Hi all, I can't manually backup my iPhone 5 using iTunes to my Windows PC & this iTunes error message appears: "iTunes could not backup the iPhone because a session could not be started with the iPhone".
May I know how to solve it in order to backup my iPhone like previous? Thank you!!

I tried disable already, but still can't backup. Actually this also happens to my iPad. But my iPhone 4S can be backed up using the same PC. Anyother solution? Thanks

Cannot sync and backup the iPhone using iTunes

I developed the program and uploaded it on the iPhone. The problem is that with the my application installed, I cannot sync and backup the phone using iTunes. As soon as the app is removed, I was able to perform the expected sequence of backing up and syncing the phone. This issue affects both Windows and Mac users of the iPhone app. This happened on iOS 4.0 with both an iPhone 4 and 3GS. How can I solve this problem?

Can no longer transfer media to my Iphone 4 - via any method, (drag and click, right click etc.). Furthermore I can't edit, (e.g. delete) media which is already on my iphone.
The iphone is recognized by itunes, and I can click the manual synch button which occurs with no registered errors. I've not had any issues like this before, and have had no problems transfering media before using itunes.

Fixed. For whatever reason itunes turned off the manual synching option. Weird.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

1. install as new iPhone
2. restore from this backup ( a year old backup )

Delete your most recent backup in iTunes (iTunes Preferences>Devices, click on the backup, click Delete Backup), if using a PC click Reset Sync History (also in Devices), then close iTunes, restart your device, connect your device again, open iTunes and try syncing again.

If they sign into your iCloud account with your ID, their iCloud backup would then be in your account. However, they would also be sharing your iCloud account and any data they sync with the account (contacts, calendars, etc.) will be merged with yours and the merged list will appear on both phones. They would also be able to access your email account and their photo stream photos would be merged with yours (as you would be sharing the same photo stream). Furthermore, if they are using iOS 7 and turn on Find My iPhone while signed into your account, their phone will require your iCloud ID and password in order to be turn off Find My iPhone, sign out of iCloud or erase and reactivate their phone.
Unless you wish to share all this data, and have the other person's data merged with yours you should do this. (iCloud accounts are really designed to be used by a single person.)

Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

It sounds like you are unable to backup your phone after moving the mobile sync folder from its default location. If moving it back manually does not resolve the issue, I would next use either of the following articles to remove iTunes from your computer and then re install it. The articles outline the proper order to remove them in, and step by step instructions:

I cant manually drag and drop my video files to my iPhone using iTunes. When I click on my device and go to summary and check "Manually manage music and videos" and click apply I get a message saying " The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with another library?"
" An iPhone can be synced with only ones iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents, of this phone with the contents of this iTunes library"
My options are to erase and sync or cancel. I do not want to erase the contents of my iPhone can anyone help?

To recap... here is a fuller version of my advice on "how to move a library from one computer to another."
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone. The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality

Try using one ot the several WiFi transfer apps in the App Store. I do that all the time, back/forth between iPhone and iPad Mini. Works with videos, too.

Iphone are meant to be sync to one itunes library only.
You can copy those songs to a cd and then put a copy to your itunes media library.
