I can't open my scripts.

I have been using Adobe Story Free and it's not opening anymore. Please help.

First please make sure that you are using latest version of flash player. You can install the latest one from here: Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions
Then try to login again. You can also try to login from a different browser(say firefox).

• Can't open perl script "/opatch.pl": No such file or directory

After installed Oracle 9.2.04 and applied patch p3006854, p3948480 and p4188455 on Linux AS4, I found that I can not start agent. If I execute "agentctl start", oracle will through our error like:
Starting Oracle Intelligent Agent.../u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0/bin/dbsnmpwd: line 156: 1855 Segmentation fault nohup $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbsnmp $*

I searched Internet and some article said p3238244 is needed. So I started to install it. At the very beginning, the error is "Can not find ../oui/OraInstall.jar". I found this file in "../oui/jlib" and copy it to "../oui". Then I run "opatch apply" and the error is "Can't open perl script "/opatch.pl": No such file or directory". This time I can not find much similiar information from google.
Any idea?
PS: I changed path of inventory during the installation to "/henry/cwdata" ($ORACLE_HOME=/henry/app/oracle/product/9.2). Will this action cause the error below? What is the usage of inventory path exactly?
Much appreciated!

• Adobe Story Free can't open my script

I have been using this site for weeks now and create a screenplay for my college class.  I last logged in and complete 41 pages on Wednesday, December 12th.  I just logged in an hour ago to complete the rest of the 5 pages I need to complete for class that is due tomorrow and the scrip is gone.  Can anyone offer any help?  I am freaking out...this is worth too much of my grade and I can't possibly finish in time if I have to redo the entire thing.  Help Please!!!

Hi,
Which browser are you working on? Can you switch to another browser and log in to your account.
You can also switch to sync issues folder and see if the script is present there.

• Can't open Fl-published .html in Dw; get warning re: script/get Fl/Fl player

I designed a Web site in Fl CS3 with AS2. I published .fla to create .html file. Usually I can then open this .html in Dw and manipulate positioning etc. but I have been getting this warning when I try: // Provide alternate content for browsers that do not support scripting // or for those that have scripting disabled. Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash
I have Fl and I have updated Fl player. My AS contains no errors. Is there a setting somewhere that is creating this problem? What really puzzles me is that I had no problem doing this last week and now I can't get past this warning to make some simple adjustments to my index.html file.

I have the same issue. My project is super simple. All the files are in the same directory. The doc class and the .fla have the same name. The project publishes without a hitch in Flash Professional CC. When I try to add the project to Flash Builder 4.7 it give me:
Exception in BridgeTalk call
Function: getFLABuildPaths
Error message: Error. Cannot find the file ....
I have checked the path to the .fla twice and scrutinized the spellings and they are correct. It is pointing right to the correctly named .fla, but for some reason it fails. I'll post if I find out something usefull.

• I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any websites in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

3 websites gave me this message:- "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete." I chose to stop the script each time. However I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any website in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
#Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the [[Uninstall Firefox from your computer#w_uninstall-firefox|Uninstall Firefox]] article.
'''IMPORTANT:''' On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do '''not''' check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox [[Profiles|user profile data]] will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
* '''(On 32-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''
* '''(On 64-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox''
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
#In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the '''Program Files''' folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the '''Program Files (x86)''' folder.
#Look for a '''Mozilla Firefox''' folder. If you find one, right-click it and select ''Delete'' and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

• CUCM 4.1(3) installing Dev Pack 89 - "can't open script file"

Hello All,
I'am trying to isntall the 4.1 dev pack 89 on CUCM 4.1(3) server.  It unpacks the contents then says "can't open script file".  I closed the CSA agent and I have no virus scanners running.  Has anyone had this issue before?  Thanks
Jason Steig

Paul,
I assume you are referring to 10.1.3 DP4. The previews are not reverse compatible with previous previews. Unfortunately this means that you will need to re-map any project created in 10.1.3 DP3 or earlier.
We believe we have finalized the file formats for the release and our intention is to have the DP4 projects be completely compatible with the final release.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Doug

