I can't open iTunes and I cannot uninstall it. What do I do?

I have a windows 7 PC and it says that windows installer isn't working properly when I try to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, and that is waht it is telling me to do when I open iTunes. See i tried updating iTunes earliar and it said that an error occured, then I tried re opening iTunes and it will not let me!!! This is driving me crazy, apple doesn't seem like they're much help.  I've been working on this for hours, i've even tried system recovery.

Hi, I'm new here, hope not doing anything wrong.
So what I usually do when I get those corrupted programs on windows I use ccleaner.

  • Can't open iTunes and Mail after installing Yosemite

Hi, I intsalled Yosemite and after the Installation i can't open iTunes and Mail anymore, how can i fix this ?

    Long shot.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail.  Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Restart, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

  • I can't open Itunes due to error -45075. What do I do?

I can't open Itunes due to error -45075. What do I do?

I Had this problem along with the error message that it's missing the driver GNSDK_DSP.DLL. I am Windows XP and fixed the error by going to Start>My Computer>Add or Remove Programs
When the Add or Remove programs list is "populated", Find iTunes on it. Click the link that says "For more information" and the iTunes box will expand. You will see a button that says "Repair" and it says to reinstall the program if it is not working correctly, use the "Repair" button. I clicked the Repair button and it automatically started the reinstall. When all the progress bars disappear (it doesn't really give you any other indication that its done) click the "close" button and try to open iTunes again. It worked first time for me. I also saw another forum where someone said it worked for the other Windows versions by following the same route, just that in other windows versions it might be "Computer" instead of "My Computer" and the Add or Remove Programs function is also called something else. Hope this helps somebody having this problem. It drove me crazy finding the answer, but the fix was super simple once I found out what to do.

  • Can't open itunes and tried almost everything

    Hi there,
I have the same problem as Chileen, already reinstalled itunes, quicktime and also installed ewido. i still can't open it and now get that error: Offset: 0007391.... don't know at all what this means...
      Windows XP

    Try this:
    click start, click run
    type "msconfig"
    click run
click the startup tab (last on the right)
    click "disable all"
    click apple
    click close
    restart computer
    try to open iTunes
Sounds like you have some security software on your compute that is causing interference with iTunes. The steps mentioned above prevents software from opening automatically and running in the background while you have Windows running. When your computer restarts, you will not have any other software running, and iTunes should not have any problems opening.
If iTunes works, make sure you go back and run MSCONFIG and disable 2 or 3 items at a time in the startup tab until you are able to pinpoint what exactly is causing iTunes to not launch.

    hiya!
No there are no error messages on it and i already ran a nortan antivirus scan
okay, if you've got Norton Internet Security 2005 on that PC, that might be what is causing your problem here.
if you've got NIS 2005, let's try giving the trusty Lorraine M technique a whirl:

  • Can't open iTunes and Audio doesn't work

    Hi! I need help!
Everytime I try to open iTunes I get an Error message that says:
"The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (-200)."
And once I started getting this error my audio stopped working. All my macbook pro does audio wise is play sound effects of what I do (move things to trash, delete things...etc.).
Anyone know what's going on here and what I can do to fix this problem?

Your iTunes issue should be posted to the iTunes forum area.
For your sound problems - Repair permissions & restart.

Open up GarageBand if installed then, open a program (optional).  Quit out of the GarageBand app.

Use this Apple document as a guide, for removing iTunes and the other Apple software -> Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Some people have had success using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to remove  applications that can't be uninstalled.

  • HT204088 i can not open itunes and app store in settings on my ipad mini

I cannot open my Itunes or App store on my ipad mini so I am unable to sign in to apple

    iOS Reset -
Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.

  • I can't open itunes and I'm losing faith... please help

Each time I try to run itunes I receive an error message reading "The instruction at "0x6b636975" referenced memory at "0x6b636975". The memory could not be "read"."
There are also several Asian (I think) characters in the pop up dialog box. I googled it, and only sites with the similar Asian script appear. I've also tried methods recommended for other error messages, but nothing has worked. Please help, before I give up on itunes forever!
    Thanks.

Thanks for the assistance. I do believe the problem is with Quicktime. I tried to install quicktime stand alone, and when I tried to open it, it didn't do anyting. No error message, nothing. When I try to uninstall it, it "encounters" a problem, unless I first delete the program file, then run the uninstall.
okay, perhaps let's try the following method for swapping out your QuickTime:
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
    7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll try to get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

  • HT1925 I uninstall all the itunes component except in the order i was supposed to as i found out later on, and know i can't remove Itunes and Apple software itself. What should i do..

I uninstalled all the Itunes components but not in the right order, now i can't uninstall the Itunes or the Apple Software thats left. What should I do?

many thanks. Okay, we'll give the following procedure a shot.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
