I can't open Photoshop Elements 11 after a redownload.

I am trying to redownload Photoshop Elements 11 on my new PC. There are 2 files to download.  I can't download the second file, nor can I open it. I get an error message that says I am missing the "archive file part."  What do I do?

Thanks for the suggestion.  The program had already been transferred to the
new computer.  I just couldn't find what i needed to run it, so i tried to
download it again.  It is installed once again.
Thanks again!

Try resetting the pse 2 preferences and see if that clears things up.
    reset preferences
Press and hold down the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after starting the launch of pse 2
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to Delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File
    Press Yes

  • I can't open Photoshop Elements 8 (Editor) Please Help

    Hello,
I am new here and I am hoping I can get someone to help me out.
I've recently Downloaded Photoshop Elements 8 (trial) for my Brand New Computer (I use Windows 7)
in hopes of purchasing it after learning the program a little bit, well I'm glad I haven't purchased it yet since I've run into a problem
I cannot get Photoshop Elements Editor to open, I can however use the organizer.
I have already tried the following things in hopes of fixing this problem
    Uninstal-Reinstal
Services, Flexnet and made sure it was on
Pushed Control Alt and Shift and clicked on the editor button
    all with no luck.
I'm really hoping someone has had this problem before and can help me out, I was really looking forward to using this program since I also own Photoshop Elements 6 and the same thing happend (I found out it is not compatible and have since uninstalled it)
Thank you so much for your help

  • Can't open Photoshop Elements 6 for mac

I've had Photoshop Elements 6 for mac for over a year and it was working fine although RAW was never able to update.  About a week ago I went to open it and it would not open.  I've tried daily, have done all Apple updates and all Adobe updates and it still wouldn't open.  Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still won't open.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Over the decades, I've found that HOW you start an application can make a difference.  Applications that refused to run when started one way would work very well when started another way.  Speaking as an ex-programmer, this shouldn't happen.  But someone once said that in theory, there's no difference between theory and practice - but in practice, there is.
You might try to start Elements in different ways to see what happens.
Try to start Elements by going into the Applications folder and actually clicking on the Elements icon.
Try to start Elements by double-clicking on a picture.
Try to start Elements by going into iPhoto, selecting a picture, and clicking on the "Edit" button at the bottom of the screen.  I assume you have told iPhoto to open Elements to edit your pictures.  I've also told iPhoto to open a picture in iPhoto when I double-click on a picture in iPhoto.  I didn't specify that above because I wasn't sure you had done the same.
At some point, you should realize that you're spending a lot of time trying to get an old version of an application to run.  Elements 8 is out and is running very well on 10.6.3.
How much time are you willing to spend to get Elements 6 to work?  I'm not trying to be a salesman for Adobe, but at some point, you should think of paying the money and buying a copy of Elements 8.

  • Can't install Photoshop Elements after downloading

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements and downloaded it to my new laptop (MacBook Air OS X, 10.7.2).  It has apparently downloaded completely but when I click the Install button, I get the message "The following disk images couldn't be opened, invalid checksum".  I went back to the software library and downloaded it again, as suggested, and it still didn't work.  Please help!

No, I haven't had any problems with other disc images.  I checked to see that Photoshop had downloaded completely and it had (.dmg).  I don't have an inti-virus program to disable, I restarted the computer and clicked on the installation icon again, and each time that I did that, the same message appeared.  I have not yet gotten as far the screen which asks for the registration #.

  • Can't open Photoshop Elements 4 or 6 - URGENT

    Hi,
I use both Photoshop Elements 4 and Photoshop Elements 6 in the work I do. The last time I opened either program was Friday of last week. Since I last opened them I have made the following changes to my system:
Unistalled an older version of Adobe Flash Player
Installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
Purchased and installed Registry Patrol (but have not run it yet)
Installed Identity Patrol (but have not run it yet)
Now today when I attempted to open Elements 4 - the opening page came up where you choose to create or edit, etc. I clicked on the edit icon and got the following message: "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable." There was no application error messsage associated with this message.
Then I attempted to open Elements 6. It seemed to open okay, but then when I clicked on File-Open to retrieve some images - nothing happened. I get no error message - just no response.
PLEASE help! I need these programs to do my work.
    Thanks in advance!
    Barb

You might have a look at it and then check on some of the things mentioned to resolve the issue.

  • Can't open photoshop cs5 after installing yosemite

I even tried installing Java as suggested but to no avail. I guess I'm going to have to wait for an update from Adobe unless this is some scheme to try to get me to upgrade.
    Thanks for your time,
    Bryan

CS5 predates Yosemite by what is it now, 5 years?  I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for CS5 to be updated since it's no longer supported.
