I can't open numbers application just boots me out??? Have reinstalled still no go ? Any suggestions?
I cannot open numbers app, has worked in the past but now just returns to home screen. I have tried uninstalling but still not working. Any ideas??
What app(s) are you using. You could delete the app and redownload.

I installed Mavericks a few days ago and downloaded all the available updates, which installed correctly (or so it says). Now I can't open my iPhoto app because it says it's being updated. Any suggestions?
There are two ways to recover from this condition.
1. Select
Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. Stop or resume the download.
2. Open LaunchPad and find the icon of the app you're trying to install. There will be a small progress bar below it. Click the "X" to stop the download. -
I updated by iPhone to iOS 7.0.2. My phone won't sync with my iTunes because I need to have 11.1. I can't get the new iTunes because my MacBook Pro is only 10.5.8. Any suggestions on how to get this done? I need my calendars to sync. The MacBook pro doesn't have iCloud, so I can't sync that way.

Can only open FF one time without rebooting. Have reinstalled. Same problem
Firefox worked fine until 5.0 on this pc. Now, have to reboot or even uninstall/reinstall to get it to open. Then it will only open once.
5.0 works fine on my laptop, just not thid desktop.I am not having the same issue, and I am running 10.5.2 OS and 6.0.2 FCP. I also have FCP 6.0.2 on a computer running 10.4.11 and I have duplicate media on both systems, and bring a file back and forth and don't have to connect the media one at a time. This was a wide spread problem with 6.0.1, and the 6.0.2 update fixed that for most people. Why you are still having that problem is odd. Try trashing your FCP prefs with FCP RESCUE, and also try repairing your permissions with the Disk Utility.

After upgrading my iphone 5 to IOS 7.0.2, itunes does open properly. The app appear almost blank as it is hang up condition. Does anyone have a suggestion to solve this?
Hi,
Close the App Store app and the iTunes app by pressing the Home button twice, and swiping them up.
Then go to Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data
Open the apps again.
I'd recommend as well to sign out and in using Settings > iTunes & App Store

I've been using Firefox for a long time. Today I decided to change the settings to delete my history when I closed the window. Now when I try to open up Firefox I get a continuous pinwheel. I deleted Firefox from my computer and reinstalled, but it still won't work. There's now a grey icon titled Firefox with a square and a circle and line through it. When I try to delete this icon, it won't let me, saying Firefox is still running. When I try to open the icon, I get the following message: "You can't open this application Firefox because it may be damaged or incomplete."
Any suggestions on what to do?Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

Installing iDVD shouldn't affect iPhoto. I still have iDVD on my machine and it runs just fine!

I have adobe acrobat 11 reader writer I want to use the pointer symbol on full screen instead of the hand, iwas able to do it on adobe 10 also when in full screen i can't open attachments unless i right click and open it then it boots me out of full screen is there any way i can click on the attacment without going out of full screen
I don't know why the change, but the pointer appears in the same way as it does on the main screen, not a pointer. There does not appear to be anyway to change it. You may want to submit a comment to the Features Requests: Acrobat Feature Requests. I also submitted this as a bug.
As a clarification, your "adobe acrobat 11 reader writer" is not informative. There is Acrobat 11 and Reader 11. Writer is not a product as such. So you have referred to Acrobat in a contradictory manner. In the future, please just indicate Acrobat 11 or Adobe Acrobat 11. -
New MacPro 10.9.4 purchased three weeks ago included Keynote. App worked fine. New update for Keynote was released August 21. Just downloaded the 6.2.2 update. Tried to launch app and now get error message "You can’t open the application “Keynote.app” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." Confused as to why it worked prior to update. Nothing else has changed. No issues with recent iMovie, Pages or Numbers updates. Any ideas?
I tested this:
Reinstalled Aperture 3.1 from the Trial Installer.
In some way it seems to be working. But the whole thing is a scary Chimera.
It can create an Aperture library. I can import and edit images, even in Graphic Converter ias an external editor.
But the Media Browser does not show the aperture Library that I created.
The versioning is inconsistent. The library appears as an Aperture 3.4 library in the Finder. Aperture 3.5 seems to be able to read this library and to upgrade it to 3.5
The Applications folder is showing the application as version 3.4 and as compatible. Spotlight is showing it as illegal.
When opening the chimera Aperture, I see plenty of warnings in the Console window:
An Aperture "Hang" report
xpcproxy assertion failed
com.apple.IconServiceAgent: main failed to composite image
quicklookd: Warning
and more ... the hang was critical. I had to force quit Aperture more than once.
So be careful. I would not trust any important Aperture library to this patched application, without testing thoroughly. Be careful with your precious photos. -
Just upgraded to Mac Lion... can't access Appleworks6...get this message... "You can't open the application AppleWorks 6 because PowerPC applications are no longer supported".... I've got dozens of documents saved that I can't access?!!!!!
Rosetta is not included Lion, if you are not familiar with Rosetta it was an application included in Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard that allowed PPC based apps to run on Intel based machines. That was over 5 years ago so it's time to move on. As has been suggested you can read those documents in Pages which is available on the App Store. Pages is part of the iWorks suite that replaced AppleWorks years ago. Currently iWorks is on iWorks 09 , and includes Pages, Numbers and Keynote. You can find each on the App store.

I just download mountain lion to my mac, now microsoft office suite doesn't work....it says 'you can't open the application 'microsoft word' because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. What does this mean and what do I have to do to fix it?? HELP!!
Install Snow Leopard on another boot partition, or upgrade Microsoft Office to a newer version, or use any number of better alternatives. Some of them are free.

In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for over a year now. Life is better without Microsoft. -
I just downloaded the new Mavericks operating sytem on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro, 17" 2.53GHz, Intel Core I5 machine. My IPhoto is no longer working at all, I'm getting an error message that says - "You Can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac". I also loaded Mavericks onto my other MacBook Pro 17", mid 2009 model and everything works fine. I would think that the newer Mac would easily work with IPhoto. Also, when I try to download from the App Store, it asks for my Apple ID and Password, I enter it, and then the little spinning color wheel just spins forever, with nothing ever happening. I tried downloading the IPhoto Upgrade but it never actually downloads, HELP!!!
What version of iPhoto do you have installed? Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5. It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

I just got a notice to update my firefox to 4.0 and when I downloaded the new software it indicated: that I can't open the application "Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecture. Any ideas about what might be wrong and how to fix it?

I just upgraded to OS X Lion and now I can't open the application Adobe ImageReady CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
There is no fix. It simply means that the software is outdated. Adobe would need to release a newer non-PPC version that supports Lion. They may have done that already, I don't know.
