I can't make an iTunes account
Hi, I can't make an iTunes account. I do have a credit card, but when I put my security code in, it won't accept it. I think it might be because it has a leading zero, but I'm not sure. Does anybody know what's wrong?

On which iTunes Store do you want to make your account? I just want to tell you that you have to have a credit card from the country where you want to make an account. For example, if you are trying to get an account on the United States iTunes store and you have a French credit card, it won't work.
If you want to, let's say, get a US account, and your local card doesn't work, then I can't help you if your credit card has problems. But what you can do when you make the account is chose the "None" option (as in "no credit card") when it comes to the Payment Information. You can then buy iTunes cards from the store in which you made your account (which is what I do, since I live in China and I used iTunes US).

Just go and buy an iTunes gift card at any store in your country.
Then follow all the steps you did, but when it asks you for the credit card number, there shoujld be a GIFT CARD option which will let you load your account witht eh funds form the gift card without providing a credit/debit card #. -

In addition to Roger's post, you will need a credit or debit card at a future date if you want to buy from Istore.
You can use itunes gift cards that have been purchased from external sources. Card needed if to want to buy gift card from Istore.

I used iTunes for a long time, without registering an account. I used it to listen to Podcasts. Sure, once in a while it came up and asked me to create an account, but I didn't do it.
So you don't have to have an account to use iTunes - unless they have made some kind of change in the way iTunes 7.2 handles this. -

Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

You need to either remove items from your hard drive or iOS device, whichever you're referring to, or get a larger hard drive or an iOS device with more capacity.

I've done many iTunes Accounts for family members with the same computer and today, i wanted to do one, and it always gives me the same error to conact support. I have two seperate itunes accounts on two seperate devices and i can not make an itunes purchase on either one. When signing into the account it ask for the answer to security questions. I have NEVER answered a security question for these accounts. Each time it is a different set of questions. This has only happend since the original devices have been replaced/upgraded. How do I fix this? There is money in each account and both have recieved itunes giftcards for christmas that they are unable to use!

I am a bit of a computer/Internet/iTunes dummy....
I am concerned about the health of my current computer but have not yet made the commitment to a new one, but:
1) How can I transfer my iTunes account to a new computer when I get one...
and
2) What can I do if my current computer suddenly implodes and I have not yet 'copied/'saved'/otherwise protected my account, as is? -- I have already had my computer crash once and had one of your people help me restore all of the paid for songs (none of the uploaded from my own collection of CD songs, of course, so I had to spend a long time rebuilding that) -- and I believe I was told you could only help me recover that material one or two times altogether, no?
WithOUT purchasing a Mach or iCloud (I actually think I have one of the later, but rarely have checked it) account, is there anything I can do to responsibly protect my account?
Thanks for any time taken on this!!!These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Click "Account" under Quick Links at the top right of the iTunes store. Next to payment information click "Edit" and then select "None" under payment method.
On an iOS device go to Settings>Store>Apple ID>View Apple ID>Payment Information>None.
If "None" is not an option, you may want to contact iTunes support:
