I had the same problem three days ago and now it is solved I was advised to try the following:
Go to settings - General - Date & Time - switch off the "Set Automatically" option and adjust the time zone manually.
I hope it works for you.

How is it a security breach? You're free to turn off lock screen notifications for the phone app so that no one can do that.... even if they can, they can only call the number that called you... nothing else. (well, except for 900 or whatever the emergency services number is where you are, but that's required by law).

I just installed yosemite and was able to make calls on my iPhone from contacts but now it seems as its gone away

Your car BT device has to support the Bluetooth Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) to sync contacts from your iPhone. Check with the manual for that device.

If you are having issues with your iPhone being unable to make calls or access your Contacts application, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

When i attempt to make a call from my macbook i get error message "iphone calls not availble your iphone must use the same icloud and facetime account."
as fas as i know, both accounts are the same on my iphone and my macbook. when i get a facetime call on my phone, it also rings on my macbook.

Try log out all Apple IDs (in all settings) on all devices then login again with same ID everywhere.

I see that you have a question about some of the new Continuity features in your devices. The situation you are describing should be able to work, as long as you are using the same iCloud account across all devices and all devices are updated to iOS 8 or Yosemite. You should call your carrier and make sure your account is provisioned correctly. It sounds like your provisioning profile has not been distributed to all of the MTSOs (network switches) in your country. Sometimes this can be fixed by deleting the profile, then recreating it (this must be done by a carrier engineer, of course; it is not something that you can do).

Why can't I make calls from my iPhone?

For quite some time my calls have been increasingly failing when calling certain people. I keep getting forwarded to voicemail after 1.5 rings or it will ring like normal on my end but the person will never have a missed call. It's become extremely frustrating. I feel as thought I've checked everything:
Im up to date on software updates.
My Do Not Disturb is turned off.
I don't have those numbers blocked and they don't have mine blocked.
I was having this problem before the newest update as well.
This happens regardless if I'm connected to wifi.
Everyone has been able to call me without problem.
The only success I've had getting my calls to go through is dialing *67 to block my caller ID.
Please help! This is driving me crazy!

What troubleshooting have you done? Have you followed the steps outlined in the user guide?
What did your wireless carrier say when you contact them about it, since cellular calls are their service to support.
