I can't open a pdf file in a browser window. I have to save it before I can open it. Why can't I open the file without first having to save it?

Anytime that I click on a pdf file in a browser window, the file will not open automatically. I am forced to save it on my computer first and then access the file. When I click on it after it is saved locally, it opens as it should.

If you are not able to get Adobe Acrobat Reader to open .pdf files in the browser. Even after you check in prefs to show pdf files in the browser.
Make this modification for all versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader that show under this key.
-Note: Deleting the key and all subkeys for any older versions also seems to fix this problem. So if you see this key present,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\7.0\Originals
delete the 7.0 and all subkeys.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\Originals
-Right click on Originals and choose NEW DWORD Value and name it bBrowserIntegration, hit enter,
double click on the new value and make sure the value is 1

Based on your post it sounds like you would like to sync your iBooks content with your computer. I have located an article that may help you in this situation. While you can sync this data with your computer you can also use the sharing button to send PDFs using various sources:

Open another website in a new browser window

I can't seem to create links to external websites that open
as intended in a new browser window while leaving the main browser
window unchanged. Except in Safari on a Mac. See sample code.
In Safari on a Mac this opens the new window and behaves as I
want. In Safari on a PC it opens a new window, but in back. In
Firefox on Mac I get an error message in which, when the "OK"
button is cliked on, a new window opens in back of the main window.
Same thing on a PC. Internet Explorer on a PC opens a new window
but displays an error message forcing you to clik the back button
to return to the main page.
If I specify the main page url in the link field, then the
main page gets reset to the top, which I don't want.
How can I get FireFox and IE to accomplish this gracefully?

then to open a new window (or tab if the user prefers). If

You don't say what version of Pages you are using or what version of the OS you are using. In general though, you can Export to Word format either from the File menu or the Share menu, and under some circumstances, when you Save, you can check a box to Save a Copy as: Word. Export is the best option from the point of view of being reliably available in either File or Share menus.

Did you format the external disk on Windows? If you did this, probably the external disk is formatted in NTFS. OS X can't write on this format, so it's normal that it doesn't allow you to copy the files.
In this case, you have three possibilities:
1. Install Paragon NTFS. This program allows you to write on NTFS partitions.
2. Copy the hard drive content to your internal disk and format the external disk with Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Do it only if you are going to use the external disk only with OS X.
3. The same as the last one but formatting it with exFAT. This filesystem is compatible with Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8) and OS X (10.6.5 and newer), so you can write and read files on external disks formatted with it on Windows and OS X, but you may have problems on Linux

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

How do I view a message in the reading pane without first having to open the message?

On my previous e-mail system, I was able to read the text of an incoming message in the reading pane below the selection of incoming messages without first having to open the incoming message about which I was curious. This had the advantage of allowing me to review and delete messages that appeared to be suspicious to me without first opening them and exposing my computer to the danger of an incoming & unwanted virus, etc. I am not able to do this with the new e-mail system and I an unable to find instructions on how to do this with your "Help" inquiry. Does Firefox have this capability? If so, how do I access it?

Firefox has no email features, it is just a web browser.
If you are using a web based email service such as Gmail or Hotmail, you will need to contact the support for the email service to see if they offer the feature that you want. Any email features will be part of the web based email service.

I send program change messages from my midi controller and the messages are accepted by mainstage 3 as shown in the midi message window,but i can't make a selection of my pathes even if i have set a program change number for each patch.Why is that happening?
I use a novation SL mki or a KORG Triton Le or a m-audio axiom 49 as midi controllers.The program change messages are transmitted by all the devices i mentioned above and shown as received in the midi messages window of mainstage 3.
Has anyone the same experience?

Dreamweaver - Chrome open a video in a new browser window not working

Hi guys, i'm pretty novice to dreamweaver and i've putting a site together recently...
One thing i am trying to do is open a video in a new browser window when the button is clicked upon.
I have done what i thought i needed to do this, and in safari and other browsers this works fine. In Google Chrome however this doesn't seem to want to work and rather then opening and playing the video it just automatically starts to download it.
I'm sure it is a simple fix and i apologise for the thread all about it but any help would be appreciated.
