Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them; in that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
If possible, connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
Are any other devices on the network, and if so, are they the same?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?
Are all network applications affected, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Is networking always the same, or is the problem intermittent?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
Boot in safe mode and test. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Can't load the web page

I tried to buy things online from oldnavy.com but all the sudden the page disappeared and can't load the page at all. When I try to load it, the word above the page said loading oldnavy.com and keep blinking like that. I tried gap.com and bananrepublic.com also but I got the same problem. But another web sites are fine. I tried to do this for awhile and really upset with this. Anybody can help me what's wrong with my safari?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Nothing wrong with your Safari. Their website forwards me to a blank page
    http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/info.do?cid=8759
    http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse/info.do?cid=8808
    http://www.gap.com/browse/info.do?cid=8768
Which if you open it on Firefox says that Firefox 1.0 and Nescape 7.0 for the Mac are the browsers that are compatible when I go to the page that Banana Republic, Oldnavy, and Gap forward me to. Going back to their homepage on Firefox appears to work. This is clearly a case of their not following http://www.w3.org/ and accessibility standards. I suggest contacting their webmaster, and use http://www.anybrowser.org/ 's form letters to ask that they use more open standards for their website.

  • Safari can't load any web pages

I just installed Safari on a WinXP Pro machine and it shows a Can't Open Web Page error when trying to access any web page, while FireFox and IE function without problem. There are no proxies; local firewall is disabled; tried re-installing and clearing App Data. Safari loads file:// pages OK, so it appears to be something in the network access. (Not a DNS issue since I tried loading by IP address as well.)
    Any ideas?

I am using 4.42 version of safari.i did not get any message the thing is that when i enter my user name an password it just refresh the login page.

  • Can't load certain WEB pages via a wireless internet connection

I have a 17 inch PowerBook G4 running OS X 10.4.8 and am unable to get to certain WEB sites such as Microsoft.com. I have no problem getting to and loading most other WEB sites using Safari, Netscape or Firefox browsers with this computer. I also have 15 inch PowerBook G4 that is running OS X 10.3.9. The 15 inch computer has no problem getting to and loading WEB pages at sites I'm unable to open with my 17 inch G4. My connection to the internet is via a wireless network using Apple's Airport Extreme Basestation to connect to the DSL modem. When I connect my 17 inch G4 directly to the modem, I have no problem loading WEB pages I could not previously load using my wireless network. I trashed the System Configuration folder in the Library/Preferences directory, but this made no difference to my problem.
Does anyone have any idea as to what is going on?

Are you using the latest Airport driver (check via Software Update)?
Have you tried resetting the Airport unit via AirPort Admin Utility.app in your Applications/Utilities folder?

    Could be a corrupted keychain.
Quit Safari. Open Keychain Access. Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the bank keychain and the Safari Forms Autofill keychain.
Relaunch Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Make sure: User names and passwords is selected.
Now click the Privacy tab. Click: Details. Delete the web address for the bank click Done.
Now to your bank's site. Login with your user name and password. You should be prompted to save that data to a new keychain, click Yes when prompted.

  • Security Problem? Can't load certain web pages

    Hello,
On our home network, our Macs are not able to load
pages from some sites, like netflix, tinyprints, etc.
Our PC connects fine on the same network.
Tested the Macbook at work and no problem loading there.
All are using Covad DSL(isp)->Dlink Modem->Airport Extreme wireless
I've tried resetting all the components, but no luck.
Any suggestions about where I can look to diagnose where it's
    getting stuck would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

-What could have caused the default DNS setting to fail?
    All sorts of things, really.
For one, the chances are that you were using your ISP's DNS server. Those servers could have broken for various reasons. The ISP might have moved their DNS servers and forgotten to tell you or they did tell you, but you didn't act upon their recommendations), or there could just be some networking issue within your ISP's network. Either way, DNS servers are like any other servers - prone to failure.
-Are there other DNS addresses that I can try? How do you find them?
There are many. In general it's better to use your ISP's DNS servers, but companies such as OpenDNS, Google (and others) also run public DNS servers that they let anyone use. There are some advantages and disadvantages to using them. Clearly, if they work where your ISP's don't then that's an advantage
-Also, I downloaded Path Analyzer Pro(10 day free trial!).
...Any ideas what I should be looking for?
The best thing to do is post the output of the app and let people interpret it for you - without seeing quite what you're seeing it's almost impossible to explain what it's saying.

