I can't install Reader XI

Hi, I am having problems to install Reader XI, when I donwload the file, and executed it, it starts the proccess of installing it, when it seems that is finishing, suddenly shows an error in installation and shows me this message:
I tried everything I could find as guide here on adobe.com but nothing is working...
What can I do?
Thanks,
Konrad

If you hsve tried everything I may be wasting my time, but you can try using this tool to remove all traces of Reader:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

Run the installation on your sync pc... the installation application will run only on a pc, then, activesync installs it on your winmobile device on the next connect session.

  • Can I install Reader via GPO

    Hello,
I've got an organisation (about 100 PC's/Laptop) that has multiple versions of the Reader software, going back to 8.1.0.  I'd like to get everybody up to the same version, but the quantity (and geographic locations) of machines means that's all I'd do.  I've recently started using GPO to install some software, so my questions are:
Is it possible to install Reader via GPO.
If it is possible do the users need administrative privileges to the machine or can the they be normal users?
    Thanks in advance

See this document for some information on Adobe Reader deployment: http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/reader/pdfs/deploying_reader9.pdf (sorry, I don't know if there is a new document specific for Adobe Reader X).
Also, you can download MSI installers

  • Can't install Reader for Pocket PC on Motorola i920

I have a Nextel (Sprint) Motorola i920 smartphone with Windows Mobile 2003. I can run the Reader install on my laptop (XP) with ActiveSync running and everything goes fine until  it tries to install on the the phone. I get a message saying the program cannot be installed because it's not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. FYI this isn't the only software i've tried to install; so far they all have refused to install for the same reason.

The software would not install, having downloaded the dot exe from Adobe.
We have resolved the issue, through using a cleanup tool,
    Thanx, for the post.

  • Can I instal Reader to a drive other than C:?

Is someone able to tell me how to instal Reader to a drive other than C:?
I am trying to free up space on C: and prefer to load the Reader files into another drive, but I did not see an option to do that when downloading, and the installer just starts automatically without prompting for a target folder.

Use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and click on Change Destination Folder

  • Can't install Reader v9.3.0 from PSE DVD-ROM disc in Windows 7

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements, which includes Adobe Acrobat Reader v9.3.0 on the DVD-ROM. When I first installed Photoshop Elements, I was able to successfully install Reader v9.3.0 onto my system, and it ran fine under Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. But, then I was trying to install it directly to my flash drive so that I'll have a working copy of Reader v9.3.0 wherever I go (I had done this previously, but I'm not sure if it was v9.3.0 or not).
When I was unable to successfully run the installer, I figured it was because Reader was already installed on my system, so I uninstalled it in order to run the installer and install it onto my flash drive, then I was planning to reinstall it onto my system (hard drive).
What exactly I am experiencing is this: I am able to initiate the installation and bring up the processing screen. The ticker bar tracks up to “99.90%” before it closes (or disappears). Then, nothing happens. I wait for several minutes, and still, nothing happens.

Reader 9 won't run from a flash drive (not even a U3 drive). Believe me I've tried it.
There are portable PDF readers out there. The best and one I use is Foxit http://www.snapfiles.com/get/FoxitReaderU3.html

Ok. So I've got an old Vista machine.... I can download the Reader 10 installer....it's about one meg.  I can launch it.  It does appear to run, but it never installs.  No error messages.  Launching as Admin produces the same result.

  • Can't install Reader "Already installed"

So I had a problem with Reader where it gave me an error message saying ReaderSomething.msi (I don't really remember the name) could not be found. So I tried to uninstall reader to then install it again. Though when I tried to uninstall, some files did not want to be removed, in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Resource\CMap\  Identity-H and Identity-V. I tried to remove them myself, but for some reason they, or the map Reader 11.0 cannot be removed. I tried to re-install Reader by downloading the latest ver from the website, but when I tried to install it says that reader already is installed, but it isn't. This is very annoying. I have tried to remove every single reader file, including the ones in ProgramData. But still it says reader is already installed. A screenshot won't help, because it's just the installer that says ☑ Already installed
What do I do to make this work? I am using Windows 7 64-bit.

A simple batch, well why didn't I think of that myself...
A slight edit of the file could work for future problems too..
    @echo off
    @setlocal enableextensions
    @cd /d "%~dp0"
    echo.
echo Please paste the full key path.
    set /p key=
    subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /setowner=users
    subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /grant=users=F
    subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /setowner=administrators
    subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /grant=administrators=f
    reg DELETE %key% /va /f
    cls
    echo.
    echo Key deleted.
    pause
    exit
Not sure if that would work though...
Anyways, thank you very much. The file deleted the key (though it's still shown in the registry, but who gives a damn) I could install Reader and it works perfectly!
And I must say, thanks again for the fast and great support!

  • Can't install reader 9.1 / conflict with professional 6.0?

