Did you install using the same drivers etc.? Then you may have re-introduced the problem. I recommend you boot at least into safe mode (hit F8 during startup) and check, if AE runs there. If it does, then you can be reasonably certain that one of the extended driver components loaded in normal mode is responsible. If so, it may be worth taking a screenshot of your task manager's process and services list (or use tools like Process Explorer, freely downloadable from Microsoft) and compare it to a normal boot. This would help to pin down potential culprits. Based on the names, you could then go looking for solutions.

  • Lightroom 3.6 update and now i can't import anything

I've been using LR 3 for a while, really loving it, then a couple of days ago, I was prompted to an update for 3.6.  I did this and now I can't import anything.
I'm using a Mac, OS 10.7, and I've been using a Canon 60D with great success and results, and nothing has changed except for me updating to 3.6.
I'm using Camera Raw 6.6 and I updated the DNG converter to 7.2 and still it won't work.  The message i get is that the following couldn't be imported because they could not be read.  It's true for the RAW and the JPEG files, both.
    Help!

I have the exact same problem. I updated to 3.6.12 and encountered the "blank page" printing problem. I ended up re installing Firefox 3.0.19. Printing works great. Also Firefox 3.5.15 gave the same blank page printing problem. I also installed "Better privacy" and " Ghostery"at the time of updates. These programs do not run under the 3.0.19 version. Not sure if if they are related to the problem. Good luck and hope a solution to the problem comes about.

Good morning to all of you
I have A mac and I did the mistake of upgrading my Lightroom 5.4 to 5.6 Now I can't import anything it says "Could not find namespace: AgCreativeCloudUtils"
Could anyone help me resolve this problem?
Should I uninstall the program and reinstall it
    Thank you so much

I asked because an awful lot of people have recently been confused between downloading the Cloud and the perpetual versions of Lr - although I'm not automatically assuming your'e guilty of this - and can't understand why their serial no won't unlock their new software.
If the wrong version has been installed, then it must be uninstalled and the right one downloaded.

  • Can't import anything into Final Cut 7.0.3

I just recently updated my OS to Snow Leopard (10.6.7) along with Final Cut Pro 7.0.3. and now for some reason Final Cut does not recognize anything, video, audio, stills, nothing. I've found a workaround for video files, save as itself in Quicktime. But I still can't import. I always get this message.
    "File error:1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown "
I've found that a few pople on Creative Cow are having the same issue but, there is still fix. I've trashed preferences, flashed pram, even did a hard re-install. My job depends on FC working properly. Does anyone have a fix for this.

Its an was update from an earlier version.
    What earlier version?
And you're saying when you using File>Import>File and select a JPEG you get the error message?
You can't or shouldn't import MP3s into FCP.
Have you try creating a new porject and importing into that?

  • I can't import anything!!!

Okay. I just bought Star Wars Episode 3, and cannot get it on to my iPod. I try importing it into itunes and nothing happens. I converted the movies and no cigar. I cannot import songs either, not even from my own iPod! I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but that didn't do anything. I have iTunes 6, and I always disable Norton. What could my problem be?

    Anne,
Are you trying to import songs or video from a DVD? Or are you saying that you can't import songs from audio CDs as well?
There's a tutorial here about how to get video on your iPod.
If you're having problems importing audio CDs, I need more information about your hardware configuration. If you haven't already, go get iTunes 6.0 and install it. Run the iTunes Help menu -> Run CD Diagnostics... command and post the results here.

  • Second user account can not import anything

I am the primary user on this mac and I can import CDs without issue. My wife is the second user on the same system, when she tries to import she receives a message saying this:
    The file <CD Title> couldn't be converted.
You don't have write access for your iTunes folder in it.
I have the new iTunes 10 and that is when the problem started, anyone seen this and find a fix?
    Thanks

    try this:
logged into the wife's user account, check if she has read & write permissions for her music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
you may also give everyone read & write access.
the important part is to *apply to enclosed items* !
now try to import the CD again.

  • Imported one movie without trouble...but can't import anything since

I have iMovie6 on my G4 Powerbook (Ti). I used iMovie for the first time the other day and imported an hour long vacation video...all 11 gigs. It worked flawlessly...but I decided I had bitten off a little more than I cared to chew...and edit(and hogged more of my hard drive than I wanted to), so I deleted the file. Now I'm trying to import some shorter movies...10 minutes or so....but I can't. I hook up the camera, open iMovie, and see the video on both the computer screen and the camcorder screen (Sony mini). I click "play" and it plays fine. Then I hit the spacebar to stat importing and it...starts...chopping...along...for a second or two, and then stops. It's as though I don't have enough RAM (I only have 512)...but considering I imported 11 gigs without a hiccup a day before, I can't help but believe it's related to that. Any thoughts? I'd really like to use iMovie! One clue that it has something to do with the big movie I deleted...my hard drive indicates I lost over a gig of free space after importing/delteting the file. Are there hidden files clogging things up? Thanks in advance
    15" Ti G4 Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.3.2)

If I do something like that, I always boot from my operating system install disc (hold down c key while restarting) and run the Disk Utility Repair Disk function to make sure the disk file structure is OK.
What version of OS-X are you running - your profile doesn't say.
See Disk Utility 10.5 Help (Mac OS X 10.4) - Testing and repairing your startup disk at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=DiskUtility/10.5/en/duh1018.html for more information.

