  • I can't open iTunes in Windows 7

I can't open iTunes in Windows 7 even I download the latest version.
    (iPhone is iOS 5.0.1)
It's 64-bit Windows 7 and every time I clicked "Agree" in tthe software license, it doesn't work.
Then the PC helping centre shows the following sentence:
"iTunes can not work normally anymore.iTunes has the latest version to download, this will solve the problem.Apple Inc. suggest you to upgrade to newest version of iTunes, to improve the safety and stability."
This shows for many times and I keep upgrade iTunes. How to  solve this problem?
P.S. Sorry for any grammatical and spelling mistakes. The sentence is translated by me from Chinese, hope you can know what I mean.

There are various things this could be. First restart you computer
Check to see if you QUicktime works as iTunes can't work without it. If it doesn't work, describe what happens.
Then run a virus and spyware scan as malware has been known to do this.
Then check to see if disabling your forewall allows iTunes to start, this hasn't been seen for a while, but in the past firwall blocking has caused iTunes to hang.
    Then work through this Apple help on troubleshooting launch failures;

I can not open itunes in windows 7, any suggestions?

Over time I've come across a number of posts concerning iTunes for Windows not opening. One conclusion from other Windows users that you might want to check out has been that it could be the result of malware on your PC. The advice has been to try scanning for malware with ewido, you'll find a free download at this link: ewido Anti-Malware

  • HT5318 cannot open itunes on windows 7 64 bit

I am no longer able to open iTunes on windows 7 64 bit.  Have tried "repair" option and remove and redownload.

I am trying to understand the exact sequence of events here:
Firstly the iTunes installer includes Quicktime and you should not have to install it separately.
You downloaded the 32 bit iTunes installer: iTunesSetup.exe.
Normally the correct version should be downloaded automatically so that shouldn't have happened.
When you tried to run it, did it warn you that you had the wrong version and stop without installing anything?
    Then you downloaded iTunes64Setup.exe
What happened when you tried to run that, did you get any error messages? If so give the full text.
What iTunes related programs do you actually have installed, if any?
Check in Programs on the Control Panel.
The following link on uninstalling iTunes lists the programs you need to look for.

Here is a solution that worked for a user who also had a problem with iTunes Software Support. This thread was for a win32 version, but Maybe this is the problem for both of you?:
IT appears that AppleApplicationSupport.msi, is not opening and installing properly.
Download and SAVE iTunesSetup.exe, where you can find it.
    Then:
    1. Download and install WinRAR.
    2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
    3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
    4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally.
Here is a link to that fairly lengthy thread.. http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2151777&tstart=-1

  • Can't Open iTunes, installer window appears asking to restart the computer

I have windows Vista-64 bit and I downloaded iTunes 8.0.2. Now once I install the software and use it the first time, it works fine. But after first time whenever I try to open iTunes it takes to the installer window which says "please wait while iTunes configure" and then I get the message "You must restart your system for the configuration changes made to iTunes to take effect. Click Yes to restart now or No if you plan to restart later". If I restart my computer and try to iTunes again, I am again taken to this installer window and the same messages appear. Thus I cannot open Itunes. Unless I uninstall it, and then reinstall it. Then I use it only the first time after installation. But as soon as I exit, i would face the same problem again. Please help

I don't know anything about 64 bit systems and there are differences in the registry. However this problem seems to be due to a problem writing to certain registry keys due to permission issues. HKEYCLASSESROOT\.pcast seems to crop up. this post may help you:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=5489263#5489263
But if you use the the event viewer to look at error messages after the problem has occurred you may find the the problem registry key.
If you are running iTunes from a limited user account, temporarily promoting the account might work.
Sometimes you can work round this issue by creating a short cut directly from iTunes.exe. Go to Program Files\iTunes and try starting iTunes.exe. If it opens OK, right click on iTunes.exe and select Send to>>Desktop(Create shortcut). Then use this to open iTunes. It does not fix the underlying problem which is that auto repair is being triggered as the install did not complete fully.

  • Am getting Routine error  R6034. I can not open iTunes.  Windows Vista Home  64 bit

For the  first time,am getting a routine error R6034. Do not let open my iTunes, and possible lost all my contents. Why is this happening, is it nothing  secure on the Internet no more even our music? Please  I appreaciate any good help. I tried to redownload am stil the same  message. During reinstallation.."Service Apple mobile device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges. Options   ABORT,RETRY,OR IGNORE. That is what am getting.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Can't open Itunes on Windows 7

When I click Itunes Icon, nothing happens.  I've tried a few things.  Restored the PC.  Uninstalled Itunes and Quicktime.  Reinstalled both, uupdated to the latest Itunes 11.01 and still nothing.  I want to install I07 but have to back up my iphone 1st.  I havent opened Itunes for a while so this is the 1st time I have noticed an issue.  With that being said, I followed instructions from Apple Troubleshoot but still have had no success.  Please advise.  Thank you.

It didn't crash, I got no errors, and it would blink in my Task manager bar briefly then fade away like it wasn't opened. All processes were closed when I restarted the computer.
I actually went through the steps here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717 and it seemed that it was only specific to the main user account on my computer. Also what I did was try to create/recreate the iTunes library. Basically what I was the following:
        Create a new iTunes Library
Hold the Shift key while opening iTunes. You will be prompted to Choose iTunes Library.
Choose Create Library (I simply chose to open my existing library) to create a new one (I did not create a new library, I chose to open my existing one). In the following window you will be prompted to select a location to save the new iTunes Library. (I didn't get this step because when I chose my existing Library, iTunes opened like normal)

  • Can't download Itunes for Windows (NOT 64 bit)

there is no itunes i can download that will work with NON-64 bit windows. I clicked on both version 11 and 10.7 and the download is 64 bit! where is the correct software?

    +Could not open key:+
    HKeyLocalmachine/software/mozillaplugins/@Apple.com/itunes
That's an unusual key to be getting an error on.
Does your XP user account have administrative rights? If, so let's have a look at the permissions on that key.
Go "Start > Run", type regedit and hit enter.
    Expand HKEYLOCALMACHINE
    Expand SOFTWARE
    Expand MozillaPlugins
Right-click on the @apple.com/folder and select "Permissions".
Select your User Account name in the list.
Is there a check in the box under "Allow" next to "Full Control"?

  • TS1829 Can't install iTunes on Windows 7 64 bit system

I get this message: "errors occurred during installation before iTunes could be configured" while trying to install iTunes 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit. Tried turning windows Defender and running it but same result. Itunes worked fine on Vista, but since going to Win 7, no luck. Can't update iPhone or anything :-(

Are there any special charaters in your user name? I know that has caused issues in the past. You might need to contact Adobe support for this one.
