I can't get the website I supposedly needed Mozilla Firefox to come up.

I need to SPEAK to someone. Time is of the essence. I was told I needed this Mozilla Firefox to get to veracity.allegiancemd.com/login but it doesn't come up.

For me, it does open in Google Chrome but not in Firefox, Opera or IE9. Win7x64 Fx5.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

I can't get the websites like youtube, facebook, etc to load. everything comes up as just text/words. i've downloaded adobe flash and real player on windows xp.

i have windows xp. i just got the computer and internet on it. i downloaded adobe flash and real player. but i still can't get sites like facebook and youtube to work. i always get popups that ask if its a trusted site and to add the exception, which i do. yahoo and msn work, i can see photos and pictures and images just fine, but facebook and youtube are still all just words and error messages. any suggestions besides what i've already tried? i'm not tech savvy so step by step is how i learn best!

Check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
Check out why the site is untrusted and click "Technical Details" to expand this section.
If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
*Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
*Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate.

My guess is that there are problems with gestures yet to be worked out. One problem I see is that users don't wait long enough, or try hard enough (ha!) when using them. My guess is that when the machine is busy (indexing, rendering, etc.) that the gestures get hosed, but I am not a developer...so just a guess

Up until about a month ago I was able to shrink my photos with shrink pic. I use yahoo for my emails and since they did an update I can no longer shrink my photos using Mozilla Firefox. It sounds like you are running the student edition which comes with a
textbook and doesn't support external code such as DLLs, CINs, or
ActiveX. You might want to check with others at your university and see
about getting access to an academic edition or a
full edition.

Hi, I have the newest update of Fire Fox which is 10.0.2. I can't get the Java plugin to download to Firefox.

I am wanting to get Java working on Firefox so I can utilize chat rooms and other programs that use Java, and no it is not Javascript that I am talking about. Every time I go to a site that utilizes Java it tells me that I need to download the Java plugin. When I click on the link it starts to download the Java plugin, but instead of installing the plugin it installs Java for Internet Explorer instead.

on your information page it shows a firefox button in the left hand upper corner I don't have that button.

Firefox only shows the Firefox menu button if the menu bar is hidden.

You would normally have the click the icon on the left hand side of the location bar to see security information in case a secure HTTPS connection is used.

I used the compatibility button with IE and our company program. I can't get the company program to work using Firefox. How do I make compatiable?

With IE and my company program access, I used the compatibility button so it would work. I can't find a solution with Firefox to utilize my company program. I tried Shift Control R and Shift reload. But to no avail. I really need to use my company program to access account info and I am not wanting to resort back to using IE as my internet browser. Please help.

As you have discovered, Firefox does not have a feature similar to IE's compatibility mode where non-standards-compliant pages designed for older versions of IE can run in newer versions of IE.
The solution really depends on what is wrong with those pages. Does your IT support Firefox and/or are they willing to make fixes?
Note that you can use different browsers for different sites. If you need IE for internal sites, that doesn't mean you can't use Firefox for your regular browsing. You wouldn't be the only person in this thread doing that. ;-)

Further info: I am a complete newbie to Mac. Had three macs prior to 2000 then four PCs. Just come back and struggling a bit with the unfamiliarity. On my old PC laptop I could simply switch from the laptop screen to the large external monitor (and back) with the F4 function key. While I can get the background image from my MBA to display, that's it. Until I noticed on the far left of the external monitor, the very edge of one of the web pages I was on. So Idragged it over to display in the centre. But that's all that's there. And now I have gone out of those web pages but they are still displaying on the monitor. There is some wierd disconnect. I'm sure it is just a setting thing. Will keep searching for answer but any advice welcome!

Your dsplay is getting extended onto the external monitor. Chcnage the setting to duplicate it or only display on the external monitor and you should be fine,