  • Can't load certain web pages.  Is it the ActionTec Router?

Most websites load fine, but I've been having a problem accessing some websites, like www.write-bros.com and www.screenplay.com. For some reason, my MacBook Pro can't access those sites, using either Safari, FireFox, or the software that accesses the sites without a browser.
My PC's, and G4 can, however, using the same internet connection and router.
I recently tried an experiment, and I connected my ethernet cable from the wall directly into my MacBook Pro, and it worked! I could access those sites!
I have Verizon Fios, fiber optic connection, so there is no modem to work with. Instead, I have the ActionTec MI424WR router that Verizon provided. I need to use that router because it does other things for the service I have... TV, etc.
The ActionTec is configured fine, nothing blocked, etc. I even completely turned off the firewall and still it wouldn't work.
Another experiment, wireless, was to connect to a neighbor's wireless connection and the websites were viewable that way, too.
I heard that there might be an issue with ActionTec's wireless features, but I am using a Belkin Pre-N Wireless Router as a switch only for wireless and nothing else, and it's connected to the ActionTec (which has it's wireless functions turned off completely).
I have been experimenting with the ethernet connection and the wireless, and I'm out of luck using the MacBook Pro on my own ActionTec router.
Anyone have any ideas? It would be most appreicated to get this fixed.
    Thanks.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 - Won't load certain web pages - Happens in all browers - Won't do windows updates

This server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1) is used to host thin clients as well as RDP sessions.  One morning the office is fine, they come back from lunch and all of the sudden they can't load certain web pages, such as adobe.com
and pandora.com to name a couple.  This was roughly 3 days ago.
1.)  I have tried machines that are not connected to this server (not thin client or RDP), but are on the same network, they can load up any web page fine with no issues.
2.) On the server I have tried Opera, Chrome, IE and Firefox, all have the same exact problem.
3.) Tried different DNS servers just to be sure, even though it only effects the server and no one else.
Based on these facts I know that it is something wrong with the server, but not tied to a specific brower.  In all browsers when you load up a page in question it just sits there with a blank screen trying to load, it never generates any errors.
The Event Viewer is also clean, no errors.  So with no errors I have had trouble trying to find a starting place for this.  Things I have tried:
1.) ipconfig /flushdns to try and clear out any DNS issues
2.) Changing the DNS servers for the server to 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2
3.) Scanning for Viruses and Malware/Spyware
4.) Checking proxy settings on the server
5.) Updating and then removing Adobe Flash (thought it was tied to flash at first).  Problem persists even with no flash player installed.
6.) Completed a failed update of .net, no effect
7.) Loading up browsers in debug mode to try and find anything in the site code that I could relate between failed sites.  I found nothing I could identify
Of all issues to finally be stumped on this seems like an easy one, but I can't even begin to come up with an idea at this point.
I have tried to lay out all of the facts that I know as plainly as I can.  I am hoping that someone has seen this before as this issue is effecting a number of differnt users and keeping them from doing portions of their job.
Help is most appreciated, thank you!

