!!!!!I CAN'T OVERCLOCK MY CPU. BIOS DOESN'T RECOGNIZE MY AMD ATHLON XP-MOBILE

My configuration is this:
Mainboard: MSI K7N2-DELTA2-FSR
CPU: AMD Athlon XP-Mobile 2500+ 1855MHZ
Video Card: CAPTIVA Nvidia 6600GT 128MB 128bit
Hard disk: Internal Maxtor DiamonMax 10 300GB S-ATA 16MB Buffer
Audio Card: Sound Blaster Audigy Live 5.1 24bit
Power Supply: 400WATT
DVD drive: LG 16X
SO I OVERCLOCK MY CPU UNTIL 3200+ (2200mhz), AND IF I WANT TO OVERCLOCK MORE DURING "POST", BIOS DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE NEW VALUE (ES: FSB 200  / X11.5  = 2300mhz . DOESN'T RECOGNIZE).
PLEASE HELP ME OR CAN YOU TELL ME HOW CAN I RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM???
THANKS A LOT. BYE

Please furnish us some more info concerning the memory you are using and power output of the 3.3v - 5v -12v rails of your power supply along with the name of its manufacturer.
Some mobile cpus start up with a lower multiplier and then go to the bios to use the preset settings in the bios.  If the cpu can't start with the bios settings, it remains at its start up values.  Your mobile may not be able to run at a multiplier of 11.5 with a 200fsb.  Drop its fsb back to 166 (stock fsb 133) and see if you can run it at its rated multiplier of 14.  That will equal 2324mhz.
Overclocking is finding a balance between the fsb and the multiplier that allows you to get the most stable speed out of the cpu.
You also have not mentioned what vcore voltage that you are using or the temps.
The memory that I'm using are : V-Data 512x2 MB DDR CL 2,5
The power supply is 400watt chassis, 3,3V, 12V, 5V.
I tell you that with the mainboard ASUS I did't have this problem with the multiplier because I put 11.5 x 200Fsb.
Thanks of all.MSI DriversMSI Drivers

  • BIOS doesn't recognize HD

We have different of this PC's in our factory.
Before, my colleague did all the fixes if there were problems. Now he has left the company...
So my problem: this pc has a faulty harddisk. I have some spare parts, also this harddrive.
    Harddrive = Western Digital WD800JD
This spare part has already the whole system on it (sysprep).
But..if I mount this harddisk in the pc: bios doesn't recognize it ???
I have a offline USB/SATA-convertor, and if I put this new HD on it, and connect to my LaptopK, I have a folder on my PC with al the data on the harddisk: so hard-disk is ok.
    What can I do?

By any chance could this hard drive have been connected to a system where Build 9879 of Windows 10 Technical preview was installed? When Build 9879 was first released, on some systems Power Up in Standby (PUIS) was enabled on some hard disks, preventing them from being seen by some systems where the spin-up command was not passed to the disk. In this scenario, the USB device could be issuing the necessary spin up command. See this Microsoft Community thread for the official details.

  • [VIA] MSI KT6V BIOS doesn't recognize my Maxtor 160GB SATA HD

I bought new Maxtor DiamondMax 160GB SATA 7200RPM harddisk (6L160M0). For being able to install Windows on the new harddisk, I used the SATA RAID driver (VT6420/VT8237) floppy, that came with the motherboard and everything went fine. Now I have installed Windows but BIOS doesn't recognize the new harddisk at all. When I check the properties of the harddisk in Windows the size is correct (~160GB).
System is working fine, but I don't dare to split the partition, before I'm positive it won't cause any problems.
Should I flash BIOS, install new sata drivers or nothing?
Motherboard MSI KT6V VIA KT600 chipset