  • Keeps freezing, can't import anything from iPhoto. :(

Imovie keeps freezing everytime I scroll over the videos. So I got the new Imovie update and now I can't even import from Iphoto.
    Please help

    Hi
    Please try
    • Create a new User Account
    • Log into this
    • Re-try iMovie (You may need to add some Video-clips into Event's - as they and Projects follows the User Account)
If it now works OK - Then most probably the iMovie Pref. file in the old Account has gone corrupted (can easily be so by force quitting / Panic halt's and like so)

  • Can't import anything

I'm a new user. Have Itunes 9 installed. Each time I try to put music in my music library Itunes stops (task manager says "not responding"). If I load a CD in my drive it looks like it is about to work and starts to do the first song. After only 15 - 20 seconds it stops and is not repsponding. If I try to drag a song purchased from Amazon from that window to the music library - it does not even start, just goes to not responding. I uninstalled itunes last night and jusr reinstalled it today. Same thing is happening all over again. What do you think out there? Thanks

If I'm reading this right, this is a little idiosyncrasy of the UNIX basis for COLOR's sequence of events.
Clicking OPEN doesn't do what a number of applications assume -- which is to open navigation to allow the operator to browse for the desired file and then direct it to use that file.
No. You must navigate to the file first, select it, and then it is eligible to "OPEN". Which it should do unless there is some other deal-breaker imbedded in the sequence that will cause COLOR to freak out.
Key to this is, in a way of thinking, navigation/browsing is ALWAYS open in Setup/Clips.
    Does this advance the cause?

  • After trying to import a video, iPhoto will not import anything.

Hi.  My iPhoto will work relatively fine, but then if there's a video in my photos to import, the whole system crashes.  After that, it freezes when importing photos from a camera, even if there are no videos to import anymore.  This happened last year, and somehow it was fixed.  However I recently forgot and tried to import a roll with some videos on it, and now I can't import anything from my cameras.  Here's my crash report.  Thanks so much.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Can't import photos into Aperture

Prior to upgrading I was using Aperture 2, I exported each project individually into folders - I decided to keep my photo organized by folders (and referenced) rather than in the Aperture library.
    I upgraded to Aperture 3.0.1.
I can't import anything - either individually or by folder. Individually, I select import then navigate to the folder I'd like to import but I can't see any images in it, Aperture says 'loading assets' (I've left it there for hours). If I choose to import by folder, I can navigate to the folder, I see the image files but they are greyed out. I can click on import, but nothing happens.
If I navigate to the folder in Finder, drag and drop it onto Projects in Aperture I see the green plus sign. I let go and nothing happens. Images are both RAW and JPEG.

  • Can't import MP3 Files into iTunes 10.6.1

I'm a long time user of iTunes and haven't had any problems until the last couple of days.  I use a Macbook Pro with my iTunes Library on an external drive - I was trying to demonstrate using the iTunes store to a friend and created a temporary iTunes libary on my local disk (away from my office).  I then switched back to my iTunes library on the external drive but some music had disappeared.  It is in the correct folder in the library.  So as a lst ditch effort I created a new library on another disk (I was running out of space anyway).  Now I can't import anything with an extension of mp3.
    Any help would be appreciated

MOV is a container format which may contain all kinds of codec, while iTunes only import MOV whose video codec is DV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, or AIC.
Even if the MOV meet the above requirement and supported and playable in iTunes, it will still fail to sync to iPod/iPad/iPhone/Apple TV if the MOV video does not fit the specification like resolution, bit rate, aspect ratio, size, and audio codec of the iPod/iPad/iPhone/Apple TV.
In order to successfully import MOV to iTunes as well as sync MOV to Apple TV, iPod, iPhone, iPad, we have better convert the MOV video to a more compatible video format.

  • How can I import XDCAM footage from files that have been taken off the card?

    Hi,
I am trying to log and transfer footage that has been taken off SxS cards and put onto an external hard drive. I've downloaded the Sony plug-ins for my computer, but still can't import anything in Log and Transfer. Can anyone help?

Was THE ENTIRE CARD backed up?  Everything?  The full card structure?  If not, then FCP won't see it...it'll say the directory structure is invalid.  IN that case you might need to use the XDCAM TRANSFER UTILITY...separate app that can transcode the footage to QT FCP can use.

  • Can't import hourlong clip - how to edit down?

I was going to import an hour long clip but apparently I can't import anything over 10 minutes. So, how do I edit the video into manageable segments without having to forkout for Final Cut Pro as recommended on the pop up?
I only want a bit of shareware...
    thanks

You should still be capable of importing a lengthy video - iMovie just has a tendency (I don't know why) to break up long shots into 10 minutes clips that are still useable. Just drag all of the segments of the clip into the timeline - it should still play continuously without hiccups - just as it would had you split a video clip at the playhead.
If there are a great many segments, you can select them all (or a select number of them simultaneously) and bring them down into the timeline together in one shot.