I was able to figure out a solution.
    CAUSE:
It appears that the Internet isn’t fully up to date and ready to use EDns -- which is enabled on Windows Server 2008 R2 by default. The solution for this is to disable Edns. Note that this isn’t
a problem for most Windows Server 2008 R2 member servers.  It’s only a problem for DNS *servers* that do recursive lookups.  i.e. likely only your domain controller will be affected if that is where your DNS Server role exists.
    SOLUTION:
To disable EDns, you can do it from the command prompt, or by editing the registry.
Create a DWORD called EnableEDNSProbes and set to 0 in HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\DNS\Parameters
Restart the DNS Server service for it to take effect.

  • Load a web page.

How Can I load a web page and display it in a browser in my applet.

I want to load a web page and open it in a browser,
not see it html code.It doesn't show you raw html code. It will render it. However, the above post probably has what you're looking for.

  • 2-3 minutes to load a web page

I got a macpro with retina display several months ago and it has disasterous web surfing capability. I timed myself and it took me 6 minutes to get through the apple website to post this! I just timed an attempt to resolve www.cnn.com and it took 160 seconds.  This brings back mind-numing memories of AOL and 28,800 baud rates.
I cannot imagine --anyone-- would put up with this kind of performance but I cannot get this fixed.  On my home Windows PC I can get to this page in under ten seconds. On my corporate work network with a PC;  I can get to it even faster.
The Macpro performance is terrible on my  corporate network and at home. The performance is terrible with both wired and wireless.  I have reset Safari. I have cleared the cache. I have diabled the cache. I have never added a single extension.  I have ensured there are no bad/duplicate DNS servers. After all of this I  loaded Chrome and it's performance is even worse than Safari!
I called my company helpdesk and said the performance was terrible and after several hours they just  gave up trying to fix it. I told them it must be a hardare failure and they need to replace the mac pro.  They said this is a common complaint with Macs!  I am ready to junk this thing and go back to a corporate Lenovo piece of junk running windows 7. At least it can resolve web pages in milliseconds instead of literally multiple minutes.
COnsidering how many dozens of hours I have spent on this maddening issue (surfing the web on my WIndows PC and trying to fix this mac):
Please don't tell me to fiddle with safari because chrome is worse
Please don't tell me to fiddle with wireless, because it is no better wired with wireless disabled
Please don't tell me to fiddle with routers because it is just as bad on corporate and home networks.
Please don't tell me to update to the latest OS version because I am running 10.8.3
So last call for anyone who has any suggestions on how to fix this...
    -Robert

    Thomas A Reed:
After two months of trying, your suggestion to boot into safe mode is a breakthrough!
While in Safe Mode I can actually load this web page in 5-6 seconds. I spent the last few minutes bouncing all over the web watching web pages draw within seconds.
This proves that the hardware is ok and there is some application which is killing my ability to load a web page. It effects Safari, Chrome and I even loaded Firefox and all of them are similarly crippled. Therefore, it is not something misconfigured in any browser, or some cache issue. Since I can download files at regular speed, it is unlikely a network driver issue.
I do not have anti-virus software running on the machine. I don't know of any network filtering applications so I am not sure what those might be, but at least I have something to debug now.
My thanks to you for your insight here! i sincerely appreciate your help.

  • Problems loading certain web pages

Lately, in the past week or two, I have been noticing that Safari wont load certain web pages. It jsut stops and then I get a blank white page with no error message. I have noticed this mostly with Facebook, but also found the same problems with Evite.com when I click the login link. I have tried using Firefox and it seems to d better, especially with Facebook, but it did hang up on it one time. I cant get to the login page on Evite with either browser. I am using OpenDNS, but dont have these things blocked. I can access them fine from a PC laptop through the same connection via my wireless modem.

    Carolyn Samit wrote:
    HI,

Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utiities). Select Passwords on the left then delete the Evite under Names on the right. Launch Safari or Firefox, go to the Evite site and login. After typing in your password, click Always Allow
I opened Keychain, but there is nothing in there for Evite under passwords?
    Try Safari Maintenance
    Repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Tried this, but still having problems in both Safari and Firefox. Facebook seems to be random, more often not working than it is. Still no login page with Evite?
