I can't install a update softwares on os x Mountain Lion
Hello
After installing an SSD in a MacBook Pro (replacing the internal hard disk of origin), I tried an installation of OS 10.8 (Lion Mountain) from an USB key created with DiskMaker X application.
Then, I moved iLife'11 from an official installation DVD.
But when I want to perform software updates from the Mac App Store, I have available the updated OS 10.9 Mavericks.
No update for OS 10.8 or iLife'11 appear in the Updates section of the App Store application.
Is there another solution ?
Thanks
Mac OS X 10.8 may be updated to 10.8.5 using the combo update:
OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.5 (Combo)
Additional updates may be found on:
Apple security updates
Once you find the name of the update you want, Google:
support.apple.com DL 'name of update'
Where name of update is what appears as the name on the security update link.
iLife '11 has applications listed on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ILife which you can find if you need a patch for the individual application, much in the same manner as finding the security updates for Mac OS X.

HT5192 why i can't install new update software?
hello people!my question ist:someone know why i can't install compleat my new Software instal on IPAD2.Please help me.....
Impossible to say without more details other than "I can't install". If you'll post full details, including whether you're attempting to update from the iPad directly or from iTunes on a computer, where things are breaking down, what error messages if any you're getting, and any other details pertinent to your issue, then someone can perhaps offer suggestions.

Can't install any .PKG or .MPKG files with Mountain Lion.
Some weeks ago I found out, that I can't install anymore any programmes that are packed in .PKG or .MPKG files.
Whenever I double click one of theese files, or when I try the "open with" option, I get a system response from TextEdit.App . . .
I tried already some of the advices mentioned in the community forum, but nothing worked so far.
Latest thing I tried was to re-associate these two file types with the Installer - but I couldn't find it anywhere.
I've got an iMac27, late 2009, 16GB RAM, equipped with the latest version of Mountain Lion.
Hope, you can help me - there are some updates (MS Office, MyTomTom, Logitech drivers, ...) that need to be installed.
Thanks in advance,
Dirk.I would go thus;
1. Back up, preferably using bootable and verified clone(s).
2. Boot into recovery and repair permissions/disc.
3. Apply combo updater if step 2 was unsuccessful. (The link I have posted assumes you are running 10.7.3 as per your signature). -
Can't install Perl DBI or DBD::mysql after Mountain Lion upgrade
I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and found that my Perl DBI scripts stopped working, with the error message "Can't locate DBD/mysql.pm in @INC".
The last time this happened, after upgrading to Lion, the solution was to install the new version of Xcode. Then I was able to use the Perl CPAN module to install DBI and DBD::mysql. (MySQL is already installed and running with no problem on the Mountain Lion machine.)
Now I have installed Xcode 4.5.1, and tried
mrb% sudo perl -MCPAN -e shell
[then CPAN configures itself]
cpan[1]> install DBI
and it fails with this final message:
/System/Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/CORE/perl.h:583:11: fatal error:

Can anybody help? Here is a link to a resolution in Lion. It may also solve your Mountain Lion Perl DBD issue as well.
If you run the command below before executing your Perl script the library is found and all is well!
export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/local/mysql/lib:$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH"
Put this in your .bashrc or .bash_profile.
On Apple StackExchange, Matthew Weiss had another approach.
I found on another website the following command
$ sudo perl -MCPAN -e 'CPAN::Shell->notest(install => CPAN::Shell->r)'
This updated all my perl modules and all is back to normal. Not sure why or what, but don't care that it is working now. -
Installation hangs every time with 6 items remaining. I an considering buying a newer model of Dymo: which models will work with ML?
LouAccording to the Dymo Technical Support page for that model:
MACINTOSH
DYMO Label Software version 8.4.1
New In This Release:
- Latest version of DYMO Label™ software - Free download
- QR and PDF options have been added to the available barcode list.
- Minor bugs were fixed.
- Support for Mac OS® v10.8 Mountain Lion
Have you installed the driver version 8.4.1 as mentioned above?
Hope this helps -
How can i install an internet explorer on OS X mountain lion?
hi,
i want to use internet explorer on my mac, is there any way to install.
i need it as there are some websites which can open only in internet explorer, its a loss for me that i cant open websites on this safari
kindly help me if any one knows or using IE.
thanksThat is completely false about Windows. Windows does not automatically get infected with anything the minute you connect it to the net. My god where do you come up with that? I run several Windows PCs and none of them run any malware or anti virus programs and none of them have ever been infected with anything and they are always connected to the Internet. I'm typing this reply from one such Windows PC.
It's all about how you use your computer not the OS it runs. Sure Windows is a much bigger target for the scum of the world to attack as it has 90% of the market so the people that write the viruses and malware programs do it for a system they have a better chance of infecting.
But to ***-U-Me that just because you have Windows and you go to the Net that it will get infected with something is just a Bold Face Lie. And I suspect you know that.
So why not post truths instead of the Lie in your post.
By the way Mac's can also be infected as has been proven recently. So no matter what OS you run you can get infected. Now that is not a Lie.
arthur wrote:
The two responses above are right- there is no Windows Explorer version that will install in Mountain Lion.
There are a couple of things you can try that might work, short of installing Windows on your machine, either in a virtual machine (like virtual box or parallels) or with bootcamp. Personally, I hate either of those options, just because windows is such a magnet for malware and viruses. The second you expose windows to the internet it becomes infected. -
I can't install The Creative Cloud desktop app in Mountain Lion. Error A12E1
After following every possible workaround posted everywhere, and waiting unsuccessfully for 1 hour and a half for a chat with customer support, I'm posting the issue here before I cancel my subscription to Creative Cloud.
I'm having the same issue that many people seem to have for different error codes and no solution seems to have been found yet that is agood fit for all of them, so I'm posting here in hopes somebody does take the time to analyze what is going on instead of suggesting the "Is you power cable plugged in?" type of questions. I have already tried all workarounds regarding this issue, the famous A12E1 error, but in my case the issue is specifically trying to install the Adobe Application Manager:

