My Set-Up:
I have 25 Sony 8mm old Home videos some over 20 years old importing as ntsc with a brand new mac-book pro with 750 Gig HD and FCE 4.0.
I was lucky and found a sony video camera that I hooked a four pin firewire to a 9 pin (800) to my mac. My iomega 2TB external hard drive just arrived from amazon and it has both usb and Fire Wire 800.

Change the FCE Easy Setup to a DV Converter option, either PAL or NTSC whichever video standard applies to your gear.
You are best to start a New Project with the New Easy Setup applied to ensure that the old settings are not used.
You will not have device control so start the camera manually and hit NOW in the capture Window. Escape key to stop.

I told you, I can't restore iOS. In order to restore my iPad, I need to update it to iOS 7.0.4, but my iPad needs available space to update, but I don't have any. OK. I misstated this. I have a number of Smart Mailboxes with their specific rules in which to route certain topics to specify mailboxes. I am trying to not have to create each Smart Mailbox on each computer.
The problem is that when I am on the road I add contacts, bookmarks, keychain items, contacts into my laptop and vice versa when home. I would just like to have those Sync on both computers. Seems like it should be easy, but it hasn't been.
I really don't think I have anything "non-standard." A few Smart Mailboxes, a couple of signatures, thats pretty much it.

Yes I did. It didn't seem to work when just extracted into my home directory. After looking at the two wrapper scripts (firefox and run-mozilla.sh) it looked like it needed to be in /usr/local/lib/firefox-3.6.23 which I did and which works. The problem is that the Help menu is the one for 3.5.9 (including Help > About Firefox says version 3.5.9). Even if I rename the two wrapper scripts and the executable for 3.5.9 I still get the 3.5.9 Help menu. FWIW, my 3.5.9 was packaged in FC11 and the 3.5.9 firefox script is in /usr/bin.
I'm sure I'm just overlooking something obvious but here is some debugging output:

The only other thing I can suggest is to use the Repair option for iTunes.
Download the iTunes programme (do not uninstall your current iTunes) and then "install" the new copy. At some stage you should see an option to "install" or "Repair". Take the Repair option.
Once you've done that, if you still have a problem, I don't know what else to suggest, except to search through the discussions to see if anyone else has had the problem and managed to fix it.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

if it is taking screenshots, the home button might be defective from the hardware side. Restoring "as new ipod" without using the latest backup could solve the problem if it would be software related.
If it's a hardware problem, you should contact Apple and get it serviced, or visit an Apple Store if you have one next to you.
