I can't hear a song

I pre-ordered an album and it said you got 2 free songs. Today if you had the album pre orders you would get another song but I can't hear the new song that I was supposed to receive it just says purchased but it won't let me play it

Go to SETTINGS - IPOD - and turn off "Shake to Shuffle"...

Can't hear some songs on the ipod

after I downlaod a song onto my ipod, I can't hear it. It skips the song and moves to the next one. But when I plug the ipod into itunes, and see the playlist, I can hear it.
problem: I can't hear songs independently with ipod.
I don;t know if it is the format it is in but it is driving me crazy.

How are you putting the songs on your iPod? Are you loading them through iTunes?
If you're just using the iPod as a removable drive and dragging the songs to the iPod, they will be stored on the iPod but not accessible through the interface.

I can't hear my songs on i tunes

I have a Windows computer and I can't hear the music I purchased from the ITunes Store. Its not my computer because I can hear my youtube videos its a setting on ITunes I think.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
When having issues with audio playback with iTunes, the following Knowledge Base Article offers up some great recommendations to review for troubleshooting:
iTunes 12 for Windows: If you have trouble playing music or other audio
Particularly usefull to begin is the following:
If the progress bar at the top of the iTunes window is moving, but you don’t hear anything
If you’re using your computer’s built-in speakers: Make sure the volume control at the top of the iTunes window isn’t turned down, and that your computer’s output volume isn’t turned down (in the “Sound and Audio Devices Properties” control panel).
If you’re using powered speakers connected to your computer: Make sure the powered speakers are properly plugged in to your computer’s audio port, plugged into a power source, and turned on. Also make sure their volume isn’t turned down.
If you’re using remote speakers and the iTunes volume control is dimmed: Make sure Computer is selected in the AirPlay pop-up menu at the top of the iTunes window. Then choose iTunes > Preferences, click Devices, and make sure “Allow iTunes audio control from remote speakers” is not selected.
If you’re trying to listen to music through remote speakers using AirPort Express: Make sure the remote speakers are selected in the AirPlay pop-up menu at the top of the iTunes window, and the volume control on the speakers isn’t turned down.
If you’re using an AirPort Express, you can find more troubleshooting information in the documentation that came with your AirPort Express, or at the AirPort Support website.

I can't hear my song!!

I went to listen to my ipod and for some reason it won't play my songs. I can play games go through all my songs, even pick a song to play. It will show the song but it just won't play it. The bar at the bottom doesn't even move to show the song is playing so it has nothing to do with sound. Someone please help me I can't find a number to call anyone and i can never figure out this website stuff.

This happens when you try to play the track from your iPod itself correct? If so, have you tried another set up or headphones or earbuds to see if that makes a difference?
If still no luck with that, you should work through the usual 5 R's of troubleshooting to rule out any possibility of a software issue/glitch. And if still no luck, it is likely a hardware issue, possibly with the headphone jack or the audiochip located on the iPod's logic board.

Can´t hear a song when double click it or when I press play

Hi, I´ve got a problem with itunes. when I double click a song of my library supposely The song should tart playing but doesn´t move at all. it doesn´t work either when I press play
Also when I am in itunes store and double click a song to listen it I get a message "searching or loading URL" but never happens

Can't hear my song properly

Every time I transfer my song into my ipod mini, for some reason itunes takes off like a full minute from the song (i.e: the song is suppose to be 3:45 long but in itunes it is 2:04)In my ipod, it follows itunes and plays up to 2:04 but cuts off that 1:41. However, when I play the song in itunes, 2:04 plays the whole song..while in winamp it plays 3:45 for the whole song.

if you select one of the "shortened" tracks in itunes, do you see its duration switch back to the full and proper length?

I just updated my software from iTunes6 to itunes7 and sudenly no lists appear neither in itunes or ipod. Originaly I had 25GB on songs, 10 GB in videos and 5 in others. 40 GB out of 60GB of capacity. I hooked up my ipod to my pc, iTunes loaded and now everything is recognized as Others. How can I can see again my music. It was not erased but no I can`t hear my songs...Please help!!!

Restore your ipod then load all the music/videos back onto it again. It will be working normally after that.

Hi, my problem is that I can't hear or play sample of songs in the itunes stores. Please help me!

If you have an old version of iTunes, you can go to edit, preferences, and click load complete preview before playing.
If you have a current version, nothing works. They removed this option. I've contacted iTunes support many times over this issue. Maybe if enough of us complain, the issue will be addressed.

Hey ErikSimon, I kept troubleshooting my problem last night and when I loaded my samples an alternate way, actually the longer way, it worked. I think I have gremlins in the system or something, but I got it working again. I was having the issue when I tried loading the samples via these instructions that were mentioned in SFLogicninja's Youtube video @ 3:07
