I can't open many of the links in E-mails I receive

Hi, I have an Apple Mac Book Pro 13 inch, which was 'built' in late 2013. Running OSX Version 10.9.2. Mail Version 7.2 (1874).
On a number of occasions when I click on a link within an E-mail the Safari page opens with the link in the task bar, yet then quickly clears the task bar and opens a blank (grayish background) page.
If I close this down and go back to the E-mail and click the link again it opens quickly and correctly.
This is not all the time, yet is annoying enough to be a nescience. There is no common theme to the E-mails so I cant pin it down to a specific sender or type of E-mail.
I have read a number of forums and my browser is set to the default Safari, Any help would be great. Thanks,

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Lot of problems using this site, keep getting server errors. Works fine with Firefox. USAir support said it had to do with problems in this latest version of Safari, Safari 5.03.
I accessed this site with previous versions of Safari with no problems. They said I needed to specify that USAIR was a trusted site,.... I have no idea what they were talking about. Anybody have a clue why many of the links under dividend miles do not work?

I find nothing in the keychain that relates to USAirways or any parts of the addresses that won't open.
However still have the problem. To be more specific I cannot access any menu items under Dividend Miles menu that have to do with me like Book Travel or My Account. Seems logical to go to the login in the upper right part of the page, that link doesn't work either. In Firefox, if I go to book travel or my account it takes me to a login screen for id and password, the same screen you get if you click on "login". In Safari I get the server error and also I get the server error with Safari if I click on "login" at the top right of the page. Here s the error page I get:

I've just downloaded Firefox 4, with Google as my Homepage.When I start a search, I get a page of results but can't open any of the links. The search just stops.

I've reset my firewall, re-booted and made sure that it was a 'clean' Download all with no result.

Are you using Internet Explorer 8 at present ? <br/>
Does Firefox actually work or can you not even use this messageboard with Firefox ?
You have a search bar (by default) on the top right of the screen, that will include an option to use google, does that work ?
Your ordinary location bar where you type addresses also (by default) uses google, is that working ok ? <br/>
What happens if you type in "firefox", I would expect you to get a google search page with mozilla.com towards the top of the list.
Try firefox in [[Safe Mode]], but on the first dialogue window do not make changes, just click the continue button.

Try this.
Open the document and select and copy a few pages, say ten pages.
Open a new blank document and paste the pages you copied into that.
Save it with a new name.
Work on those new pages to see if the problem has disappeared.
If this helps, continue breaking up the large file in to smaller chunks and working on them
You can of course later reverse the process and merge the files into one new one.
This suggestion is based on my experiences with large Word files. Breaking it up in to smaller chunks does two things. First, if there is any corruption in the old file, the new copies might escape that. Second, the Mac is faster handling the smaller chunks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the + box". Is that a feature on one of your toolbars?

Can not open many programs including Safari on double clickng the icons

Thank you for the update. I recommend verifying that you are signed in with the same Apple ID associated with or used to purchase iPhoto on the App Store under the Store menu.
If you are signed in with an alternate Apple ID, I recommend signing out of the App Store, signing back in with the correct Apple ID, and then trying the update again:
Sign out
Choose Store > Sign Out.
Sign in using an Apple ID
Choose Store > Sign In, or click Sign In in the Quick Links section. The Quick Links section is located in the right part of the window shown when you click Featured, Top Charts, or Categories in the toolbar.
Enter your Apple ID and password, and then click Sign In.

Why can't we copy from the Link Info box anymore in CS5 Indesign? arrrrgggggh!

Hi does anyone know of an update so we can copy image numbers from the Link Info box in Indesign? We can't do this anymore in the CS5 upgrade..... and I'm so over typing out the long stock numbers to order hires images. It takes too much time! Thanks for your help in advance! Cheers, - Mel