Thank youIf there's still any developer left in the fancy and deserted HQ in San Jose that still provides support, you might want to ask them what does Exit Code 5 means for them when installing AAM, since every developer uses exit codes in their own way, to check why is the install of Adobe Application Manager failing.

There's no easy scripted answer out of this issue, like I said, I already went through all the troubleshooting that was posted in your support forums and nothing worked. The only sure way to find the problem is to do it the proper way and find out what the error means. -
i made a dual boot of windows 7 and mac os x lion in my macbook pro .i installed m icrosoft support software also. now, can i install windows updates? do i turn on the automatic updating of updates?
yes you need the updates and patches.
Only some of the drivers that Windows will automatically install at times
and always make sure to insure it is using restore points
do all the maintenance andsuch as normal
use MS Security Essentials for AV is really top notch
Clean disk space
Use WinClone new program to inisure you have a restore image -
i made a dual boot of windows 7 and mac os x lion in my macbook pro .i installed m icrosoft support software also. now, can i install windows updates? do i turn on the automatic updating of updates? does hot fix of microsoft i.e, " support.microsoft.com/kb/979491" helps in stop freezing in dual boot mechanism?
Windows has a software updater built into Windows and when you install the Boot Camp drivers then it will install an Apple software updater also. I believe Windows is set to automatically download and install your updates as does the Apple software Updater. They both will update the individual files it needs to periodically.
"Microsoft updates" and "Windows updates" are basically the same thing in Windows. Are you talking about the "Windows support software" when downloading from Boot Camp Assistant? Apple installs a software updater for it's Boot Camp drivers in Windows 7 so you can do it manually or automatically.
The "Hot Fix" your referring to is only for certain motherboards built from other Windows only computer manufacturers and does NOT pertain to any Apple computers.
If you have a problem with your computer then it's best to ask a specific question so we can help better. -
Plese Help. Me have FAT 32 USB, ISO, Boot cam say can't install windows support software because the software update server "(null)" can't be found.
I know there are many other threads, but I guess I couldn't find clear answer to this problem. Is that the Apple's server problem or just me?
I'm trying to install Windows7 via Bootcamp, with FAT 32 formated USB with ISO, on Macbook air 2012.
Thanks! The problem is the encryption and how your notebook handles it rather than a Time Capsule problem. I had similar problems until I updated the WLAN drivers on my IBM T41.
The way I convinced myself it wasn't an Apple problem was to connect my IBM T41, via ethernet, to my AEBSn. I was able to connect to internet so I knew it was a conflict between my wireless card and the AEBSn.
I am now using the WPA2 encryption for the AEBS without issue and connecting many different types of hardware; three iPod Touches, two MSI Wind Netbooks (Win XP SP3), one IBM T41 (Win XP SP2) wirelessly and both my 20" iMac and Dell 8250 Win XP (SP2) by ethernet
The MSI Winds are brand new and they would connect to the AEBSn but couldn't get an IP address from the internet (Limited or No Connectivity error message). The AEBSn was using WEP encryption. After doing a little research I found that WEP was a very common cause of this error message so I switched the AEBSn to WPA2 and everything works fine now.
Don't assume that because you can't connect via OPEN it isn't a encryption issue because my Winds wouldn't connect that way either...it wasn't until I changed to the WPA2 Personal that they connected.
You may also need to change the program that handles the WLAN connection, sometimes Windows handles it better but for the newest addition to our household, the MSI Winds, I am using the Realtek utility that matches the WLAN card and everything is hunky dory...
Finally sometimes firewalls will prevent getting the IP address...doesn't happen often but it has happened to me so I would double-check that by turning off the Windows Firewall and just verify that it isn't the firewall (that's never been a problem with my Apple AEBSn but it was a problem with an older Dlink g model). -
2007 MBP 10.7.2 - Boot Camp "Can't Install Windows Support Software"
For a few weeks now I've been trying to get Boot Camp going to install Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro. Whenever I go through the assistant, I always get the message "Can't install Windows Support Software becuase it is not currently available from the Software Update server".
The download bar does progress a bit as data is being downloaded, but then stops at about 15% and gives me that error message. Any ideas? From what I've read the "Download Update" option as you install Lion only works for some MBAirs and it's a hit or miss on all others. (mostly a miss).
You might do a Search on the error you get as there are quite a few discussions on those problems. -
Can't install security update 2011-04 it says it can not validate the contents. Any advice on how to be able to download it?
Hi G,
If you're not using Software Update (in the Apple menu), use that.
If you are using SU and getting that message, try going to http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and downloading it, then install it. -
