I'm trying house Adobe Illustrator but I keep getting this message " To open Adobe Illustrator CS6, you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime" It also reads "Click More Info. to visit the legacy Java SE 6 download website".  When I click "More Info." it just takes me to a site for some version of Java that still can't open Illustrator!!!!!!  What's going on here & how can this be fixed ASAP????  I have work to do!!!!

I'm having the same issue. I keep getting:
"Too many redirects occurred trying to open “https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page."
    Is there another link somewhere?

When I try and open adobe illustrator I get a pop up message saying "To open “Adobe Illustrator CS6” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime." it also says "Click “More Info…” to visit the legacy Java SE 6 download website." When i click more info it transfers me to an apple page which never loads, its just a blank page. I downloaded Java SE 6 like it says it needs but it did nothing. All of my other Adobe programs such as bridge, dreamweaver, lightroom, Photoshop, indesign, and flash all work except for illustrator. What can I do to fix this?

Go to Apple and look for the Java for OSX 2014-001 link. Download from there and install it.

    Robert,
It seems to be enough to create empty folders at “/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk” and “/System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle”, to make Illustrator use Jave SE 8 as it should.
This way to get round the legacy JAVA requirement was presented by Kals in post #7 in this thread:

    Leo,
    Depending on your OS, you should be able to use;
    Win:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase6-419 409.html
    Mac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572
Some have found that the page may turn up blank to start with, so it may be necessary to reload the page.
Others have found that it may depend on browser. Specifically, a switch from Safari has solved it in one case.

  • How can I open Adobe Bridge CS6 in high resolution on my MacBook Pro Retina display?

How can I open Adobe Bridge CS6 in high resolution on my MacBook Pro Retina display? When I click Get Info, the "Open in Low Resolution" box is marked and locked. How can I unmark this box? I currently run 10.9.1. I can open Adobe Photoshop CS6 in high resolution without any problem. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

There is no such thing. In CS6 only PS itself is Retina compatible. You would have to use CC for full Retina support.

  • Since I installed yosemite I get a window to install legacy JAVA SE 6 RUNTIME and can't run ADOBE Illustrator Cs6 without it .

So anything LEGACY means it is probably not supported and chocked full of security  issues.
what JAVA flavor do I need to install?
    WHat do I do ?
I have a lot of work to do...
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Try this:
Download Java for Mac OS X 2014-001 from http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572.
Install the Java update using the downloaded .dmg file.
When installation is complete, a Software Update dialog box appears. The dialog box asserts that Java SE 6 Runtime is required to run Adobe Illustrator CS6.
In the Software Update dialog box, click Install.
    Launch Illustrator.
In Adobe Illustrator CS6 some plug-ins has dependency on Java, therefore Java is required for them to function properly.

  • Can't open Adobe Reader XI and reinstalled can't help.

A user Win7 PC (Windows 7 Pro. x64) can't open Adobe Reader XI after turned off computer directly during windows udpate (Not finish update)
    The opened error message is:
    ===============================================================
    c:\Program Files (x86\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRD32.exe
    支援映像類型所需的子系統不存在
(translate to english from google: Subsystems required to support the type of image does not exist)
    ===============================================================
    Have tried.
    1. Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader XI. Still have same open error when opened program.
    2. Used Adobe Reader Cleanup tools to clean up installed file and reinstalled Adobe Reader XI. Still have the same open error.
    3. Uninstalled and installed Adobe Reader 9. It can work normally.
Now I let the user to use Adobe Reader 9 but need to solve for him. As some pdf files are needed by newer Adobe Reader version.
Please help to fix.   Many thanks.

I have a similar problem - just posted this today, 5th July 2014. I get a message that says windows cannot find c:\programme files(x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd 32.exe.  Tried several uninstall/reinstalls with special programmes to check that uninstall was complete. Oddly, a download trial of the full programme Adobe Pro works OK !  If an expert out there can sort this it would be much appreciated.

  • I'm running Yosemite and get a pop up message when I try to open Adobe Illustrator "To open "Adobe Illustrator CS6" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime" It doesn't work

  • To open "Adobe Illustrator CS6," you need a Java SE 6 runtime

I get message when I try to launch a newlt installed version of Illustrator CS6 under mountain lion. Java is not on that machine but do I def have to install it or is there a way around this? Thanks

In case this may be useful for anyone running OSX Mavericks (10.9.3) and encountering the "...need Java se6 runtime..." to launch Illustrator CS6 message, I found the below link on an Apple support page tonight:
    Java for OS X 2013-005
I had already de-installed and re-installed Illustrator CS6, thinking this might solve the problem, but I was still getting the "...need java se6 runtime" message.
I assumed because the above link appeared to be for OSX Lion or Mountain Lion, that it wouldn't do me any good since I am running a newer OS (Mavericks). However, after downloading the "Java for OS X 2013-005" that's found via the above link I was able to launch Illustrator CS6.
I've been running OSX Mavericks for a few months and using Illustrator CS6 every day, and had never encountered the "...need Java se6 runtime..." message. What was different for me was, in the last 24 hours, I had the Apple Store re-install OSX Mavericks on my iMac to try to diagnose another issue. The "...need java se6 runtime..." message only started popping up since yesterday's re-install of OSX Mavericks.
I think I recall reading tonight that re-installing OSX Mavericks may wipe out previously-installed versions of Java, or at least this "Java se6 runtime" - whatever that actually is.

  • Adobe illustrator cs6 java 6 issue on os x yosemite

    Hi,
after upgrade to os x yosemite, when I try to open illustrator cs6, a popup appear and tell me to install java 6. Ok, after installing java 6 I have graphic issues with all my system: wierd buttons and windows, etc. How can I solve compatibility? Perhaps adobe cc solve this, but I already pay for adobe suite, I don't want to pay every year, maybe if the price is real, I will do in the future, but cs6 is ok, Of course this is another disscution. (sorry for my english)

I found a solution that worked for this, and also for other programs that asked to install the (old) Java SE6 Runtime, here:
Java SE 8 on Mac OS X | Oliver Dowling
I tried creating the folders first, and that did the trick.
creating two empty folders may also fix this issue. If the above does not work, you might want to give that a try. The two folders are:
    /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk
    /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle

  • Can't open Adobe Illustrator

After I updated Adobe Illustrator on the creative cloud I can't open it (the real thing is that I don't know how to open it)
I've tried to click on it and stuff but still can't open it. The only option that lets me do something is for the tutorials. I need
to do a proyect on it and I would really appreciate if someone helps me on this. I just want to know how to open it.
I've tried to download the trial but it just drags me to the program which is already installed.

The application should be in the Applications folder on your HD. Open the folder and double-click on the Adobe Illustrator CC.exe file to launch.

  • I can't open Adobe Illustrator since upgrade to Tiger

I had 9.1 and upgraded to Tiger. I have Adobe Illustrator and PS files that I thought were archived. I can't even open AI or PS.

I suggest you post this on Adobe's Illustrator forum, but include specific details such as the versions of Mac OS X and Illustrator you are using, how you tried to open the files, and any errors you saw.
