Why can I log into some websites on my MacBook Pro and not on my MacPro?

Only just started happening...I have used 3 different browsers on my MacPro and still can't log into some webpages where a password is required.
Flickr, eBay, some on line shopping sites....
i have deleted cookies, cache, history, everything. Reinstalled the application (Firefox and Safari) but nothing.
Go to my new MacBook Pro and it connects..
I plan to do a full combo download and install of 10.6.8 however can't work out what's broken? I use Virus Barrier and MacScan but have (I believe) turned them off.

No improvement as yet.
P.S. Not sure how MacScan and Virus Barrier X would interact as they seem to do different things... I got both of these as apps in bundles so didnt really specifically buy them.
I can't see any proxy setting in network preferences so will need to go into virus barrier and check.
Reading the "recommended text" on Virus's for homework.
Tomorrow it will be Appzapper for them both if the patient shows no sign of improvement.

I can't log into secure websites on my iPad

When ever I go to web sites that require a login like my bank, investmant house or other sites, I can't log in. I can get to the site, enter my user name and password same as on my desk tops and lap top, but I can't log in. What is the problem? Do I have something wrong on the set-up?

I've never had such a problem myself, but I do recall posts from users who couldn't log into their banks. Turns out the login procedure involved flash, and as we all know, the iPad doesn't do flash.
If it turns out your financial institutions do use flash for login, be sure to communicate with them, asking them to modernize to HTML5 or anything else that doesn't rely on flash.
Hmm... I don't quite follow the last part of your post. You can enter username and password, but can't log in? What happens after entering username and password?

I can successfully log into this website but when i try to open messages or test results from the menu I am immediately kicked out saying session timed out.

I called the customer support line for website. They had me try to open using Internet Explorer, and it works perfectly fine.
I recently changed from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and am back to Windows 7 again via system recovery discs. I did not have this problem with the website using Firefox prior to switching and switching back. Is there some sort of security setting that I am missing? I am not having any problems using other login and password protected sites that I use.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Can't log into Facebook in Settings

I can't log into Facebook when I try to do it in the Settings (for FB integration). It worked fine on my iPhone, but my iPad 2 won't do it.
I enter my username and password and tap Sign In, and up top it says "Verifying" with the little "I'm thinking" wheel to the left of that, but that's all it does. It's stuck. No error messages, nothing.
iPad 2 running iOS 6 over wifi.

OK, I changed from my Facebookuser name to my gmail account name and then it worked.

can someone help me? I tried to log into facebook using my macbook and the address just spools or is stuck. I can pull up other sites when I type them in with no problems. I can also log into facebook via my desktop, phone but not the macbook. I appreciate the help.

The me.com website is not designed for or intended to be accessed by iOS devices. Apple provides support in iOS or seperate Apps for accessing all aspects of MobileMe except for the Accounts section.
Use MobielMe as intended and you'll have no problems.

Even if you use a different browser to get access to me.com on iOS, you'll find most of it is unusable.
Other websites that present you with the mobile version have been programmed to do so by their developers. They specifically look for users accessing from 'mobile' devices and switch to the mobile site. Many such sites provide a link to go back to the 'full' site, if not, there's not a lot you can do except use a browser that can pretend not to be a mobile browser.

Your post is somewhat confusing. To restore your iPad you use the iTunes application on your computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in the left column of iTunes on your computer and select General in the right column. You should find the restore choice there.

I can't log into icloud from my Windows 8 PC, but I can from my Windows XP PC

I had my old Vista PC upgraded to Windows 8. I just tried to log into www.icloud.com, but after entering my username and my password nothing happens. No errors, nor messages. Fortunately, I can remotely log into my work PC which is a Windows XP. Logging in is no problem at all for my XP. I get in and do what I need to do. This would seem to eliminate a server issue.

Well, now I'm confused. I've been hearing a lot about Instagram, so I decided to see what it's all about. I got stuck when the Istagram site kept telling me that either my Username or password was incorrect. In fact, I came here because of that. I wanted to see if anyone else had had such a problem with Instagram. Now it looks like you're saying that Mac owners cannot fully use Instagram. By the way, part of my process for obtaining Instagram was typing in "visual group" in the search bar for Mac apps. Don't ask me why, those were the instructions I saw on YouTube. Perhaps there's a better way. If you know of one plese let me know.

Can't log into HP ePrintCenter

I just bought a C310 printer and am LOVING it. The web apps are amazing. So much my wife and I can use it for our daughter. Anywho, I am trying to log into my account I just set up when I registered the printer on the ePrintCenter website so I can activate our printer's e-mail address. I tried sending a photo to the printer's e-mail address I got from the settings, but nothing happened. I saw from a couple other posts that the service may be down. Will that also stop me from logging into the website?
I thought maybe the ePrintCenter was seperate from the log I just used for these forums and to register my printer so when I tried to register on the ePrintCenter webpage, it says my e-mail address is not usable. I assume it means it sees this account, but it won't let me log in. I can wait and try again tomorrow and see if it works, but I want to make sure I can use ePrint on this. Its a feature that I will use a ton as well as my wife with our phones.

What mail provider are you currently using (Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo?).
Open up safari and go to that providers website and log into your email.
If you get in than open the mail app and click on mail on the top of the screen, then go down to preferences, click on the accounts tab, and type your password. Close the window and it will save.
If this doesn't work I would even try deleting the account by going into mail/preferences/accounts and clicking the - button in the bottom left corner. Than re add and configure the account by pressing the + button.
