I can't open my firefox home page

everytime i try to open my firefox home page, it won't open, but when i restart my laptop, all the unlaunched mozilla pages opened and i don't have a choice because i can't access them any longer because my laptop had restarted already.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for jzip via the Filter at the top of the about:config page. 
You can reset all jzip related prefs via the right-click context menu to their default values.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

Firefox doesn't do email, so there are no "Firefox email accounts". If you are accessing "email" with Firefox, you are using web mail. Some web mail services don't allow for direct access, they want their users to access their email from a "portal" or "main" page and will re-direct any attempt to load an "internal" web site page back to the main page.
As far as loading 3 different web mail accounts at the same time, if they are in the same domain it won't work on Firefox without a Firefox addon. http://br.mozdev.org/multifox/
IOW, if those three email accounts all with Yahoo, without that add-on you would have to logon to each email account separately and log out of the first before logging into the 2nd. Then log out of the 2nd before logging into the 3rd. Firefox isn't capable of having multiple session cookies for simultaneous logon's to the same server. That add-on provides that "multiple sessions cookies" feature.

Firefox will install, and open the FIREFOX home page--------------but then is unable to download anything else-WHY

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Two add-ons mentioned by Tony E. are NewTabURL or New Tab Homepage.
Also, whenever you open the new tab, you can just click on the home icon. That is what I do.

The letter"a" becomes seperated from its associated word, and is put onto a seperate line of its own. For instance, I open my Firefox home page, and ther I have my BT mail alerts. This is spread out as previously described. Any comments of fixes?

I alraedy allow pages to select their own font in the tools. When I open my firefox browser (home page) I get my personalised info, for example my BTyahoo mail preview. This is a typical example of letter seperation, with the letter "a" appearing on a different line. When I refresh the page using the firefox refresh button in the top left, this doesn't cure it, but when I use the refresh option in the btyahoo mail section, it refreshes to normal appearance. Firefox is coded to open new tabs in a blank page. That may change in Firefox 4. I don't know.
In the meantime, there is an add-on called Tab Mix Plus that I think provides that option. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122/

You can start by checking the Home page setting to see if that still links to the Google Home page (http://www.google.com/firefox)

You can also check the startup setting just above the home page setting.

How can i make firefox open to home page instead of "new tab"? My setting are correct, but it will not open to the home page.

You can try to delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case session restore tries to open an older session.
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

Since updating to firefox 9.0.1, every time I open up the browser, it opens to the "Hooray your firefox is up to date" page and then opens up my home page as a second window. Can you help?

You can install one of the many add-ons to accomplish this. There are many different ones available, so you can just go to the Firefox add-ons page and search for "Home Page".
Also, ensure that you've setup Firefox with your Home Page URL. If you haven't done so, follow the steps below:

Keep resetting firefox, it doesn't keep settings (I.E. to open on my home page), and when opening a tab the 3*3 links aren't there.
