I can't load 3.6.12 version because I get this: libsmime3.dylib is in use. What does this mean?

After repeated suggestions that I download the new version of Firefox, I did and now it won't let me put it in applications because "this is in use": libsmime3.dylib . What is this and how do I close it?

* Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
* Install the new version that you have downloaded.
