I can't install update Ver 3.6.13 because I do not have sufficient permission to access some items.

When I download Ver 3.6.13 the Downloading Update runs for several hours. On 12/15/10 I was successful. When I attempted to install, I was informed I did have not sufficient Permission to access some items”. But I was signed in as an Administrator. How can I get this update installed? Thanks Bob

* Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
* Install the new version that you have downloaded.

    hi
I had the same problem (update failed for normal user, update worked for administrator, but then normal user still got asked about installing the update even though it was already done).
Following the advice on http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_update#Software_Update_not_working_properly worked for me, in particular to remove the update-related xml files.

  • I have been using thelatest ver firefox. Noe I can not access it. I receive the following message" Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have appropriate permission to access. I am using windows XP ,

unable to access firefox. I receive the following message" Windows can not access the specified device, path or file. You may not have appropriate permission to access. I restored the system to an earlier date when I could access Firefox. I removed an re-installed firefox no changes.

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 13.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

You can try to repair the permissions for the Firefox application files and folders.
    You can also do this:
    * Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded.

    Hi,
Yes, Solution describe in 350251 - Creating a New or 2nd Oracle SID with runInstaller
    "THE SOLUTION"
The good news is the solution is very simple and takes a few seconds
    First cd /var/opt/oracle
You will find a file called oraInst.loc # cat oraInst.loc
    inventory_loc=/oracle/PR1/oraInventory
    inst_group=dba
Use vi or emacs to edit the file and change the inventory_loc to the directory of the oracle instance you are currently installing. ie inventory_loc=/oracle/PR2/oraInventory
Restart your oracle installer  eg. su - orapr2
    cd /oracle/stage/816_64
    setenv DISPLAY localhost:0.0
    ./runInstaller

Your only option will be to contact iTunes Store support and see if they can help you.  Click on this link and choose the Account Management option, and create a new case with iTunes Support.

  • Can't Empty trash because I "do not have sufficient privileges"

I accidentally downloaded a file: masterstarfieldissuing.crl from a internet security site. I put it in the trash which was empty apart from that file. Whenever I try to empty the trash I get the following message: "The operation cannot be continued because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items" Then whether I press continue or stop the trash does not empty.
I checked the permissions and make them all Read & Write but that did not make a difference. The file does not appear to be locked. It does not empty whether I give the command to empty by going to Finder/Empty Trash or by clicking on the Empty Trash command in the pop up menu that appears above the Trash icon in the Dock. If anyone has any suggestions about how I can get rid of this file let me know.
    Thanks,
    erpilgrim

Thanks again. I had tried that before, but it did not work. But now, after I rebooted my computer and the trash is working normally again (before I rebooted I realized that Trash was not able to delete any of the normal types of files I usually delete), DropNuke seems to act properly, at least with normal files. Thanks.

  • When I drag the update to my applications folder it says this error message: action cannot be completed because you not have suficient security privilages for some items.

  • Installed update of Firefox, but cannot drag into applications folder, it indicates that "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges", so how can I complete the install?

I try to drag the app into the applications folder where an old app of firefox exists and it asks me if I want to replace it and after i say yes it gives me the operation cannot be completed message.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
    *Firefox 9.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install

  • Dialog box says "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privliges for some of the items." How can I install it in my Aplications folder?

I am running 10.5.8 on a quad core 3.0 GHz Mac Pro. Have 2 GB RAM, and 2TB Hard drive with 538 GB space remaining. Have never had this dialog happen before.

I assume you are attempting to install a newer version of Firefox?
    It seems the solution is:
    # Download a new version of Firefox to your Desktop.
    # Delete the current version in your Applications folder.
    # Install the newly downloaded version.
Note: Your bookmarks and other data will not be affected.