I understand what you mean, kalasilma, but a SATA drive is not recognized by the BIOS in the same way as a PATA drive. In fact, you aren´t going to see any drive information in the BIOS at all. The situation is the same in Win XP. You can see the HD in My Computer, but despite that, you can´t get information about the HD in device manager as you would with a PATA drive. The SATA interface is much more like a software type of interface than the much older PATA interface. It´s a little bit like the old days, when you had to manually configure a HD even in BIOS in order to have it properly recognized. With that in mind, the situation is much more satisfying, as the HD is visible and the size is correctly recognized at least in Windows
In a near future the situation is most likely going to be much better when it comes to BIOS recognizing SATA drives, but with these "beta" testing motherboards of ours, the only thing we can do is to be satisfied with our drives beeing recognized by Windows, using software drivers loaded at bootup. In fact your system wouldn´t be booting at all if the drive wasn´t recognized, since the drivers are loaded from the same HD. I think you can feel completly safe with the situation, since I have seen PATA drives beeing incorrectly recognized by Windows at installation. I had one 200GB HD that appeared as only 130GB no matter what I would do. I finaly partitined it and formatted the boot partition and installed Win. I used Partition Magic to locate and format the "lost" partiton under Windows. I think you are ready to go...

  • Help! Can't overclock via CPU Ratio (multiplier) with K7T266 Pro (MS-6380)?

I have a Athlon 1.2 GHz (266 MHz FSB) that I'm trying to overclock via the clock multiplier on my K7T266 Pro (MS-6380) mobo.
Right now the CPU ratio is set to Auto in the Hardware Monitor in the BIOS, but I know that it's using a clock multiplier of 9 (9 x 133 Mhz = 1197 Mhz, which is about 1.2 Ghz)
The only way that I can overclock this CPU is by increasing the FSB above 133 MHz.  That works, but I'd like to avoid that as the USB no longer works when the FSB is past 138 MHz (i.e. I can't OC higher than 1242 MHz through the FSB)
If I set the clock multiplier above 9 (ex: 9.5, 10, etc.) nothing happens.  I reboot and my CPU is still at 1.2 GHz.  Its as if I can't OC by increasing the CPU ratio.  I'd like to set it to 10 and run at 1.33 GHz but I can't.  Why is that?
If I lower my CPU ratio below 9, then the computer freezes up totally at bootup and I have to clear the CMOS to get it working again.
    THANKS!

    Hi,
You need to unloack the CPU, search google for closing L1 Bridges, then you can set it to anything you want

  • Can't send email - iPhone 3G doesn't recognize sender email address

I have had problems with this from day one (July 11).
The problem comes and goes, but now it seems to be staying.
When I try to send email, an error message pops up:
"Cannot Send Mail - the sender address was invalid"
I've rebooted several times, installed 2.0.2, but nothing helps!

    jmf3001,
This is actually a message from your outgoing mail server, not the iPhone.
The address can be invalid for a couple of reasons.
First, your outgoing mail server requires authentication. If you are using a mail server for a network you are not connected to this is the most common reason if they support relaying off their network. What this means is when you are at home using your cable, dial-up or DSL connection, the network you are connected to knows who you are and doesn't require a username or password.
Second, this can happen if they don't support relaying off their network. Spammers will look for mail servers to relay messages through. Some networks take security one step further than authentication, and will not accept email from off their network.
Third, it could be because you made a typo entering your email address when setting up the account.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • I installed the upgrade and now itunes can't find my library and doesn't recognize my devices. Using Windows 7. Any help?

Help!!! I installed the 10.5 update and now itunes can't find my library or recognize my devices. Running on Windows 7.

For moving your iTunes library, I recommend this method...
Assuming you use the iTunes default settings where iTunes copied added items to your iTunes folder and organizes your library (meaning - everything is all self contained in the iTunes folder), then all you have to do is drag & drop your iTunes folder (not just the iTunes Music folder you find inside the iTunes folder) to the external drive and copy the entire thing.
If you want to test that it worked or would like to actually start using it from that location instead, use these instructions when you start iTunes to point it to the new location...
How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304447
If you are just testing, then close iTunes after you verify it works, and restart iTunes again with the same instructions and point it back to your internal drive (original) location.
Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Can't install update CS6, it doesn't recognize the serial number of CS5 that is installed

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Can you explain more regarding what the problem is?  CS6 is not an update to CS5, it is a new version.  A CS5 serial number will not work for CS6 unless you are installing CS6 as an upgrade and are using CS5 as the qualifying version.  If CS5 is installed then its serial number should not be required for installing CS6 as an upgrade.

  • TS1538 My Classic Ipod (U2) edition is not recognized in the device list.  An error msg instructs me to restore factory setting on my device.  How can I do this if Ituns doesn't recognize it?

