I can't log in with my Apple ID is says server error

Upgraded to Mavericks and it asked me to log in with my apple ID so I did and it said that I coudnt log it due to a server error. Now the screen is frozen and it doesn't let me do anything !! Tried to restart the machine but it doesn't let me !! I'm very upset

Try deleting the account, restarting the device and signing in again.

    Try this... I had the same problem and this worked for me.
    Go to your system preferences → network → make sure WI-FI selected → advanced → DNS tab. Add 8.8.8.8 to the DNS servers. Go back to FaceTime and try to verify your account again.

    Try a reset: Simulaneously hold down the On and Home buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it should appear. When shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on.

    Hi, first time on my iPad since new wifi set up, and I now can not get into my iPad to set up the New WiFi keycode, I keep constantly getting the "sign into icloud, enter Apple id password", and I can't get to any settings annoyingly.
    Now I had not changed my Id password prior to this problem, yet I have since changed it through another device, yet without WiFi on my iPad this will not update.
    I have shut down and restarted, to see if this helps but it didn't, can anyone help with this annoying little problem so I can set up the New WiFi?

    This is the result you get when you try to sign into the iCloud Control Panel on Windows with an Apple ID which hasn't been used to set up an iCloud account, since you cannot set up an account on Windows. Once an account is set up elsewhere you should be able to log in perfectly well.
    Forgive me for asking, but are you absolutely sure you are logging in with the right ID? Many people have separate IDs for iCloud and iTunes and it's easy to get them confused: so this is the first thing you should double-check.
    Have you recently purchased additional Storage? Someone who had found that he was unable to log in in Windows until he had gone to the preference pane on his Mac and confirmed that extra storage there - I've not idea why that should be the case.

  • Bug in iMessage Can't Log in with different Apple ID

    My husband, four boys and I share my iTunes Apple ID to back up data to the iCloud and share music, as I pay for a large amount of storage for all of us. I set up a different Apple ID for my messages, as the boys keep turning on iMessage with MY phone number on the iPad, iPod and their iPhones (sometimes on purpose i think!).
    Since i upgraded to the iPhone 6, I can't get it to take my different iMessage login! It took it with no problem for FaceTime, but won't log me in for iMessage and tries to revert back tot he main Apple ID. It is hard to even get it to open the space to put a different Apple ID in - it keeps loading it automatically without giving the option to change it. I have to keep turning it off and trying again in Settings. Finally there and it tells me "Could not log in. Check your network connection and try again." Um - what? It works everywhere else without an issue! I just tested it on the mac. No network errors, password works just fine.
    Help! Is this a bug? Where should I report it? What's going on? I need my private texts!

    Up to Mavericks in combination with earlier iOS versions it seems that you could  use different IDs in different apps.
    That is to say the iCloud ID in System Preferences > iCloud could be the same on an iPhone to sync the contacts and other function but a different ID could be used in Messages for iMessages and FaceTime  (I would keep theses the same as your Invoke FaceTime for Video chats)
    However it does seem that Yosemite and iOS 8.x.x when you want to do Text Forwarding on the iPhone to be able to SMS on the Mac wants or needs to use the same ID all the way round.
    Having said that I once used two separate ID on two separate iPhones and this got very complicated on my Mac.
    I decided to delete one of the iPhones which I have managed (it never shows up).  However the Apple ID keep popping up on various devices when I open them.
    Despite me saying "no" when it asks me it does seem to get put through on the Mac.
    I can delete the .plist that stores the info but is still gets to show as an unticked option in the Received At list.
    (I can see it re-appearing on your children's devices without too much issue).

    Like you I do use different ID in different places  for various reasons although any form of sharing is not the reason for me.  (I just don't want to  lose all functions if one ID gets compromised)
    It does seem this is becoming more difficult.

    As has been reported in numerous posts in these forums there is a widespread problem with the iTunes Store which is probably also affecting the Game Centre; it doesn't appear to be related to any security or other updates. Evidently there is an issue with Apple's servers and it's a question of waiting for them to fix it.

    How are you verifying it?  Are you responding to the email that is sent?  If not, do so.
    If so, then try changing your password.

    You can't merge accounts. But you can check your purchase history:

    Have you tried your spam folder? it could have gone there by default. also, are you sure you put the correct email in for iCloud?
