I can't install bootcamp drivers on my Windows 7 partition.

As of now I am trying to run 32 Bit Windows 7 on my mid 2011 13 inch Mac Book Air. I downloaded my version of Windows from Onthehub.com and went thru the process of coverting it to an ISO file, putting it on a flash drive, downloading the support software, partitioning my hardrive thru bootcamp and installing the software. After figuring out how to select the hard drive partition I wanted to boot into I created my user account and began going thru the process of trying to install the drivers. The first round of drivers I tried to install were Bootcamp 5.1 drivers which were geared for 64 bit Windows 7, and did not work. After surfing the support forums I then downloaded Bootcamp 4 and tried to install those drivers instead. The bootcamp setup driver currently does not want to load for me. I have tried removing my admin privileges and reinstalling the Bootcamp 4 zip file--seperate events--but have met the same message: This software is not intended for this computer. Based on my research the macbook air I have should be able to run 32 bit Windows 7 and Bootcamp 4. Everything else about running this operating system has gone off without a hitch, but not being able to use my track pad to right click or my volume buttons is pretty inconvenient. Anything obvious that I've missed, I'm a music teacher by trade so its more than likely that I missed something obvious... like asking the computer nicely... thanks folks!

if you are not going to be playing advanced 3d games ditch bootcamp and install your 32bit version of windows in virtualbox or another of the virtualmachines then it will work and if you use timemachine for backup it will include a backup of your windows which it dont do when you use bootcamp

Mac mini 2010, can't install bootcamp drivers

My brother's computer (mid 2010 Macmini) has previously been partioned with a Windows 7 32 bit system. Under bootcamp 4 we could install Windows 7 32 bit system, plus drivers and it was used for playing games on Steam. The partition was removed so it could be increased and in the process updated the Apple side software to 10.8.5, which installed bootcamp 5.
Bootcamp 5 won't use our 32 bit install disk, so we went through the process of getting a 64 bit install disk and it installed without a problem. Now the drivers on the PC side as downloded by Bootcamp 5 won't work. I get the error message "Bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model". So my next step was to download the bootcamp 4 drivers and they also do not work. I get the error message "this version of bootcamp is not intended for this computer model". I have had a look around and can't find anyone with the exact same issue.
Also the "troubleshoot capatability" fix doesn't work I have tried it. Can anyone help?

Cool - now to find out about sharing data across platforms.
Since Vista needs its system partition to be NTFS, you can read files from while in Mac OSX, but can't write to NTFS without additional help.
Either Paragons NTFS for Mac http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/ or NTFS-3G http://www.ntfs-3g.org/ enable OSX to write to NTFS partitions.
The access your Mac OSX from Vista you can use MacDrive http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive/
Or use an external harddisk with the FAT32 file system, since Mac OSX and Vista can read and write to/from FAT32.
But note that FAT32 has a built-in single-file size limitation of about 4GB.

Can't install mac drivers for a windows 7 installation

Hi all,
I am new to Apple and have a brand new 27 inch iMac. I am trying to install Windows 7 on it, and after much much slow progress, I thought I was almost there.
I followed the instructions carefully, and have gotten to the stage where I have a bootable version installed on the iMac, I have - 2 actually - downloaded DVDs with bootcamp and the Mac supported software, but when I follow the instruction that says double click on setup.exe to install the drivers, all I get is an error notice that says "this program cannot be run undos mode". I am further confused by whether I should be attempting to run this program under win 7 or Mac, but since I can't do anything under win 7', the screen does not respond, I am at a loss.
Help much appreciated.

Got it!
Just needed to use a standard keyboard and mouse, and not the Apple Bluetooth ones.
Turned on iMac, held alt key down to turn on windows 7, and new keyboard worked, and let me navigate into disk drive via windows, click on install, and here I am watching it doing just that!

Can't install bootcamp 2.1 on windows vista 64

Hi, I'm trying to install bootcamp 2.1 on vista 64, I've tried through ASU (Apple Software Update) and Downloaded the version avaliable on apple support page. ASU says it can't install it. And the downloaded version simply crashes with no message.

Thanks for your reply, my macbook model is the correct, I bought it last week. So, I tried the description on the other article but it still gives me the following error: "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transforms are valid.".
I believe I don't have anything special installed, just installed basic stuff for my work like .net framework and visual studio.

In the OSX BootCamp Assistant did you download the "Windows Support Software" (aka BootCamp Windows Drivers) and installed them after the Windows Installation ?
The Boot Camp - Installation & Setup Guide (OS X Lion) describes how-to do this.
OSX 10.7 Lion does not come on a disc.

I can't install, repair, or remove BootCamp drivers from my Windows installation

I have Windows XP SP3 installed on my Macbook Pro. When I installed Windows originally it failed to completely install BootCamp drivers, so I don't have advanced trackpad and keyboard features. I've downloaded the latest BootCamp drivers v3.2 that still run XP, but I always get a message saying that "the installer has encountered an unexpected error installin this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753." I don't have anything in C:/Program Files/Bootcamp (It doesn't exist), and the Bootcamp icon in Control Panel doesn't work.
I can't install, remove, or repair the drivers, not even using the software that came with my Mac OS X install DVD. On the Mac side, I'm running Snow Leopard. I've searched Google for help and couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any ideas? I've already gone through the registry and removed a bunch of Apple-related stuff, but it didn't help.

