I can't install Premiere Elements 12 as part of my Photoshop Elements 12 installation

I recently purchased Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements combined software from Dell.  The software was delivered via their Download Store with a download link for digital delivery. I downloaded the software onto my computer and initiated the install.  At the completion the only thing I actually had on my computer was Photoshop Elements 12 --  no Premiere Elements 12.  I don't know what I did wrong, but when I called Dell Tech Support for assistance they told me to contact Adobe support.

Have you looked in Program Files to check if it is installed?
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 12
If so double click on the Editor (click image below) to launch it. Otherwise yiou need to go back to the download, extract the files and double-click on Setup.exe for PRE12.

What are the computer operating systems involved? Are you installing from installation files (from online download purchase) or from installation disc
(from purchase in boxed packaging)? Answers to those questions would probably get you the best possible answer to your question.
    If installation files.....
You are not going to be able to install a Premiere Elements Windows purchased serial number on a Mac computer or a Premiere Elements Mac
purchased serial number on a Windows computer.
    If installation discs...
Box packaging typically comes with two installation discs....one for Windows and one for Mac. In this type of situation, typically you use one
serial number for them both. If that is the case, then the following applies...
Adobe allows you to use the same purchased activated serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. And, you do not use them at the same time.
If you are dealing with two computers with the same operating system, then you should be able to use that same purchased serial number for that operating system on no more than 2 of your computers. Again, you do not use them at the same time.
Please let us know if any questions or need clarification.
    Thanks.

  • Can't install Premiere Elements 11 from a DVD

I have a disk that has photoshop and premiere (Adobe Elements 11). The Photoshop installed with no problem but when I go to install Premiere, the Install
shield Wizard comes up and runs but then cuts off when I click OK on the windows installer menu. It looks just like the picture below.
My computer is a Windows 7, it has 500GB free space, 8GB RAM, 64-bit Operating System, i5 2.5GHz processor
I've downloaded the installer program off of the internet and it did the exact same thing, I also downloaded the CD to my computer with the exact same results.

this looks like the same problem (albeit for pse 10), Premiere Elements 10 will not install - msiexec issue?

  • I can't install Premiere Elements 9 - No error reported

I just can't install it, it reaches a point, almost near the end, where it just starts running back, and the bar discharges, and then it just says thath my computer has not been modified. Any ideas? I've tried running it as an administrator and closing Kaspersky. Do you think it may be the space? There are 30gb free in my C drive.
    Thanks-

Could I please request you to provide following log files so that we can debug issue : -
    1) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\Elements STI Installers 1.0 <Date of installation failure in mm-dd-yyyy format>.log.gz
    2) Start -> Run -> %Temp% -> PRE9.log
Further, if you can attach screenshot of error then it would be great.
Further, I would like to give following suggestions: -
    1) Try to install PRE by keeping Setup.exe at location other than C:\users..... or desktop.
    2) Before installing PRE, make sure that you have closed all adobe applications.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How can I install Premiere Elements for XP using CDs on to a Vista laptop?

I am decommission old desktop with XP but installing on to a Vista laptop fails at point of installing Window Media 9

Thanks for replying. Version 1. it did eventually install! Even though I get the message "the currently installed sound card driver does not support Direct Sound Input. Recording audio is not possible" I am not sure if this really matters. I can load video media and it plays sound. I am decommissioning on XP desktop to a not quite so old laptop so it looks like I will be able to transfer old Elements files which I did not want to loose just yet. So far so good.

  • Can't install Premiere Elements 4

I've tried at least five times to install PE4 to my laptop to no avail.  Each time, the same error occurs and the whole thing backtracks.  I've tried copying the DVD to the hard drive and installing dirrectly, I've tried defragmenting my PC, I've tried clean booting my PC before installing, I've scanned the disc files for virises and corruption.  I'm completely out of ideas.  It is very frustrating.

    What error are you receiving?
Which operating system are you trying to install PSE4 on?
Since PSE4 is such ancient software, it may simply be incompatible with your computer system.

Did you purchased Premiere Elements 11 from an Adobe download? If so, did you double check http://www.adobe.com Welcome AlaskaBreeCharlie/My Orders and My Products for the download? Or, did you have an installation disc instead?
Depending on the circumstances, you could contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat to inquire about getting additional Premiere Elements 11 download
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=orders-refunds-and-exc hanges
Click on the above link. When it opens, click on the statement "I still need help" to bring up the Adobe Chat to discuss
    "Orders, Refunds, and Exchanges".
Also, you might consider downloading the Premiere Elements 11 tryout from the following web site and inserting your purchased Premiere Elements 11 serial number in it.
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
It is important that you read carefully the Note: Very Important Instructions message at the web site. Otherwise, you will run into Access Denied message.
Please review and let us know the outcome.

  • Trying to install Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 7 but keep getting error message 'A reduced set of content has been installed' - help!

We bought Premiere Elements 10/Photoshop Element 10 a while ago and it worked brilliantly on our Window XP machine, but since we moved to Windows 7 last year we can't get Premiere Elements 10 to work properly and always get the error message 'A reduced set of content (Instant Movie Themes, Title and Menu templates, etc) has been installed. You can install the full content by inserting your Content DVD or downloading it. Do you want to install now?'. So I've tried reinserting the DVDs and installing them. I've uninstalled all the software and started again, but each time I get the same message at the end of the process. I've spoken to the computer shop I bought the computer from and they say Windows 7 is incompatible, but that doesn't seem to be what the Adobe web site says. Please, any advice welcome as I've got a year's worth of videos I need to edit.
    Thank you!

