I can't hook my phone to computer via USB

When I attach my phone to my PC... I get a USB error. The computer is not recognizing my phone. What can I do?

Assuming it is an S4, download the driver from here:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SCH-I545ZKAVZW
Install it.
Restart your PC.
Now connect your phone to the PC. If it doesn't recognize the device, try a different USB port.
If that doesn't work, try another USB cable.

My Mac will not allow me to downlode the latest iTunes and now I can not connect my phone and computer. THis is very frustrating! HELP!!!

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Even my 12 year old Mac lets me download the newest iTunes.  Of course I can't install it but any computer can download the installer files so we need to know precisely what you are trying and what error messages you are seeing.

  • TS2776 iPhone 5, Outlook 2013, Windows 7.0 64-bit.  Every time I connect my phone to my computer via USB, iTunes opens with the "accept our terms and service" then deselects the boxes checked under the INFO tab to sync my calendars, contacts...help?

I am connecting my iPhone 5 to my Windows computer via USB.  This should open iTunes and start the sync process.  Instead of iTunes opening, I get the iTunes service agreement to which I must agree.  Then iTunes opens and begins to back up my phone.  It is syncing my photos and music (although the music thing is another nightmare), but under the "info" tab in iTunes, the boxes of which functions I want to sync are no longer selected.  Hence the computer and the phone are not sharing information.  When I select the functions I want to sync, I must either replace or merge.  If I replace, I lose the information I recently put into my phone.  If I choose to merge, then I have duplicates of everything.
How can I resolve this problem? Why is iTunes acting like it doesn't know my phone?
I'm using an iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4, Windows 7 64-bit, Outlook 13, and the must current version of iTunes (because I've removed and reinstalled it twice already).
    Thanks for any help!
    Christine

After you'd run the Configure Classic instance did you run in the statement as stated in 'Oracle® Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) Part Number E10421-05'?
    java -classpath ORACLE_HOME_DIR\discoverer\lib\disco-config.jar;ORACLE_HOME_DIR\oui\jlib\OraInstaller.jar;ORACLE_HOME_DIR\opmn\lib\iasprovision.jar -Djava.library.path=ORACLE_HOME_DIR\oui\lib\win32 oracle.disco.install.config.DiscoUtil -oraclehome ORACLE_HOME_DIR -tnsadmin TNS_ADMIN_DIR
I've completed an installation with the same steps (although I ran the config.bat file in as_1/bin rather than from the program files list and also I've the jrockit jdk installed)
    I've found that this fails with the error;
INFO: This tool works only on Windows Platform. Exiting the program
Which is strange considering this is Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit
DISCO is running in the EM console but the URLs (as defined in the installation summary report) do not resolve properly. I was just interested to hear if you're installation was the same, this isn't the first installation I've done, they've all had a similar issue

  • Phone only charging via usb

    Hi,
I have a problem with my blackberry. A couple of weeks ago it stopped charging via wall socket charger. After trying a couple of different chargers and still not charging I contacted my service provider who brought it in for repair. After about a week I received the phone back from repair. They did not repair the phone because they said it would be a chargeable repair. I asked them what the fault was and they said the charging port on the phone had water damage but I can't see how because it has been no where near water. I tried the phone again with different chargers but still would not charge. I then tried a usb charger via pc and the phone now charges with no problems. So now I'm charging the phone with a plug in socket with usb connection. I Phoned my service provider to say the phone is charging via usb and the phone must have a hardware fault, But they are still saying that the phone is damaged and it is a chargeable repair. I can't see how if it is charging normally via a usb. Please can you confirm if the phone would have a hardware problem.
    Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community...apologies for the delayed reply...hopefully you already have this sorted, but just in case!
As described, this sounds quite odd indeed. I would not expect behavior in the manner you describe it. But, since this is a user-to-user community and not a formal communication channel with RIM, all I can give you is my opinion based solely on what you have said. Nevertheless, at an internet distance, it would be impossible to contradict what your warranty service provider has told you, even if I find the situation to be quite strange from your description.
    Good luck!

  • N70 unable to connect phone to compter via USB hel...

Brand spanking new N70, downloaded PC suite however not able to connect phone to compter via USB to transfer music. Can anybody help?

