstalled
Norton, so I know that's not blocking the download. I know I'm connected to the internet, because I keep email open during the download. This is a brand new HP Pavilion PC. There are no other security packages installed. There's
not much at all installed except MS Word and Pinnacle Studio. I'm still trying! I'm beginning to think that Win 8.1 is not good!

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. It came installed on my HP Desktop. I am can not get the warp text tool to work. It has worked in the past. Once I click warp text, the little window does not pop up, and if I try to do anything else after I click warp text, it wont let me. Just sounds the ding, alert, can still slightly navigate the program but can not use any other tools after clicking warp text. I just have to open task manager and close the program. not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe I just need to uninstall and re install. Having trouble finding out how to uninstall and reinstall because the program came pre installed on my desktop.
It actually sounds like the warp text window is opening off screen.
Resetting the photoshop elements 10 preferences should fix it.
*Press and hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after you start the launch of the photoshop elements 10 editor
*Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop elements setting file
*Press Yes -
I can't get the patch select buttons to work in edit mode.
I can't get the patch select buttons to work in edit mode. When I select any template, the set buttons or the patch buttons don't work at all. My up and down arrows work fine but I need the on screen buttons to be assigned to my footswitch.
In edit mode, at concert level, select the pedal. Then in the screen control inspector, in the mappings tab, select actions>next patch.

I can't get the iMessage or FaceTime to work on my iPod touch. I updated to the latest iOS. I have ensured restrictions are off and 'Set Automatically' is selected under date & time settings. I can enter my apple ID, but it bounces back to the first login screen.

I can't get the Siri dictation tool to work when I access the Internet via Wi-Fi at work. It will work if I access the Internet with a cellular connection. What can I do to get it to work on the Wi-Fi?

I am having issues setting up my appletv. I made the error of setting it up without having itunes on my computer. I can't get the remote to work, the light isn't on the box, and I can't get it to reset to factory default. I don't have a "-" key on my remote. I held the menu button down with every button on the remote without success.
Please help!!Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

Should have purchased XI. According to Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications you will need Acrobat 11.0.1 -and- to be running the 32-bit Visio.

It's something else to try! I am quite savy, just frustrated over what should be a simple update!!!!!
I did however try and install iTunes 10.7 on a different computer, which is clean as I ran anitvirus on it this morning, prior to downloading itunessetup.exe and it did the same thing on there too.
Having spent nearly two days trawling the internet for help I am beginning to wonder if it is not a problem with 10.7 itself? Seems like quite a lot of people have the same issues as me....and it can't be the same thing on everyone's computer!
I will try the antivirus on my laptop and go from there!!!

Hi, I have a problem, I can't get the microphone of my asus ZF53, and I am being desesperate.
I have alsa-lib 1.0.14-5.
I have read this post http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=37007 but I can't find a solution :S

How can i get the 4.01 upgrade for Final Cut Express 4.01
I have problems importing movieclips from my Sony HD camcorder (Sony HDR-CX350VE) in Final Cut Express. Surfing some Mac forums I jumped to the conclusion that I am not the only one. FCE sees the clips, but when I try to import them I get an error (idle). On one of the Mac forums I read that al lot of the AVCHD problems have been solved in the 4.0.1. update of FCE. I have 4.0 but I don't get the 4.01 update offered on Software update (although I have registered the software) and I can't find the 4.0.1 update on the Apple support or downloadsite. Does anywhone how I can get this update. It must exist because I found the releasenotes.
The Application is called Final Cut Express, but it wasn't at the top level. I put it there and tried Software-update again. And Yes it found the 4.01 update. Stupid of me and very clever of you, Tom!

Losing camera raw settings in bridge
I've started losing the edits that I made to images in Camera Raw. I'll make edits to an image, cropping, sharpening, exposure etc. Then I will go on to another image. When I look back at the previous image the edits are gone. The image has reverted.