Are you working with Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit? What video card/graphics card does your computer use? NVIDIA GeForce? And, are you doing your download and installing with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Premiere Elements 12 is compatible with Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
If you have tried to obtain the Premiere Elements 10 Content from the installation disc labelled for Content for your version and operating system and that is not working, then can try downloading and installing the Content from the following Adobe link if you do not decide to click on the message to initiate the content download from within the program.

  • Msiexec error when installing Premiere Elements

I had a very disappointing time with support and still cannot install my new copy of PS Premiere Elements.
I downloaded the softare. Installed the PS Elements. It was smooth.
I then tried to install Premiere Elements and it does not work.
When I started the .exe it asked for a place to extract files. I did this. Then it tried to install. But after a while I get this box with the msiexec commands listed in it. Eg.
    Windows ® Installer. V 3.01.4001.5512
    msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter]
    Install Options
                    </package | /i> <Product.msi>
                                    Installs or configures a product
                    /a <Product.msi>
Administrative install - Installs a product on the network
                    /j<u|m> <Product.msi> [/t <Transform List>] [/g <Language ID>]
Advertises a product - m to all users, u to current user
                    </uninstall | /x> <Product.msi | ProductCode>
                                    Uninstalls the product
    Etc etc etc.
And then finished with an error that it was not installed.
I then manually clicked on setup.exe I then got a screen asking for language, but then I get a windows showing again options for using msiexec command.
When I try using the Adobe Premiere Elements 10.msi then i get an error
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - Setup
Install Adobe Premiere Elements 10 using the setup.exe in the root folder.
I called support. They had me extract files into a folder off of  eg C:\PS
I did this. Started the setup.exe, Same error as above msiexec.
He then had me install it with the runas administrator. I tried same error.
He then told me to create a new account on the computer with admin privileges. I didn’t really like this, but  I did this . And restarted the setup but still same msexec error.
The support person said it was an admin error. Sadly I think he is wrong, he just read the message and quickly gave the first thing he could think of. I asked him why he felt that, and he said based on the error. However sadly I don’t believe he is understanding the “error” He saw the words  “Administrative install - Installs a product on the network” (see above) and quickly said oh its an admin problem. I didn’t realize at the time that this is not really an error message regarding the administrator, but just the output of a badly formed command, with a default output of a badly formed command.
    Let me explain..
What I believe is that somehow the script that is running the install is trying to run the msexec program and the output is simply the output of the msexec program when the parameters are not right. In fact if you open a dos prompt and type msiexec you get the exact same output. The error is not really an error but just the output like any other of a command with no perimeters. Like if you type defrag or copy from the command prompt with out the right parameters. The command gives a response. For some reason the support person saw the word “administrator” and quickly jumped to the conclusion oh its an administrator issue that was the error. The support person kept asking me if that was all and was definitely trying to get rid of me. It quite frankly was very disappointing that he didn’t know this how to resolve the issue and just wanted me to go away.
Can anyone tell me how to install this program. I am on a domain and have both domain and local passwords. Im using windows XP.
By the way I tried using
ok, i fnally was able to extract the files, enter serial numbers, and run the program, I'm testing the program now
the problem is adobe's fault, a faulty script or something on the dvd.
in my situation, to get this program installed, i decided to do the following:
    1) optional: copy the install dvd to hard drive.
    2) locate the adobe premiere elements 10.msi file.
    3) type in    msiexec /a "adobe premiere elements 10.msi" /qb TARGETDIR="C:\tempfolder"
    to unpacked the msi archive.
    4) go into the c:\tempfolder/programfiles/Adobe
    5) optional: copy or move the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 folder into your c:\Program Files\Adobe  folder so it sits with the rest of your adobe programs
    6) you have to make your own desktop icon
    7) when you go into the premiere elements folder click on Adobe Premiere Elements.exe to start the program
    8) it may tell you to download the Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager
so download it if necessary.  the ApplicationManager2.0_all.exe file will silently install.
this does work HOWEVER, it doesnt really install it with all the registry etc. and doesnt integrate it into the PSE. So I dont think this is really the right option.
Oviously it should install properly. (thanks anyway)

    Thanks Jeff for helping.
The version of the install software is definetely 32 bit. eg its PremiereElements_10_LS15_win32.exe with the corresponding win32 zipped file.
BTW the fact that I can extract the files and then run the program as a stand alone program means I think? that it is the right version and can run on this computer. Its obviously an install issue it seems.
The version of XP i have is XP prof sp3 version 5.1 build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209-1647
Based on your comment regarding the install version, I found and downloaded the 4.5 version of the msiexec software. Tried to install the PE again and got the same error ... EXCEPT that now the output comes from the 4.5 version instead of the previous version. eg.
    Windows ® Installer. V 4.5.6001.22159
    msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter]
    Install Options
    </package | /i> <Product.msi>
      Installs or configures a product
    /a <Product.msi>
Administrative install - Installs a product on the network
    /j<u|m> <Product.msi> [/t <Transform List>] [/g <Language ID>]
Advertises a product - m to all users, u to current user
    </uninstall | /x> <Product.msi | ProductCode>
      Uninstalls the product
    etc etc.
So obvously the new installer got installed, but still the install process doenst work.
    Any further ideas.