    Hi bento
When you install PC Suite for first time there are TWO seperate processes, firstly installing PC Suite then returns to desktop and then secondly establishing connectivity during which "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and "PC Connectivity Solution" installed.
You could go to Setings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Repair and see if this helps

My Ipad mini is not reconized on any computer via USB.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Can't access iPhone 4 under My Computer via usb connection outside of iTunes

I have an 8 GB iPhone 4, which replaced a 16GB one that fell from the docking station last Christmas and won't come back on. I have avoided syncing the new one with iTunes since getting it because I don't want to lose all of the pictures I had on the old one, but now I can no longer access my pictures through "My Computer" when I hook my phone up via USB. When I turned on iTunes (for the first time since August of last year apparently), it says "Would you like to set up this iPhone as a new phone or restore all of your information from a previous backup?" I don't want to do EITHER. I want to access my pictures WITHOUT using an extremely time consuming third party app or getting rid of any of the previous or new existing pictures and other media. I have over 1,500 pictures on my 8GB phone and it isn't functioning very well. I need to get these off and onto my computer, and I'm quickly losing my patience. Please help.

Log your iPhone and your computer into the iCloud.
All your pictures will be sent automaticly into your photo stream.
Then you can just pluck them out on your computer.

  • Files not showing on computer via USB

After creating a new folder on my phone using the pre-installed app "File Commander", I then attempted to copy a file to the folder from my computer using USB connectivity via wireless in MTP mode.
To my frustration the folder did not appear...
Google suggested rebooting, or getting the SDRescan app.
Rebooting did fix the problem, but is not really a workable solution...
    Unfortunately SDRescan sates:
"Warning: It's not compatible with Android 4.4 Kikat and newer Android versions."
Apparently this bug in Android has been there for over 2 years :Android MTP support does not show recent files until the device is rebooted
Any other work arounds I can try?
Sorry I'm new to Android so still getting to grips with the foibles
like the the "move to sd card" ignoring multiple file types: MOV + M4A, at least I can actually access the files and move them myself which is a refreshing change after coming here from Apple.
    Cheers
    Simon

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm not sure but i think this has to do with that it may take some time before Android scans the memory so recent changes doesn't always show over MTP.
Possible workarounds are using other apps like AirDroid or MyPhoneExplorer when connecting to the phone.

  • IPod Touch 4th gen  trouble connecting to my Win-Vista 64bit computer via USB.

    Hi,
I seem to have an issue with my iPod Touch 4G. Ever since upgrading to iOS5.
The iPod Touch has had issues connecting, via direct USB, to my Windows Vista 64 bit computer.  When I connect it, via USB, the computer will report the iPod Touch 4G as an "Unrecognized Device."  This prevents me from using the USB to sync the iPod or charge it via the computer's USB connection.
My work around is to turn off the iPod (via red slide bar method) then connect it to the USB.  At this point, it in it will automatically re-start the iPod and then it will recognize and sync or charge.  I can also connect it have it report as an "Unrecognized Device" leave it connected, turn it off(red slide bar) and turn it back on and it will also connect charge and sync.
The problem is that I must turn it off every time I want to connect it.  I can sync via wi-fi (but this causes issues with music that others have shared with me-keeps asking for their i-Tunes account) (happened after I "re-set" the I-Pod).  I needed to hard sync with the computer to make all the rights work out.
This same USB cable and computer works just fine with my other iPods (Touch 3G, Classic) and my iPhone 4S.  Only problem device is the Touch 4G.  The problematic iPod and same USB cable works without issue on other computers (i.e.:  don't have to turn it off and then plug it in).
I've followed the apple instructions and sequence to remove I-Tunes and a bunch of other related software and then reinstall it.  I've reset my iPod. Nothing corrects this issue with this particular iPod.  I've changed USB ports, tried other USB cables nothing changes the fact that I have to turn off and back on the iPod Touch 4G each time before I can get it to be properly recognized by the computer and thus charge or be recognized by iTunes.
This only started to happen to the iPod Touch 4G after I upgraded it from iOS4 to iOS5.  I also have iOS5 on my iPhone 4S - with no issues.  My other iPod Touch 3G is using iOS4.  It connects and syncs fine.
I've figured out a work around but, does anyone know how to fix this issue?  Thanks

    Hi,
Yes, I have restored from Backup via i-Cloud. I've restored the iPod to factory settings.  It seem like there is a driver issue.  I installed iOS 5.01 and updated iTunes to 10.5.3.3 at about the same time.  Win-Vista64, iTunes and iPod are all up to date.  Apple Genius, at local Apple store was also perplexed.  He suggested I ask the community.  So, here I am.
It is strange that I can connect to other computers.  But, the other computers have Win 7.  Could this be a Vista64 driver issue?
