I can't install The Journalist app

Using the app store I have come across the problem with trying to install apps that according to their description I meet the system requirements yet the app store application states that I cannot install those apps.
One example of this is the app called The Journalist (just a note taking app) free version. The app store states that minimum requirements are OS X 10.8 or later, 64-bit processor and I have Mac Mini OS X 10.6.8 with a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (which according to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3696 I do have a 64-bit processor). So why is the app store giving me following message... " We could not complete your purchase. The Journalist can't be installed on Mac because Mac OS X version 10.8 or later is required".
Can someone please shine some light on this issue?

You have OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and the App requires OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)

How can I install the proper App Store app to complete my upgrade?

I have Snow Leopard (10.6.8) installed on my iMac 27 (late 2010) but the app store app is not supported on this version. How can I get the proper app store app for SLP? My goal is to get back to Maverick.
I was running Maverick just fine but ran out of disk space. I had Best Buy install a Seagate 3TB drive. I reinstalled OS X 10.6.4 from my Install Disk. Then I upgraded the "software upgrades" to get 10.6.8. Somehow I upgraded the App Store app to a version that is not supported on my current version of 10.6.8.
I appear to be stuck. Unable to go to App Store to down load Maverick.
Also, with the new Seagate 3TB drive, the fan runs continuously. Any ideas how I can move forward?

Regarding your fan issue I believe I am correct in assuming BBY did not install the correct HD. My suggestion is to first do several SMC resets which are designed to help with running fans, carefully read http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964. for information on what a SMC reset addresses. You can find instructions for doing the SMC resets in https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3603. A SMC reset will ONLY help if the correct HD was installed though.
If the reset does not fix the issue then return the machine to BBY, inquire if the drive they use has heat sensors integrated into the HD they installed and if not then get them to install the correct HD to address the issue.

How can re-install the factory apps without the CD?

A friend has given me his old iMac. It is a 5.1 late 2006 17".
He has deleted some of the apps that were installed by the factory and I would like to re-install them but I do not have the CD that came with the iMac.
what can I do?

I would recommend just grabbing this disc from the Apple Store. You shouldn't need the original system disc, as this will get you the mac app store to get the iLIfe programs etc. It's advantageous to have an OS X disc for your iMac as you do not have the recovery partition that modern macs have. In addition to installing Snow Leopard, you can use this disc to do health checks on your boot partition etc.

You need to contact Apple, 1-800-MY-APPLE, and order OS X Snow Leopard 1.6 and install it upon your Mac. Then download and install the 10.6.8 update combo to have a Mac App Store.

Dear user, i've seen you have solved this problem for many users. But this didn't work for me :-(
Here's what happened:
I bought a Macbook Pro last year with Lion and iLife apps preinstalled.
Yesterday, for the first time, i made a clean install of Lion using my recovery partition. Everything worked out great. I installed the apps all over again.
However I can not find the iLife apps on the Mac now. They are not installed, and when i access the Mac App Store, i can't find them anywhere. I googled what could be happening but couldn't find anything that matched my problem, because:
- They are not listed under Purchases.
- I can unhide some apps, but not all apps that i have bought are being listed. For instance, i had bought Civilization 4, which i also did not see on the Purchases list. However, i could re-install it and it then said that i had already bought this, so its free. Only some apps are being listed under Purchases, it seems random.
When i search for iMovie and the others in the App Store, i can only click on the Accept button and then it says that these apps have already been accepted and assigned to my account. All seems to be ok, just that the apps do not show up anywhere on my Mac.
Do you have any solution for this? Would me sooooo appreciated!!

It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.

Lion comes with FaceTime. Look in your dock or in the Applications folder.

Also I had installed the Mosaic app for ipad before Lightroom mobile came out and I cannot seem to get rid of it. How can I get mosaic out? I have cancelled, I have deleted, I have looked through the files for visible remnants.

The sync count is 60 and static. The total number synced so far is 500+. None have been synced from the ipad except for corrections made there on those already synced.
I have deleted the Mosaic app from all machines and checked the library folder and have contacted the Mosaic tech support and they have discontinued my subscription. I still get mosaic messages on initiating Lightroom and sometimes at closing.
I have not tried to sync fewer yet, but some catalogs that I have tried are smaller numbers. Initially, it did well on good connections. Nothing works on my home connections over satellite.
