I can't hear the dialouge in fe

I upgraded today from an integrated realtek soundcard to the x-fi gamer. Amazing card I can't believe how great it sounds on my head phones. Anyway whenever anyone talks in fear cut scenes/in game radio/anything I can see them talking but I don't hear anything. I have the in game audio turned up all the way and I've tried turning up my headphone volume up all the way and it doesn't work either. I've also tried turning off all of the other sound except for voices and I still can't hear it even when I turn it off. I was really looking forward to playing fear with all of the nifty 3d audio this card has can anyone help me? I've also updated the driver to the most current version.
My specs are:
Windows XP SP2
8600gt gpu
gb ram

Out of interest, what codec was needed?
I have just tried to play 3 of my games - Medieval II, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and F.E.A.R. All have no sound... well there are a few feint sounds, but not what it used to have. Even the bootup screens like NVIDIA, Ubisoft etc. don't have sound.
Windows has all its normal sounds and some games are unaffected.
I uninstalled the Audigy 2 ZS and reinstalled, nothing's helped there. Device manager reports no problems, dxdiag reports no problems. Obviously the card's working, but there's some other driver/codec issue/conflict.

This is a wireless carrier issue. The fact that the speaker & microphone work properly for other apps is a great indicator that your device is fine.
Contact your wireless carrier about your call quality issue.

When making a call, I can't hear the person I am calling, but they can hear me. How do I fix this problem?

I can play music and hear it just fine, with or without headphones. When I press on the keypad I can hear the noise it makes, I can hear calls with my headphones plugged in, or when the speaker option is on, however, unless this happens, I can't hear the person I am on the phone with.
I've tried restarting, resetting, earasing all content, and restoring it with iTunes and that didn't work.
I've tried cleaning the ports with a toothbrush, or pressing gently on the microphone and that didn't work.
I've tried calling with the headphone on, and taking them off in the middle of the call and that didn't work either.
I am currently outside of the US so I can't go to an Apple store, so I am wondering if any of you guys have been succesful at solving this problem. Your help is much appreciated

If you can listen to the other person on loud speaker, means your earpeice got damaged.
If you have warranty (1 year is basic, upto 3yrs if you bought an extended apple care), you can take your iphone to any apple store in the world for a free repair, yes, apple warranties are international.
But usually they replace it with another new phone.
So make sure you update your phone and backup everything on your itunes.
Even if you're ot of warranty, you can get it fixed from apple by paying extra.
For now you have to use headphone or loud speaker

Hi, I have this exact same problem. I haven't been using an iRig, just a cheap USB-jack cable. I managed to do this with the first cable I bought, but since it broke I've been unable to find a replacement that allows me to hear the drums while recording. DId you manage to get over this issue? I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. My iMovie is skipping like crazy when I try to edit and then goes to a black screen and you can only hear the audio!?!? What's happening??

I use iMovie almost everyday for Youtube videos. I have nothing in my imovie except the 5 clips that I'm editing now. I have all my media on an external hard drive and delete everything after I'm done with ( I empty all trash cans). My iMovie is now skipping when I try to edit and then the clips just go to a black screen and I can only hear the audio, this has been going on for a week and I don't know what to do?!? Any help?

I went back to the service provider twice and they reactivated my phone the first time and the second time the tech rebooted the phone and told me how to tell if it was on my end or the other person's end. Of course it didn't happen at the store, but right after I left I called a family member (on my plan) and the phone did this problem. It can be frustrating. The clip is intact and it has video and audio.
I have worked on it before and all was fine until I lost the work when it got frozen!
The issue is:
I have a (MOV.) ready clip that I wanted to edit a bit, hence I have imported the clip (import media) and whenever I try to work on it, the black screen prohibits me from doing anything.
Any ideas please ... It's really strange !
