I can't open the store

I've had this occur before when I had installed the latest version of iTunes on my PC (Windows XP Professional) and for whatever reason that freezes access to the store.  I followed a tutorial of uninstalling iTunes, Apple Support, Bonjour and other related and then reinstalled an older version and that had worked.  Recently I had to overhaul the PC due to a virus and now when I reload iTunes it won't recognize my library as it was saved under a newer version.  And when I load the proper and usual version the Store won't open.
The 2nd issue is that the iPod won't sync with this PC now without erasing and starting over and I have yet been able to find access to my playlists out of the files.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

    Have you tried closing the iBooks app via the multitasking bar and seeing if you can open the store when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iBooks app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    There is nothing that anyone here on a user forum can do to help you.  If it is a local issue in Syria, then you need to take it up with your phone company or authorities there who have prevented you from using VPN.

    Okay... try this...
    Go to Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Apple ID and sign out of your account. Then sign back in with your Apple ID. Try downloading again.
    If that doesn't work, go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings. When done, turn your iPad off (hold the Sleep button down for several seconds. When the red slider appears, switch it off. Wait a few seconds and then press and hold the Sleep button for 1-2 seconds and let go). After the reboot you will need to reconnect your Wi-Fi, log back in to App Store, iBook Store, and iTunes. Try downloading content again.

  • Can not open Itunes store

    I can not open the store to purchase music. I have the updated I tunes and it still will not work. The firewall is disabled. I can not even get it to open my account. The loading bar starts out good and then just stops halfway. It does this for music search too.
    This is crazy. I have cash in the account to buy music and can't even get to it. I ran the diagnostics and it came up clean.

  • I try to update mt Itunes to 11.1.5 and it stops and i can not open itunes store without itunes crashing.

    I can not update ITunes to 11.1.5 becasue it stops when it's almost done. Then I can not open the store and Itunes crashes and it tells me to update and ITunes closes. I'm nt very happy.

    Errors occurred while installing the update. If the probalem persists choose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually.
    With that one, first try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

    Try downloading another app - any free app - that seems to reset something and the apps may start working again. Try that first. If that doesnt work, try these steps
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

    Don't be afraid to bump this topic. There's also an App Store forum where you might repost this question, but give some of these details in your post.  I'd rephrase the topic to something like "Can't use App Store to upgrade." (Instead of can't "open".) Then give the details.

    If you have already updated to Pages 5.2 on your Mac, you may be trying to open the file with a previous version of Pages. If this is the case, you have two versions of Pages on your Mac & are trying to open Pages 5 documents with Pages 4. Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there then right-click on the Dock icon & select Options > Keep in Dock.
    Installing new versions of iWork has never replaced existing versions. This is nothing new. The only thing new is that the '09 apps are moved to an iWork '09 folder if they were purchased from the Mac App Store. If they were installed from disk they should already be in a separate folder in Applications.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

    Hold both power on and home button together and ignore the red slider until you see the apple logo.  Then let go of both buttons and wait for the phone to reset itself.

    You might have two different things going on at once here.
    Starting with the registry settings message.
    I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

    I am having the exact same problem.  MacForums has been helping me, and I called Apple.  After trying everyone's suggestions, and Apple's, no success.
    My App Store app still says "incomplete or damaged."  There is even a circle with a line through it on the icon.  Apple said reinstall my Snow Leopard upgrade disc (not my original Leopard disc) and then run the Combo Update (like your suggestion).  Did not work.  I also updated the software from "Software Update".  Rebooted.
    I think this started after I replaced my hard drive with a SSD and moved the hard drive to where the DVD was.  I wonder if the person above who had the same problem also installed a SSD?
    Anyway, anymore ideas?  Even Apple is stumped.
    (In answer to the other post above, my Quicktime works fine.)

    Just did some more reading.  I was going by the icon in the dock.  When I checked in Finder, there it was, fixed and brand new!!  Thanks, anyway.
