I can't install any add-ons in muse

I can't install any add-ons in muse or download the .mulib file to install it manually. Please, help. Also, it's pointless to download the .zxp file since Adobe Extension Manager does not support Muse. Any advice?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See:
* [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

  • Can't install any add-ons after upgrading to Firefox 4.. tried about:config, still nothing. How come?

No matter which add-on I try to install, it says, "Software Installation is currently disabled. Click enable and try again." .. I've tried clicking enable as well as going to about:config and toggling xpi.enabled.. still nothing. Please help.

    Ok. Fixed it.

If anyone has (had) the same problem, and you have a lot of bookmarks you don't wanna lose, make sure you back them up on your old profile as a saved file--on your desktop, create a new profile, and then import them in your new profile.

  • Can't install any add-on if FF4.0.1

I have 2 versions of FF, latest 14.x and also 4.0.1 which I want to keep. I start both with different profiles using
    path_to_firefox.exe -P profile_name -no-remote
With 14.x I have no problems, but can't install any add-on in 4.0.1 - I tried installing from web or from a .xpi file - in both cases the download progress bar fills to 100% and then stays there forever, without proceeding further.
Is there a way to manually install an add-on? By this I don't mean from .xpi file, but really manually - if I extract .xpi contents, where should I place the files, and which other files I have to modify to have an add-on working?
    OS is XP sp3 pro 32-bit US-English

  • Am not able to install any add-ons in Firefox 11 and the suggested fixes here don't seem to work. Any suggestions?

Installed Firefox 11 and no add-ons display. Tried to install Autofill Forms and I get the message "There was an error installing AutoFill Forms. Try Again" Same for any other add-on. Also running Norton 360V6 and can't even see Norton Toolbar. Have uninstalled and reinstalled both Firefox and 360 (the latter using Norton Removal Tool). Do not have this problem with Internet Explorer or with Firefox 11 on my other computers. Just this one. Plugins from an earlier version of Firefox show up, but not any Add-Ons.

Maybe try the [[Basic Troubleshooting]] article first?

  • Certificate Error when Trying to Install any Add-Ons

I am unable to install any extensions since going to version 13. Ive tried just about everything. Safe mode, uninstall, reinstall, deleting my profile etc. Each time all I get is a certificate error. Even if I go to the Mozilla add-ons site its blocked by a certificate error.
Using the portable version of Firefox does the same thing. Has anyone ever seen this before?
Here is an example of what I see.

    Hi,
I guess the picture did not work. The error I get is: This Connection is Untrusted, services.addons.mozilla.org. At the bottom it states: Technical Details
services.addons.mozilla.org uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.

  • Facebook and Firefox does not recognise Firefox as my browser.Unable to install any add-ons from Firefox.

This all happened suddenly by itself. I did not install any new programs or software of any kind. I have Norton security software, but this has been installed on my PC for 6 months without any problems. I have uninstalled Firefox3.6,10. And reinstalled it, but it does not solve the problems.

The user agent string may have been modified, try resetting it as shown here - [[Websites or add-ons incorrectly report incompatible browser]]

  • Muse won't install any Add-ons

The Adobe add-on site is all fun until you try to install something to muse.
Adobe Exchange puts a good show "installing" the add-on but they never actually appear on Muse.
WHen possible and available,  I try to get the  .mulib files directly from the developer as Adobe's .zxp files are useless.
I have paid for several of this widgets and add-ons yet they never appear on Muse. I feel cheated.
Is there a something I should check on or enable for Muse so see this widgets?

Muse widgets work slightly differently from other Adobe Application add-ons in that they do not automatically install into Muse directly. They install into your computer's Downloads folder. You should always read the Where to Find it information for each Add-on which explains this fully.

  • I can't add any add ons at all

I can't use any add-ons, themes, etc. All of them cause my nav bar to turn red and say I haven't enough data for that site. I'm afraid a virus will creep in if I use any add-ons. What fun is a browser that you can personalize. I know I have beta, but even reg FF was doing this. I have win xp and can't update just yet. I'm not sure what else I can do. I had to begin FF all over again with new data, just to get rid of the add-ons and red nav bar. Are you going to fix this? It's not just one add-on it's all of them.

I am unable to update any add-ons at all. Every time I try and install an add-on or even the new "show hidden add-ons" add-on, I get a server error. How do I fix this?

You may have triggered some intermittent database issues but it should be running smooth by now. Let us know if you still see server errors.
Also, if your addons appear to go missing after updating there is a workaround http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/09/28/issue-discovered-with-firefox-add-on-upgrades/ And there is a 7.0.1 fix on its way.

  • After automaticly updated to the version 7 the extensions page in the Add-ons Manager went blank and give this sentence "you don't have any add-ons of this type installed" but all the add-ons still working in the program

All the add-ons I had installed for the version 3+++ still working at the version 7, but the problem is that the extensions page in the add-ons manager is blank except a sentence that says "You don't have any add-ons of this type installed"

  • My firefox version is 3.6.12, however I cannot download any add-ons cause it says I am still using version 2, and it is the same for website such as youtube where it is always saying I am using a outdated browser. How do I solve this?

I keep updating my firefox whenever it prompts me to, and now I am using version 3.6.12, but I still cannot download any add-ons or have problem using youtube cause they still says I am using a older version of the browser.
But when I go Help > About Mozilla Firefox, I am sure I have the latest version and no more updates can be found.

You have or had an extension installed (MegaUpload toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.12 to Firefox/2.0.0.13
You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page:
    * general.useragent.extra.firefox Firefox/2.0.0.13 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.<br />
    Filter: general.useragent<br />
If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.

  • I dont have any Add-ons with my FireFox. After upgrade to the latest version 26.0 I'm keep getting Script error "chrome://global/content/binding/popup.xml:580"

  • Why has my Firefox become so slow, even though I don't have any add-ons?

    Resetting Firefox doesn't help either..

''However, Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.670.1 has been blocked...''
The Java Deployment Toolkit plugin (also called Java DT) is a specialized plugin designed for web developers and network administrators and is not related to your general usage of Java (and is not required to be running to enable Java content in the browser.) It's "highly unlikely" this is the source of your browser slowdown. Oracle likes to "bundle" this plugin with Java SE for unknown reasons. Mozilla still considers Java DT to be vulnerable, and has considered it to be vulnerable for a long time...that's why you see this message (and probably will continue seeing it, unless you delete the plugin.) You can delete this plugin from the list of firefox plugins, but it will probably come back when you update Java. If you're interested in reading/talking more about specifically Java DT, we made a thorough discussion thread at the mozillazine support forum here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2877359
Sounds like you could benefit from disabling all Java content in the browser. How that is accomplished is explained in the above thread.