Well, it took a long time, but I eventually got it working properly.  All of the presets and codecs show up, I can import AVCHD files properly with audio, and the project I couldn't open before now opens fine, so it turned out not to be a corrupt project. It looks like the problem was that the cleaner script didn't actually clean everything it should have, and I had to do it all manually.
I uninstalled all of the Adobe Creative Cloud software, rebooted, ran the CC Cleanup script, and rebooted again.
Then I uninstalled Flash and ALL other Adobe software I had on my machine.
Then I used the Find Any File app to find every reference on my Mac to any file with "adobe" in the name--including system files--and deleted them and emptied the trash.
The only Adobe things I left on my machine were the Adobe RGB color profile and any Adobe fonts I had.
Empty the trash again, reboot again.
Then I used the CC installer to install Premiere and only Premiere (I didn't even install Adobe Media Encoder) because I didn't want to go through all that download time only to have it fail on me again.
And at long last it worked. Then I went back and installed Media Encoder, which didn't seem to break anything, so I went back and installed the other CC software I wanted on my machine, and things are working at last.
The "cleaner" script leaves a LOT of Creative Cloud-related files on your machine, which, in my opinion, means it's not a very effective "cleaner."  It seems to want to leave a lot of preference files and other files whose purpose I don't know (but I deleted them anyway).  There should at least be a checkbox somewhere on the cleaner that says "wipe absolutely everything related to Adobe off of my machine".
Thanks again for your suggestions, Neil.

• Can't Open Adobe Story Script File

I have cleared my cache and tried other browsers and still..can't access my saved script. I can see the file, but when I click on it, the page is blank. Don't understand? Any insights?

Hi,
After opening the script please go to the 'View' menu and open 'History...' to see if there is an older version of your script  saved. If there is you can open that version and click on 'Make latest' to make it your current version.
If not please email your account ID, project name and script name at DL-AdobeStory-support<at>adobe<dot>com so that we are able to look further into this.
Thanks

• Can I open a recordset On Client Side Script?

Hi Guys,
On a form I have a client side VBscript thet checks the email
addy a user has added into a text box in a form and if its in the
array of values set in the script it gets refused. This works.....
I would like to adapt this a little if possible and make it
so that instead of hardcoding the array values into the script, I
would like to have the array values taken from a recordset because
it will allow the user to add and delete bad domains via a form and
not need to go into the page code to add to the array I have at the
moment.
I have tried serval times to replace my array loop with a
recordset while loop to get the badDomains from the field in the
database but I just get script error on page in my task bar.
Can I open a recordset from a client side script?
Id apprecaiate eny thoughts on how I can do this.
Thanks again

Hi Envision,
Its actually VBScript im in at the moment...
I have tried to get my client script to run but im still just
not getting it although I dont think im far away, mixing client
side and server side scripts to get this array loaded is still
throwing me a bit !!!!!!
I tried to follow the For loop suggested in JS but did it in
VBS and wondered if anyone could give it a look and point me to my
errors?
I dont like just posting code without being asked as its a
bit presumptious of me but Im not asking anyone to write this for
just point me to my problems hopefully.....
Here is what I have , when the page loads I used DW to make a
recordset for me to open the table with stored bad domains and this
client script is supposed to harness the recordset created server
side by DW and loop through the field and compare whats in the
forms email textbox..
Sub CheckMail()
Dim sValidationMessage
Dim sEmail
Dim sBadDomains()
Dim nIndex
dim counter
sValidationMessage = ""
sEmail = Document.Form2.email.value
nIndex = 0
counter =<%=(rsGetBadDomains_total)%>
If Not (InStr(1, sEmail, "@") > 0 And InStr(1, sEmail,
".") > 0) Then
sValidationMessage = "You have entered an invalid email
address!"
End If
If Len(sValidationMessage) = 0 Then
For nIndex = 0 to counter
sBadDomains(nIndex) =
<%=(rsGetBadDomains.Fields.Item("sBadDomains").Value)%>
If InStr(1, sEmail, sBadDomains(nIndex)) > 0 Then
sValidationMessage = "You have entered an unsuitable E-Mail
address please use your main ISP E-Mail address"
Exit For
End If
nIndex=nIndex+1
Next
End If
If Len(sValidationMessage) > 0 Then
MsgBox sValidationMessage
document.Form2.email.select
Else
document.Form2.submit()
End If
End Sub
Thanks again for all the support so far.