Since I installed Professional 6.0, I am unable to view a lot of web sites which use the reader 8 or 9.
When I click it opens professional 6.0 which does not work for the web sites. (if there is a link and I can dowload the document, I am able to open it.
When I download reader 9.1, it will install to a point and then give me an error and won't finish the install.
What should i do? Is there a conflict between the 2 programs?
I had an older version of the reader before installing the prof 6.0.
    Your advice is appreciated.
    Fred

There is a conflict. You should remove both and install one and only one. It sounds like you need Acrobat Pro 9.0

  • Can't install Reader Extensions

    Hello, every one!
I'm trying to install ES4 with ReaderExtensions and Barcoded Forms. And I can't access ReaderExtensions after installation, I recieve 404 error.
Here is how I've configured my ES4 installation:
After choosing 2 modules (Reader Extensions and Barcoded Forms) for install on one of the configuration manager screens, configuration manager have prepared 5 ear archives:

    - adobe-core-native-jboss-x86_win32.ear
    - adobe-lc-launchpad.ear
    - adobe-reader-extensions-servlet.ear
After that, I moved them to [root]\jboss\server\lc_sqlserver\deploy and restarted JBoss. But it result in errors:

so, I've tried to delete adobe-formdataintegration-jboss.ear from JBoss deploy folder and restart JBoss again.
    Now I can access adminui.
But I still can not access htttp://localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions. I recieve 404 error.
I've tried to examine my environment:
    - There are two components (ReaderExtensionsService : 2.0 and ReaderExtensionsService : 1.0) here: Home > Services > Applications and Services > Service Management > Service Management > Category = Reader Extensions. And they are running.
    - adobe-formdataintegration-jboss.ear is surprisingly small: only 2Kb, also, it contains only META-INF folder with application and weblogicapplication xmls. Here is a content of application.xml file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE application SYSTEM "http://java.sun.com/dtd/application_1_3.dtd" PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD J2EE Application 1.3//EN">

    -<application> <display-name>FormDataIntegration</display-name> <description>This EAR contains the Adobe LiveCycle FormDataIntegration core module.</description> </application>
    - Log files from [root]\configurationManager\log and [root]\jboss\server\lc_sqlserver\log does not contain any errors during ear preparation proccess state.
    - While there are a lot of messages in [root]\jboss\server\lc_sqlserver\log\server.log about deploying adobe-core-jboss, it looks like. there is no messages about any manipulations with adobe-reader-extensions-servlet.
So, how can i fix this issue? How to make reader extensions run, and what should i do to remove  adobe-formdataintegration-jboss error correctly?

Above mentioned EARs aren't the correct one. There should be only three or atleast two(first two) as below :
    adobe-livecycle-jboss.ear
    adobe-livecycle-native-jboss-x86_win32.ear
    adobe-workspace-client.ear
Based on your selection, there might be upto 7 EARs. Once you configure the EARs using configuration manager, they must be present in <LiveCycle directory>\configurationManager\export directory.
LCM also displays this message (same for ES4 as well):
Make sure you are following the correct steps.
    Thanks,
    Wasil

  • How can I install Reader on a computer with no internet?

I have an old Dell laptop with XP on it. It can not hook up to the internet. I want to put Reader on it so I can use the laptop to open shop manuals I have that are Adobe (PDF) files. I've tried several times to download different versions of reader (on my new computer which I then put on a thumb drive) and it tries to install them but eventually towards the end seeks to connect to the internet to look for updates or whatever. There must be a way to download a copy of reader (probably an older version like 9) on my new laptop so I can copy the file to the old laptop and install it without the program needing to go to the internet for something. HOW???

Thank you Claudio. I tried your suggestion. It did not work. Here is what happens: once I double click on the saved (on a thumb drive), downloaded file (reader 9.5.0) it starts to install. When it gets to the end, a window opens that says "downloading MSI update..." which of course it can't since that computer will NOT connect to the internet (this is an old Dell 600 with XP unknown service pack on it). Then I get the error window: "Adobe bootstrapper for single installation has encountered a problem and needs to close" which stops the installation. Then another window with "error code 150210". This is what happens every time with every downloaded version of Adobe reader I've tried. Any other suggestions? Thanks a bunch.

  • Can't Install Reader 9.0

I get to 99.60% installed and I get a message "Older Verision of Adobe Reader 9 cannot be removed" What do I do now?
    Thanks Vicki

I'm back! I posted back in Sept., gave up trying to install 9.0. Saw no reply, but was suggested to go to windows installer for fix, but that produced another error.
I thought by now Adobe would have it fixed, so tried again. First pass said it's on a device or network that's unavailable (????)
Tried to install 8.0, but every site that offers it re-directs me to 'upgrade' to 9.0.
Strangely, while all this was going on, the 9.0 install completed. But I can't find the damn thing in my sys.
I don't understand why Adobe hasn't fixed this yet. If they don't want us to have it, why not just shut it down??
I found another reader named Foxit which looks like a solution.

Adode Reader will not install on my computer now! I always had it in the past, but now I'm just so frustrated with it. Any help would be so welcome.
I was wondering where I could get an old version, maybe that would work.
    Thank you.

Maybe you could give us some information like, what OS you are running, what version of Reader you are trying to install and what happens when you try and install it (with exact error messages if applicable). Also any other pertinent info you can give us would be great.
