?  Why does my Photoshop PS2 open on my Mac Book Pro OS 10.6.8 Intel Core 2 Processor but not on my just purchased Mac Book Pro OS 10.7.3? On my new machine I get a message saying "You can't open Photoshop CS2 because Power PC applications are no longer supported". I don't have a Power PC on either machine and this App does run on the older machine with an Intel processor. benrusy

This is not new.  The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now.  You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop

  • Downloaded Yosemite and now can't open photoshop on Mac Book Pro?

I have downloaded Yosemite on MacBook Pro and now can't open photoshop.
I have updated Java but still no help.
Anyone know anything about this please?

If you updated the OS after Photoshop 5.x was installed, the nefarious Yosemite disjointed beast damaged your Photoshop installation.  Thank Apple for that.
You need to UNinstall Photoshop again, look for, download and run the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool, Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility, install Photoshop from scratch again, apply any and all available Photoshop updates, and ONCE AGAIN Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility—in that precise order.

  • I can not open photoshop CC

I have a Creative cloud singel-app membership for photoshop , and i have updated from photoshop CS6 to photoshop CC , but i can not open photoshop CC becours it is asking for a product key .

I have the same issue. It is working fine on y iMac, but on my macbook air it will not download. In the CC it says next to the PS icon "up to date" and green tick, but I cannot click on the icon. When I click more info it takes me to internet page for the download. When I click Download, it reverts me back to the CC app. It is as if PS CC is already on my laptop, but it isnt. !! Frustrating. ive tried unistalling CC, but no difference

Try resetting the pse 2 preferences and see if that clears things up.
    reset preferences
Press and hold down the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after starting the launch of pse 2
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to Delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File
    Press Yes

  • After installing icloud, I can't open Photoshop CS, please help. I am an artist and need photoshop to work.

After installing icloud, I can't open Photoshop CS, please help. I am an artist and need photoshop to work.

Did you upgrade to Lion just before setting up iCloud? that's more likely to be the issue. PhotoShop CS2 is a PPC program and won't run on Lion - on Snow Leopard it requires Rosetta to emulate PPC, and this is not included in Lion. CS3 and lateer apparently work though with issues.
Click on the program's icon in the Finder and hit command-i. Near the top of the pane it will say 'Kind': if it says 'PowerPC' then this is the problem. It will not run on Lion and there is no workaround. You will need to revert to Snow Leopard (you could install this on an external disk and start up from that).

how corrupted part of PhotoShop? Should I try and reinstall PhotoShop? I have a MacBook Pro 13"; 2011; 4g mem; intel core i5.
    Any suggestions?

You should check with Adobe, but it's likely they'll say that Photoshop CS5 isn't supported on Yosemite and they'll recommend you update to a new CC version, which of course requires a subscription.
It could be that Photoshop requires a Java installation (and probably an old one), that isn't running on Yosemite by default. Java 6 is not "new," it's in fact very old. I do think you can download Java 6 from Apple - check apple.com/support/downloads.

  • Hi i have download photoshop to try it 60 days, but i can't open photoshop. I have windows 8 in my computer?

Hi i have download photoshop to try it 60 days, but i can't open photoshop. I have windows 8 in my computer?

When photoshop installs on windows 8, odds are you will not see it on the start page. You will need to right click on the background or if you upgraded to 8.1 then click on the down arrow at the bottom left of start page.
This will bring up a page that shows all apps. Scroll across until you see photoshop CC or photoshop CC 2014. Click on that name to bring it up. Before you do, you can right click on that name and pin it to the start page and or the taskbar. Then it will be easier for you run it the next time.

  • Can't open Photoshop CS2 anymore!!

After several months of being a satisfied Photoshop User, I suddenly cannot open Photoshop CS 2. I keep getting the message: "An error has been detected with a required application library and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application." Other information is not given.
I tried reinstalling Photoshop CS several times, restarting, deleting even userfiles, and so on. Nothing works. From the message I'm given I take it there's a specific Windows file that is missing or something not from Adobe itself, which I had before. I did have my AntiVirus running before but I can't find any removed files in there. All other applications run fine, only Adobe seems to have problems so far.
I also tried to follow the Support files here on the site, but the solutions they give there do not fix the problem! Photoshop starts normally, I see the startup screen just fine, but then I get that message again.
Is there anyone who can help me out please? I'm quite desperate.

What does any of this have to do with the SDK? I dunno. That's where the original post was. That's where I posted a link directing the conversation to a more appropriate forum.
And that's where you jumped in to continue the thread with sound advice* like "stuff is broken" and "figure it out." Similar to the Adobe corporate response to this issue: spoken with authority, but of little practical value.
*Unaware, apparently, that this attempt at a fix has been tried and found wanting by users everywhere, as a simple Google Web and Group search shows.
