I can't get YouTube videos to play

I was "cleaning" up some odd files that I noticed were on the hard drive and must have eliminated something important.  Don't ask me what I deleted! Anyway, now I can't play any video that links to YouTube.  I get the "Page cannot be located" error.  So after some searching, I found a post that said I needed to uninstall/reinstall Flash Player.  So I've now done the uninstall.  But when I go to the Adobe.com website and start the download for the latest version that'll work on my setup, again I get the "Page cannot be located" error.  When I try to go to customer service on the Adobe.com website, I also get this same "Page cannot be located" error.  Talk about frustrating!
Does anyone have a suggestion?  I do still have an older version of Flash Player ".dmg" file on the computer (version 11 vs. currently available version 14) and wonder if I should install the older version and then see if it will update to the current version...
Please help!
Pat

I had the same problem when I updated Flash last time.  Later versions of Flash screwed up all YouTube videos on a Mac still running Snow Leopard.
The last version of Flash I've used that works with Snow Leopard and YouTube (and almost any other web video) is 12.0.0.77.  This may be due to a Safari issue with Snow Leopard--I'm running 5.1.7.  Adobe says you have to change your Safari prefs/security to "Allow all plugins" and "Allow Java", but neither of these prefs appear in my version.
It's unfortunate, because Flash updates address security issues.

    Welcome to the forum.
As Steve observes, what you are talking about is called "PiP," or Picture in Picture.
He has given you the basics of creating a "split-screen" PiP, and that should be exactly what you wish to do.
For more detail, plus more ways to do PiP, I strongly recommend his book, Cool Tricks & Hot Tips for Adobe Premiere Elements 11, from Muvipix. He has an entire chapter (Chapter 10) on PiP, and many of its uses, with detailed instructions on the settings to accomplish it. Just that one chapter is worth the price of the book.
    Good luck, and happy editing,

I can't get any videos on my Mac to play, like videos from You Tube or Facebook etc.

I just figured it out.  Somehow I didn't change it to the correct code of 1.  So on the second shot of 5 allowed I realized I didn't change and save.  Now the dvd played.

  • Can't get Quicktime videos to play once uploaded - using iWeb 08

Please help. I just updated my work website and uploaded a few quicktime videos of my TV spots. These same spots were uploaded and played fine on my last website update last year. But this time around, they're not working so well. Once uploaded, if you click on the controls under the screen, they don't respond. If you double-click the actual screen, the video starts and stops playing.
How can I get my quicktime videos to play like they're supposed to on my site? I'm using iWeb 08 and my version of Safari is 5.0.2.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked. However, it's three different videos on three different pages, and each video is pretty much the only thing on each page.
That would be great if you would take the time to access my site and see if you can find what the problem is. My URL is www.haleyturner.com. Click on the first square, the second square, and the last square to access the quicktime video pages.

  • Can anyone get this video to play?

Because I can't on my Mac. The advertisement plays, and then the actual video never plays. The first time the flash player interface took forever to load, but no video. The second time, after the advertisement (which always plays perfectly, natch), the player loaded right up, but still no video.

Thanks. I got one of the other videos to play, but badly. The video played for like 30 seconds only partly revealed in a small square in the upper left corner of the player window, before fully revealing the whole picture.
Funny how the advertisements play flawlessly every time though.

  • I cannot get YouTube videos to play on the ipad.

Reboot, reload, installed YouTube app, it played 1/2 of a video and went back to "video is currently unavailable". It worked last week. Problem both with browser and app. Help!

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • How can I get SD video to play fullscreen at 1080p resolution

In iTunes on OSX, if I click the full screen button, iTunes will take over the monitor, but it does not scale the video to use the full resolution like Hulu or Netflix do for their fullscreen video.  Instead I get a 640x480 box in the middle of the screen with black bars on all four sides.  Is there an option that I can't find to make iTunes upconvert?

If the Denon shows in airplay mirroring you can just turn on mirroring and get the sound.  Otherwise try System Preferences -> Sound -> Output and choose the Denon there. Any system sound will play through the airplay device.  I don't know why apple doesn't just give an airplay option from the menu bar sound icon to make this easier.... seems like they are pushing people to mirror

  • How can I get flash videos to play

When I bought this iPad I had no idea that I wouldn't be able to watch most of the videos I want to watch.  Is there any way to get flash without paying for a new web browser program?

Can you name some apps that I have to buy?  I don't know where to start.
"Puffin" comes to mind.  I think it's only a couple of dollars, but I can tell you that you won't be happy with the Flash video that runs through this browser.  Too much overhead or something. It stutters and freezes.
Waste of time and money IMHO.
The "security" excuse is a bit thin.  Flash works great on my MBP and as far as I know, on all the the other Apple computers.  Jobs had decided that it will not be supported on the iPad, the iPhone, and the iTouch.
    Personally I could care less.

  • How can I get Quicktime videos to play fully screen?

I recently downloaded Quicktime Pro to my windows computer in order to be able to play Quicktime movies in full screen, but they still only play in the small video pane. Everything seems to be properly installed using the key I received, and my programs now indicate that I do have Quicktime Pro installed. Why doesn't it play in full screen?
    Dell Inspiron E1505   Windows XP

Look under the Help menu and click "Installed Plug-ins".
Do you have QuickTime associated with that file type?
You set them using the QuickTime System Preference / Advanced tab MIME Settings button.
Quit and relaunch your browser after making changes.
