I get a error message:

Hi.
Is this the complete error message?
A common problem:
Did you check, that you have the right permission on the PCD folder com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms.
Depending on your SP you will need the EndUser permission or even the Read permission on this PCD folder to enter a room.

Providing basic set of Forums Iviews.
After deploying forum application to your portal, you need to make the Forums Homepage and Forums Administrative functions accessible via Portal iViews.
Procedure: Create custom iView Template
SAP recommends to create a custom iView template as a delta link copy of the standard iView template delivered by SAP. The specific configuration of your custom iView template is not affected by new deployments.
1. In the portal, choose Content Administration -> Portal Content.
2. In the Portal Content Studio, open the folder Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Templates -> iView Templates.
3. In the context menu of the Collaboration Forums iView choose Copy.
4. Locate the target folder (a folder of your choice) and in its context menu choose Paste as Delta Link.
5. Rename the custom iView template so that in the iView creation wizard you can distinguish the specific iView template from the default one.
You may need to restart the cluster in order to see your custom iView template in the list of iView templates when you create a new iView.
Create Administrator iViews(Admin Console ):
Procedure to create the views is same only the iView configuration differs.
Procedure to create these iViews. In the portal, choose Content Administration -> Portal Content.
2. In the Portal Content Studio locate the target folder for your new iView.
3. In the target folder's context menu, choose New -> iView.
4. Select the custom iView template for forums.
5. Enter the required values and in the last step choose Finish.
6. Select the option Open the object for editing.
Administrator iView :
1. Select the property category Forums Configuration.
2. For the property View on Forums select Forums Administration.
3. Select the property category Navigation.
4. For the property Quick link enter forumsadmin.
Forums iView for initial Administration
1. Select the property category Forums Configuration.
2. For the property View on the forums select Add Forums Administrator User.
This iView is used to set Forums Administrator User. Whenever you want to set a new administrator for forum, use this iView to set it.

Collaboration room are virtual workspaces that can be set up for any topic or purpose. They are especially convenient for teams or work groups, since the rooms ensure that all required tools, services, and information sources are available through a single point of access.
The room are based on room templates that define the rooms structure, content, and access authorizations.
Collaboration room also offer full integration to third-party groupware systems and real-time collaboration services.
The Collaboration rooms can be populated with predefined content and services that may already be available within SAP EP.
Function Of Collaboration Room:-
1. A structured workplace with pre-defined content and services created specifically for the project and/or teams.
2. Shared access to knowledge and document.
3. Global work, independent of place or time zone.
4. Direct access from the room to services for collaboration.
5. Improved effectiveness of virtual project teams through central access to necessary information and services.
6. The chances to increase knowledge and awareness of the project through open publication of information.
In simple language we can say that collaboration room is a virtual space(or room) which is use to perform certain task like:
1. Discussion
2. Meeting
3. Instant Messaging
4. Send E-mail
5. Real time collaboration
6. Chatting
7. Create appointment

That room have specific room template or say specific type and it contains members who are able to perform above things.

Transfer collaboration rooms with all content

Hello All,
I am on SP12 EP & KMC.
Need to transfer collaboration rooms with all content of Rooms from DEV to PRD server.
How do we ensure that all memberships, subscriptions, tasks, documents, document metadata, ++ is transferred?

You can have the iview for entering the room inside the page.
Inside the portal content@content provided by sap@end user cont@standard portal users@[email protected] the My room iview is there. You can place it in your page.
You cannot enter in to the room if the permissions are not set. For this you have to navigate to Portal Content / com.sap.ip.collaboration / Rooms from System administration/Permissions.
Edit permissions and select 'Everyone' user group with enduser checked.Give the required permission from the dropdown.

click on the context menu of the collaboration room > send room link and you should receive the link in your inbox if your email is configured in Portal..

A user can only see the public area in a collaboration room

Hi all,
We have experienced that a certain user can only see the public area of
a collaboration room although the user has member rights to see more
content.
We have tried to remove the user from the room and add him again. It
did not help.
Other users have been added before and after this user without problems.
What could be wrong with this user?

If you are using a standalone version of Lightroom, you may have updated with the CC-licensed update. That will not work. If this is your situation then it will be necessary for you to uninstall Lightroom and then install an update from a different website. I like to play cards on Yahoo. I can get into the program, but the room page, applet won't load.

I can get into Yahoo, and the 'gin' site, but when I try to go to a room to play, the page won't load. It's just blank. I've tried all the things, like emptying cache, and it doesn't help.

