I can't open up links in my mail in my new iphone 5s.  What can I do?

I can't open up links in my mail on my iPhone 5S.  What can I do?

Hi Tonya234,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are not able to open links from email messages on your iPhone, first force the mail application you're using to close with these steps:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
These steps come from this article:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
If the behavior continues, restart your iPhone next:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

All the best,
Jeremy

  • Can't open nor delete an app because it got stuck while downloading, what can I do?

Can't open nor delete an app because it got stuck while downloading, what can I do?

Restart the iPad. The downloading App will dissapear
If it was a purchased App, you'll probably have been charged for it, so it'll be worth trying to re-download.
Let me know if this helps...

  • I can't open any links in my mail.

I can't open any links or attachments in mail, but I do have internet access.  Did I turn something off by mistake?  This only started happening a couple do days ago.

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • Why does safari pick a minimized instance to open a link from e-mail in a new tab?

Often when I open an URL from an e-mail message (Mail.app) it unminimizes a minimized Safari window to open the link in a new tab, while there are unminimized Safari windows available. This gets very annoying; those windows weren't minimized for nothing, please fix.

Your description is so different from what was so obvious to me on my iMac I felt compelled to go back and investigate. What I'm finding is radically different behavior depending on whether there are one or more monitors and how you have them configured with respect to spaces. The behavior I originally described was with two monitors sharing a space and a single safari window open on both monitors.
When I moved both safari windows to the iMac monitor the behavior changed considerably. In this case a minmized safari window will open when the URL is already open in a minimized window. Or if both safari windows are minimized it will apparently open the one that was created first. This is still different than what you describe.
When each monitor has it's own space with a safari window it will use the safari window in the space where the link was clicked which sort of makes sense.
So it appears configuration has much to do with Safari behavior and it's got my head spinning at this point. Incidentally I'm on the latest version of Mavericks.

  • I have a IMac with 10.6 and can't sync my new iPhone 5, what can I do?

I have a IMac that iTunes does not support the iPhone 5 that I just bought for my wife. Is there another way to download music to her new IPhone 5 ?

    Hey Amotz!
There could be more than 1 reason why,
    1. Your Mac is not the latest Snow Leopard Edition
(Which can be downloaded as a software update here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 )
    2. Your iTunes is not the latest version
(Which can be downloaded here: https://www.apple.com/au/itunes/ )
When you sync, especially with your iPhone 5 you must have the latest software!
    Good luck :)!

  • Desktop accidentally flooded with jpegs with dates in 1970,1980 I can't open them and if I trash them there are warnings. What can I do?

I was moving some photos to desktop and accidentally started the computer flooding the desktop with jpegs. I turned the computer off to stop it continuing. These jpegs cannot be opened and if I try to trash them it says they are being used or that it may damage something. They cannot be opened and info on them says dates like 1970, many years before I had a comptuer.
Can anyone help? How can I safely get rid of theses 100s of jpegs cluttering my desktop? Why did it happene? How to stop it recurring?

There are several examples of this problem in the 'More like this' file >>>>>>>>>

    Hello there, nancymelchor.

  • MAC - Can't open a link/URL in a new tab inside a folder

I can't open a link/URL in a new tab inside a folder from a Mac. I am sure I can do that in PC. Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Does the URL go to a regular web page, or another kind of file (e.g., PDF, PowerPoint)?
If you right-click the link and choose Copy Link Location, then paste to the address bar and press Enter, does Firefox load the link as expected?

  • Can't open web links in emails via Safari 6.1.6

    Hello...
I'm working on a Macpro computer with OSX 10.7.5.
In Safari 6.1.6 I can't open ANY links that are in emails.  Links to other web sites, links to file via you send it, nothing.  I've disabled the block "pop ups" tab in preferences and still nothing.  I don't want to upgrade to the new OSX, as everything else on my computer is running fine.
Can someone tell me what to do to get this working again….

I encountered the same problem.  In my case, the culprit was a plug-in in the Internet Plug-Ins sub-folder of my User Account's Library folder.
Here's how I proceeded, based on a suggestion by Carolyn Samit here:
    <https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5117605?start=0&tstart=0>
    1. Open the Finder.
    2. In the Finder menu bar, click on the heading Go.  Scroll down to "Go to Folder," and then click the mouse button again.
    3. Copy the following phrase:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
and then paste that phrase into the field in the navigation window that appeared at the end of Step 2.
    3. Click Go.
    4.  If you find a plug-in named AdobePDFViewer.plugin, drag it to the Trash.
    5. Quit and then relaunch Safari.  Then try to load in Safari a PDF from a web site.  Then try saving it.  Once saved/downloaded, try opening the PDF.
When I followed this procedure, the corrupted-PDF problem went away, thanks to Ms. Samit's suggestion.

  • Kdemod updated, konqueror can't open a link. firefox keep crashing

upate to the new kdemod. Everything gets improved. But konqueror can't open a link, keep openning a dialog asking whether to save to the disk or open with firefox.
My firefox keep crashing too. Don't know why? I think nothing to do with kdemod

The key might be Windows 7, not Explorer or Firefox.
Go to Start menu and pick "Default Programs" Choose "Set Your Default Programs". Select "Firefox" from the list to the left Click on "Set this program as default"
Without exiting window, choose "Thunderbird" from same list at the left. Click "Set this program as default"
You can do this with as many programs as you like.
Then click "OK" button at bottom right of window.
I did not have to reboot. Hope this works for you!

What did you rent the film on, your iPad or your Mac ? If you rented it on your iPad then it should have downloaded into the Videos app on it (you should get a rentals tab in the app). If you rented it on your Mac then it should be in the Movies part of your Mac's iTunes library, you will have to connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and move it from your Mac to your iPad (I think that it should show on the iPad's Movies tab for moving)
