I can't open web based apps while on a call. ex; browser, app store, weather

I thought I could browse the web, look through apps in the app store, even look at the weather app that comes with the iPhone, whilst on a call. Usually, no can do. --I've closed out all apps (using ios4 on a 3gs), still no luck. Restarted phone, no luck. I'm one of those silly little idiot users when it comes to electronics...so, of course I love the simplicity of Apple products. I just hope this is an easy fix or there is an easy answer to this issue. Thanks.

It's usually if not always connected to our wifi. there was a time when this wasn't an issue, about 5 months ago or so. (before ios4, of course.) I just don't understand what the "sudden" problem was. Prior to the update, it started with Safari loading slowly, while on calls. Then, Safari wouldn't work at all while on a call AND NOT on a call. Hadn't been able to get it to work since. Then, I changed to another 3GS phone with ios4...it still does the same thing...we've recycled our modem, but could it still be something with our wifi connection? Though, I wouldn't understand the total crash with Safari on the previous phone...now it just won't load during a call, will load off calls. -Same with all other web accessing apps.

  • Can't open Preview/Calendar/App store/iBooks/Terminal/Mail after updated to Mavericks

After I updated to Mavericks, I can not open Preview, Dictionary, App Store, iBooks, Keynotes, Photobooth, Quicktime, Contact, Calender, etc...
Mail keeps crashing everything I opened it.
iTunes and Safari is still working. Can someone tell me what's happening and how to solve my problem? Thanks a lot!
BTW, I remeber this symptom happened after I used Cleanmymac.

Evi, I have the same problem. When I first updated to Mavericks, everything is OK, but I use Cleanmymac too, It is may be because of Cleanmymac, it cleaned about 1G files.
Now I can not open App Store, how can I download and reinstall Mavericks?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • I can't open the application App Store on my iMac. How can I fix this?

Here is the error message I keep getting.
You can't open the application App Store because it may be damaged or incomplete.

    Simone ...
You can reinstall the App Store by downloading and installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed, then try the App Store.

my app store will not open. when i try to open it i get an error that reads "You can't open the application App Store because it may be damaged or incomplete". How can I fix this?

I am having the exact same problem.  MacForums has been helping me, and I called Apple.  After trying everyone's suggestions, and Apple's, no success.
My App Store app still says "incomplete or damaged."  There is even a circle with a line through it on the icon.  Apple said reinstall my Snow Leopard upgrade disc (not my original Leopard disc) and then run the Combo Update (like your suggestion).  Did not work.  I also updated the software from "Software Update".  Rebooted.
I think this started after I replaced my hard drive with a SSD and moved the hard drive to where the DVD was.  I wonder if the person above who had the same problem also installed a SSD?
Anyway, anymore ideas?  Even Apple is stumped.
(In answer to the other post above, my Quicktime works fine.)

Just did some more reading.  I was going by the icon in the dock.  When I checked in Finder, there it was, fixed and brand new!!  Thanks, anyway.

  • "You can't open the application App Store because it might be damaged or incomplete." Help?

I'm not exactly sure what happened but for some reason my App Store won't open anymore. Every time I try the message "You can't open the application App Store because it might be damaged or broken" pops up. And for some reason iPhoto is completely missing from my Macbook today as well. How do I get these two back and in working condition again??

I'm going by your profile v10.6.8
Installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8
If necessary, you can re download iPhoto.

  • TS3230 I can't open web based PDF files - the page is just a black one - anyone?

Can anyone help me?  I can't open PDF attachments - online the page opos up as blank and black, and with emails on gmail - the document just wont open.  I have tried to reload my adobe reader to no avail.

    Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Can't open iTunes or App Store on my ipad2

iTunes when finally opens it shows only pics and txts, as if I lost the configuration some how... The same happens if I open facebook using safari...
My app store won't even open...
    Please help me!!!
I'm totally new to apple products.
Right now I'm trying to download the new version of the iTunes on my pc and hoping that syncing will do it... I don't know...
    HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!

It's hard to know what you're seeing, so please take a screen shot of what you see when you open iTunes.  To take a screen shot, with the page you are referring to, touch the home and power button at the same time for a moment and you'll hear a shutter sound like a camera.  The screen shot will be stored in your Photos Album, which you can either sync back to your computer, or email to your computer, so you can use the camera icon in your post to attach it.  You should know that iTunes on your iPad, will not look like iTunes on your computer.  On iPad, it is a store, plain and simple.  You can't access your iTunes libraries (music, videos, books, etc).  You can just purchase from the app.
You said your App Store won't open on your iPad.  Are you connected to the internet when trying to open it?  It does require intenet connection.
For Facebook, using it in Safari is not a good solution.  Go to the App Store and download either the Facebook app directly or one of the 3rd party facebook apps available.  The actual app is not optimized to fill the entire screen, but Facebook has announced they will have an iPad version out any day now.
I'm sure we can help you here.  Take a deep breath and know there are a lot of us users here who enjoy helping people out.

  • HT2534 Can't open a Mac App Store account without credit card (which I don't have), what to do?

I tried opening a new account in the App Store since I got this new 5s and apparently can't open an account without credit card
What to do? Need help immediately

You'll need to open an account in the iTunes Store via the instructions in the article from which you came, getting a free iOS app. You then should be able to get free apps from the Mac App Store. Note that the instructions apply only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID without providing a payment method.
