I can't move my podcasts from ipod to itunes playlist

I can't seem to move the podcasts that I have on my ipod to a named playlist in itunes.

You'll likely need the assistance of some third party software such as the one below to get the job done.  Keep in mind that your photos will no longer be in their full resolution, but instead will be the scaled down thumbnail versions that were optimized for viewing on your iPod.

Can I transfer songs etc from ipod to itunes library?

You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod, the transfer of purchased content has recently been introduced with iTunes 7. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. As iTunes 7 is just out some of these may not have caught up with it yet though I haven't experienced any problems with the Mac software I use.

  • Move one album from ipod to itunes

Ok, I'm sure I'm missing something easy here. Tried Help, searched forums, etc. I'm stuck.
I have two PCs with iTunes 8. Not thinking this through, I downloaded an album from Amazon (had a free coupon) to the PC that I don't usually use. I then manually moved that one album to my ipod nano (4th gen).
I want to move that one album to iTunes on the other computer - the one I usually use that has the updated library. I'm pretty sure this Amazon download isn't recognized as "purchased" or I'd try the download purchase function.
Gotta be something easy I'm missing. Thanks for any help.

There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

  • How to move the music from ipod to itunes?

Hi, I have a new computer without any music. I want to save the music I have in my ipod in the computer so I can hear it with itunes but no way. I can't move any file. In "my Pc" when I open Ipod I can see no files of music. In itunes I go to ipod, summary and I can not make the ipod work as a har drive.
    Thank you.

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • How can I move mp3 files from trash to iTunes?

I accidently moved a group of MP3 files (songs) from my iTunes to the trash.  After doing a little research, I saw the suggestion of creating a folder on my desktop and dragging them from the trash to the new desktop folder.  So, I did that, and as far as I can tell, the songs are all there, sitting in the folder.  But when I tried to drag the songs from the desktop folder to iTunes, I got this message:
"Attempting to copy the disk Macintosh HD failed.  You do not have enough access privaleges for this operation."
This makes no sense to me.  This is my private computer so I should have all the privaleges I need to do anything, right? And I'm not trying to copy the "disk Macintosh HD", right?
Anyway, can you help me move the songs back into iTunes--or to the podcast so I can then move them to iTunes?  FYI, the songs have names like, "download 124.mp3" and the Kind is "mp3 Audio."  I originally got these songs via a podcast from a radio station (KCRW). I have iTunes 11.1.1.
    Thanks!

    ed2345,
Thanks!  I did that and the songs are now back in my iTunes.  Some of the songs went back to the podcast and some went to the playlist.
UNFORTUNATELY, the songs did some sort of massive duplicating so that there are now over 100 duplicates of every episode/song (the podcast now has almost 36,000 episodes/songs and the playlist now has over 24,000 episodes/songs), and iTunes is viery slow/sluggish (spinning beach ball).  Can you tell me how to eleminate all of the duplicates?

  • Can't copy downloded songs from ipod to itunes

I have and ipod touch with about 600 songs on it, mostly from itunes but last week my laptop got a virus which deleted everything. I've downloaded itunes again and plugged my ipod in and it asks me if i want to transfer the songs i purchased on my ipod to itunes so i click yes but nothing happens. none of the songs transfer so i don't want to sync my ipod incase i lose them all off there. and when i try to download them again it says i need to pay or copythem from my ipod which it wont let me do. does anyone know what i can do?

Firstly make sure that you can access your ipod as a removable storage media. Once you have access enable in your windows explorer the option to view hidden folders. The itunes music folder of your ipod will be there somewhere. However the structure of the folders on the ipod are different to your itunes music folder on your pc.
You will see a lot of folders with names such as F00, F01, F02 an so on. In each folder there are scattered tracks all mixed up. I suppose as a way of copy protection. Copy them into your itunes folder. When you import them into the itunes library they should show as normal but if you want to back them up into folders with meaningful names it will be a long process.

  • Can you move all songs from external into itunes for a new comp?

I'm trying to get my whole library moved from an old computer onto the new computer. If i copy everything into the external drive, can I just copy it from the external into the itunes folders on the new computer? If so..which files should i be copying and where do I put them?

  • Can't move files from iPod to iTunes

    Hi all,
I have .mp3 files--completely free of any copyright restrictions--and itunes won't allow me to move them to my computer. I get the black 'do not enter' circle when I try to drag from iPod to a playlist on iTunes.
Can anyone help with this? Thanks,
    Cheri

  • Move contact address from ipod to imac

I cannot move contact address from ipod touch to imac

You can do one of two things:
    1) Create a dummy contact in the Mac Address Book (make one up), then sync the iPhone - you'll be prompted to merge or replace - choose Merge.
    2) Export the contacts from Outlook or WAB and import them into Address Book. If you're using Outlook, select all the contacts in Outlook, then right-click one of them and select Forward Items. You'll then get an email with all your contacts as individual .vcf files. You can email that to yourself, or just copy all those files to a flash drive.

  • Can i move my apps from itouch to iphone 4S and keep the saved stuff ive done so far

can i move my apps from itouch to iphone 4S and keep the saved stuff ive done so far

If the developers of the apps have followed Apple's guidelines, the data should be in the backup made in iTunes, so you should be able to just restore the iPhone 4S from the most recent backup of the iPod touch, re-sync your apps, and you should be good to go. If any of the data is critical, though, you may want to confirm with the developer of the app, just in case they have some special procedure.