I suspect the software was originally designed for PPC based Macs and is simply not designed to run on 10.6.7. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer and asking the correct way to uninstall they're application.
After uninstalling I would run Repair Disk Permissions in Disk Utility and if necessary do a SMC reset using the following instructions:
SMC RESET
• Shut down the computer.
• Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
• Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
• Release the power button.
• Attach the computers power cable.
• Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
• Shut down the computer.
• Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
• Turn on the computer.
• Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Collaboration Rooms and Document Uploads from Network

Hi,
We are starting to use Collaboration Rooms and would like the Documents iview to point to our network file system, so when a user uploads a file he can do it via the portal or our network drive. We are using FSR's elsewhere and are wondering how to incorporate it into a collab room document iview. Our portal environment is NW04 Stack 12.
Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Hi Kris,
what you need to do is to create a collaboration room template that would integrate a KM Navigation iView that points to the file share. Of course, first you need to integrate the share via repository manager in KM.

I have created a collaboration rooms using room templates.
All rooms are displaying under Rooms directory.
But now i need to get this rooms in detailed navigation
For eg: We have diffrent roles like sites , departments etc..
When user clicks on project sites role on top level navigation all project rooms he has access has to be displayed in detailed navigation, so that he click on which room he wants and enter into that room and room content will display in content area.
same way when user clicks on Department role all department rooms has to be dispalyed on detalied navigation based on permissions.
How to diffrentiate rooms like project rooms and department rooms

Asynchronous document generation in Collaboration Rooms

Hi, I'm new in this KMC world, but not in Portal.
I have a collaboration room, and I need to create a document, in a collaborative and asynchronous way.
I mean the creation of a document kind of .doc, .pdf, or .ppt, but without using the .dot template, or .pot template (for example).
I know that exist an Synchronous Application Sharing tool, available with Collaboration Rooms, but what I need is precisely the opposite.
I need a kind of A-Synchronous Application Sharing tool.
Anyone tried something like that?
Any help well be point-rewarded.

I want to create a document in a ppt, or pdf format, but using some User Inteface provided (or developed) by Portal or Collaboration.
For example, do you know XML Forms? In those, you can input some info into several fields, and this info is "rendered" later as HTML. I want something similiar, but using PPT or PDF as "rendered format" instead HTML.
I'd need this functionality integrated into some collaboration rooms.
Is that possible??

Collaboration Room Error

I have installed EP6 SP9 NW04 SR1 , I have installed
KMC SP9 and have patched it to KMCSP9_P3
When i create a room, and then go into the room..i get this error on the "My Rooms" and "Related Rooms" iViews in the detail Navigation. The errors:

How can i solve this problem WITHOUT upgrading to a later stack..since there is no time for an update??
If i cannot solve it..how can i remove those two iviews from Collaboration->My Rooms->detail navigation??

Hi RD,
SAP Note 792370 should hopefully solve your problem here:
The group EVERYONE needs execution permission for the folder in which the room worksets are stored.
In the PCD, navigate to Portal Content / com.sap.ip.collaboration / Rooms. Edit the "Assigned Permissions" and flag the checkbox in the column "End User" for the row "Everyone". Now the rooms will work as supposed.

I have a very limited idea of KMC. I am in Composite Developement
I have a reqiurement in which a person A needs to invite some other persons to discuss an issue and after the discussion with them needs to take a decision. But any of these persons can be offline. So they may not reply in real time but after they log into the portal. The participants should be able to see the previous discussions which they missed so that they can get info of what discussions has taken place while he/she was away.
Please help me as to which collaboration room i should use for this and some guidance also how to set it up .

You can use standard Discussion rooms for ur requirement.
They are basically used for <b>asynchrnous collaboration</b> purpose in which case users might be offline.

Runtime Error: if open a task in the collaboration-room

I get an e-mail from collaboration room (Task). When I click in the E-Mail on the Link here, I get in the Browser a runtime error. I suspect it is permission problems. But I was looking the IView under System Administration -> Permission -> and I set the write/read permissions with check enduser for the group "erverybody" in the IVIEW with this ID:

In the Detailed Navigation pane, browse to Console Logging. Select pcd_logger, and the number of rows to display. Select Configuration Mode, check your configuration values, and verify that the value for Activated logger is set to true, and selectable for ALL levels. Select Apply and then View Mode. Now, on the view mode, make sure that you select all the check boxes for Select logger levels for display, and select Display. The logs should be displayed.
In short, I donu2019t know the name of <specified path> in the Security Zone, where I can set the permissions:
Go to System Administration ® Permissions, browse to Security Zones / , right-click ® Edit Permissions