At last I got it all to work. I had to go into the registry and delete all references to Apple software and drivers. Some of the entries were locked, and I had to change permissions to allow me to delete them, which was probably the reason the installer kept failing. I finally got Boot Camp 3.0 installed off the Snow Leopard DVD and then upgraded to 3.2. I had a hickup with the trackpad drivers which didn't work, but I found a fix online -- the drivers labeled "TouchPad" were banged out, and I had to switch them to Generic USB Human Interface and then back to Apple TrackPad drivers, which fixed the problem. Now everything is working beautifully with multi-gesture touch pad and keyboard extensions. Yay!!!!!

Read and follow the Boot Camp guide. It sounds like you are trying to install the drivers while booted to OSX. The drivers get loaded from within Windows.

I dont have my leopard disk, where can i find bootcamp drivers for vista?

Hopefully, he gave you a $130 discount off the price, since you're going to have to buy a new Leopard disk. You should never have a machine without a system disk for it, since you'd be unable to recover without one if something went wrong. I don't know if you'll need it for those bootcamp drivers, but you will need it sooner or later.
(Technically, what he did is illegal... if he didn't give you the disk, he should not have given you a machine with the system installed. You're also in a bad legal position, by using a system that you do not own a copy of.)

How can I install gutenprint drivers for my Epson Stylus Color 440?

Good day all!
I have and old and useful printer -Epson Stylus Color 440- and just bougth a cable for connecting it to USB port. Add a new print on its Print and Scan Preference Panel and it was recognized inmediatly, but I was told there was not any driver to that printer.
Tried to set "Epson Stylus Color Series" on its driver but when I went to print, printer seemed to work but does not eject any ink. It seemed as if I were ran out of ink; its car moved over the places occupied by the photo and sounded as normal printing, but not a drop of ink. I checked on an older windows pc, and ink is full, printed normally. I also looked for its drivers on Epson pages, but it seems there are only available for previos Mac OSs, not for X.
A son told me that in his Snow Leopard MacBook White there's a dirver called "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" on his Print and Scan Driver Menu; haven't tried to print from his MacBook yet, and as I searched, those are open drivers.
I wonder if I can download and install that "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" from the web, of if there's a way to copy it from my son's Macbook, when he comes and check.

How to install bootcamp drivers on Windows 8?

Hello,
Today I decided to install Windows 8 onto my Mac Pro running 10.8.5 in order to play games on Steam. I started BootCamp assistant and made a 65GB partition for Windows 8, and when I tried to install Windows I unchecked the top box (not sure what it said now). Now I have a Windows computer, I CANNOT get back to OS X. The Mac Pro will not boot into OS X, it just goes straight to Windows every time. I've read that there should be some place in Windows to switch back, but I cannot find it. I tried holding down the option key upon boot up at the gray screen, it still goes straight to Windows. I tried holding command R at the boot up screen, it goes straight to Windows. HELP!! I picked the 60.5GB partition to install on, could it have somehow erased my OS X partition? Is there a way to install bootcamp drivers from Windows?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If a clean installation of Windows 8 has been performed, Bluetooth is not present and does not work on your notebook. It is necessary to install two driver components manually to activate the Bluetooth functionality.

By Microsofts Design no Windows can be installed and booted from external HDs. BootCamp just follows this.

Parallels is an OS X application which don't need a restart of your Mac to run Windows.
Therefor you can run OS X and Parallels Windows side-by-side.
Main drawback is, that Windows runs not native (on the real hardware) but in a virtualized environment.
While this is more than acceptable for 'standard' Office programs, any program that needs direct hardware access (especially games and 3D-programs) either do not run at all or run at noticeable slower speed.
Also you have to realize that the amount of RAM in your Mac is divided between OS X and Parallels Windows.

BootCamp is no option then, since it needs a reboot everytime you want to switch between OS X and Windows.
Parallels (and VMWare Fusion and VirtualBox, BTW) run alongside OSX.

You have two possibilities:
1. Buy the USB SuperDrive and install Windows from a disc.
2. Use an USB drive with the Windows 7 installer inside.
Boot Camp isn't compatible with Windows 8, so you will have to wait. Also, the Late 2012 is only compatible with the 64-bit Windows 7 edition

Look as a part of right click-2fingers at a same time you should press on the touchpad.
and check your macbook,the slot where you put the speakers wire if the drivers are not install then a red light will come from it and if not then it means that the drivers are all install.

Can I install an OEM version of Windows 7 on my Mac?

I am completely unfamiliar with windows terminology. I ordered a copy of Windows 7 64-bit and when it came it said OEM on it and had all these warnings that it had to be preinstalled on a computer and I assumed it was like the software that comes with a Mac that you can only install on that one machine. I returned it unopened because I was afraid it wouldn't work. Since then I've read on these boards that OEM is a system builder, and it's cheaper, which is why I got it, and can only be used on one machine. But it sounds like I could install it on one Mac. I don't really care about installing it on more than one machine. So my question is, is that correct? can I install an OEM version of Windows 7 on one Mac? I wanted to check, because although it's cheaper, it's still almost $100 and I didn't want to waste that if I opened it and it didn't work. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I plan to use parallels by the way, but I am posting on this board because it was suggested that you folks know the most about windows.