• My $20 to the person who can write this simple script for Fission

Here is what I need to automate. I don't care if it's an Apple Script, or an Automator work flow - whatever - just so it will work with my present setup. Once I test it and it works, I'll send $20 to the first person who can help me.
Script needs to apply to each (and every) MP3 file in a selected folder:
Open the first file with Fission v1.6.6 (from: www.rogueamoeba.com)
Select all
Normalize
Save audio (in same folder)
A warning dialog pops up: "File already exists..." -- answer with "Replace"
Close file
Repeat for next file in the folder, until every file has been Normalized
End script when the last file in folder has been Normalized
I don't mind finding the folder (which will be in my iTunes Library), and then starting the set of actions on the folder but I definitely don't want to be required to take any additional action on each and every file.
I'm presently running Fission v1.6.6 under MacOS 10.4.11 on a PPC desktop, so it needs to work in that environment.
Note that the latest version of Fission requires MacOS 10.5 - I can't use any script that requires that version. Rogue Amoeba's Legacy software page (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/legacy/) shows Fission v1.6.8 as working with 10.4, but that contradicts the Version History for Fission which shows 1.6.6 as the last one for 10.4 - still investigating.

Pierre L.
Thanks for the effort!
First, I can clarify this: Rogue Amoeba confirms that I can use the version 1.6.8 of Fission located on their Legacy page with my OS version 10.4.11, so I've upgraded from 1.6.6 to 1.6.8. Seems to be working OK.
Next, let me apologize for being mostly ignorant about all things AppleScript. I'm really in over my head, here, because I've not used the ScriptEditor for more than a few minutes before today.
What I've done so far:
I checked the box in the Universal Access preferences pane to enable access for assistive devices.
I copied your script from this forum and pasted it into Script Editor.
I've Compiled your script, then "Saved As" an "Application" on my Desktop.
When I double click the icon for the saved script (which ends in xyz.app), a navigation window appears, which I used to select a test folder on my desktop.
When I Choose the test folder, Fission launched, and selected the whole file, as expected. Then I get an error:
"NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4" - with buttons to "Edit" or "OK"
Thinking it might be a timing error, I edited the delays:
set theFolder to choose folder
tell application "Fission" to activate
tell application "Finder"
set theApp to POSIX path of (get file of process "Fission")
set theFiles to document files of theFolder
repeat with thisFile in theFiles
open thisFile using POSIX file theApp
tell application "System Events" to tell process "Fission"
delay 18 -- adjust if necessary
keystroke "a" using command down -- Select All
delay 2 -- adjust if necessary
click menu item "Normalize Selection" of menu 1 of menu bar item 7 of menu bar 1
delay 4 -- adjust if necessary
keystroke "s" using {shift down, command down} -- Save Audio…
delay 3 -- adjust if necessary
keystroke return -- Save
delay 2 -- adjust if necessary
click button "Replace" of sheet 1 of window "Save Audio"
end tell
end repeat
end tell
tell application "Fission" to quit -- optional
... Compiled, and Saved again.
Now, the script runs up to the point where it should answer the Save pop-up window: "File already exists..." with the keystroke to "Replace" - but the script stops there, with the same error: "NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4"
Bottom line: so far, I've been able to get the first mp3 file in my test folder Normalized, but not Saved. Any suggestions?

• Iweb installed on a new computer but i have this error message: Can't open file "~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2."

I have just installed ilife on my  new computer from my disk. I have several backups of my webpage from my  old computer. Everything would be great if I could just run the program. When I click the icon for iWeb I get the following message:  Can’t open file “~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2.”
Somebody please help! I desperately need to update my website.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
tell application "iWeb" to activate
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

• Can't open trash

I was in the Yosemite beta program and I noticed around the second or third beta release (may have happened in the first one, this is just when I noticed it) that I am unable to open my trash.  I can right click and empty the trash just fine, but I cannot open the trash either through clicking the dock icon or by right-clicking it and choosing "Open Trash".  Nothing happens.
Furthermore, trying to open the trash causes some other problems on the system.
When I first log on to my Mac, I can click the Finder icon on the dock and it opens a window to the appropriate folder.  I can close that window and re-open it by clicking on the icon as many times as I want.  But if I try to open the trash (unsuccessfully) and then click on the Finder dock icon, it opens a blank window to nowhere.  The window is titled "Window", all the buttons at the top are greyed out, there is no left-hand column of shortcuts, and the search doesn't work.  It is just a useless blank window.  If I right-click the finder icon, and choose "New Finder Window", it opens a folder as intended, but I can never open finder again by clicking on the dock icon until I log out and log back in.
If I try to drag a file to the trash and hover it there for a few moments (which would normally cause the window to open) the icon freezes over the trash and Finder becomes non-responsive.  I have to force quit Finder for it to relaunch and let me continue.
This error occurs both on my main user and on the system's guest account
This is not a huge problem since I usually don't need to open my trash.  I just reported it using the feedback assistant app and ignored it, hoping that one of the following betas would fix the problem.  Now we're a version or two past release and the problem remains.  It's really bugging me.
How can I fix this?

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.