I've actually tried on both windows and Mac.  Itunes just freezes on both, and the devices is not listed in the device list.  I would restore the factory settings but, I can't get into itunes to do this.

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

  • I can't download Firefox because it doesn't recognize me as either the Adminsitrator or Current User.

There are 2 options to choose from: Current User (with my name on it) and Administrator. I am both the current user and the Administrator. When I choose the Current user option, nothing happens. When I choose the Administrator option and include my Administrator password, nothing happens. Firefox never used to be this difficult to download before. What happened? I've been trying to do this for more than 3 hours now! :(

Hello, if the above the-edmeister's reply does not help, then try to boot the computer in [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows Safe Mode with network support] (press F8 on the boot screen) and then see if that allows to install Firefox from the the-edmeister's above link.

just wondering how can i overclock my CPU w/ this rig coz i cant see any threads regarding this mobo, also i cant open up the BIOS of my system i have a windows 7 64 bit ultimate. hoping for some good advise.

Recommend to do all the bench tests at the original auto/stock/default settings, then you have something to compare later results with. In Reply #10, I have given some basic pointers at which to start. Soon as CPU V. is taken out of auto, you will lose any power saving advantages at low use & idle. Another quick & dirty way to do it is to set the CPU V. at the industry recommended maximum of 1.400v's, & start to increase the CPU Ratio up one step at a time until it fails to boot the OS. Keep in mind, load overshoot will usually spike the VCore past the 1.400v's at times in varying amounts. For gaming, OC'ing RAM is a wasted effort. After extensive testing, it made almost zero change in gaming performance on it's own.

    There is a lot of information in this thread that may be of use. This is basically one of the alternative ways to OC;

  • PSE 10 doesn't recognize raw file

Have been using PSE 10 on a four year old Macbook pro with no problems.  Opens RAW file with no problem.  Just installed the same PSE 10 on a new iMac, and PSE 10 editor says it can't open file because it doesn't recognize the file.  Any suggestions?

The canon 5d mkIII requires the 6.7 camera raw plugin and pse 10 does support the camera 6.7 plugin.
When you went to Help>Updates from within the pse 10 editor, was there an updated version of camera raw listed for installing?

  • HP Probook 4710s can't overclock. (Can't acess BIOS settings)

    Hello! I have a Probook 4710s with WIndows 7 64-bit.
I tried to overclock it, but its seems I can't acess that ''configuration'' page.. I just get to press the F10 key to acess the startup menu, and then BIOS configuration, where I can just toggle some actions etc.. no overclocking there..
    Is it even overclockable?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Business notebooks are not made to be overclockable. That is outside of the design parameters.
There are unofficial  utilities that will let you bypass firmware and overclock the CPU, but they will also allow you to destroy your CPU.  Overclocking the memory primary\secondary timings and systemboard buses and voltages are also not feasible with official BIOS ROM files.

  • I Can Only Overclock With Bios 1.3: How About You?

    Hi,
MSI sent me a new board, the 865PE Neo2-FIS2R. I had two that flashing the bios destroyed the boards. The first I could always get back: the second, I could not. This board is everything the first 2 should have been.
The board came with bios version 1.5. Everything worked fine except that the board wouldn't allow me to overclock at a 5/4 divider. I, in turn, flashed to 1.7, 1.7B1, and back to 1.3. Bios version 1.3 is the only bios I can successfully overclock using a memory divider other than 1/1. I can overclock at 1/1 to 225 or so with 1.7, but only at 1/1.
I did notice that the memory issues seem to be gone. Only with 1.3 do I have to take out the Corsair Ram and put in the Samsung PC2700 to get it to boot. This is a minor inconvenience. Also, Insert Key will reset the CPU to default settings. Cool.
Anyway, are any of you able to use a memory divider other than 1/1 with later bios'?
    Mark

Memory speed is clocked off the same clock the FSB is clocked. When you set memory clock speed you are setting the 'nominal' speed when the FSB is at 200.
Taking into account dual channel and quad pumping you get 1:1 ratio with FSB 200 and Memory 400. Increase FSB to 250, memory actually runs at 500.
Setting the memory to 333 actually runs it at 320 on a 200 FSB (hence 5:4 ratio). So with FSB at 250 the memory clocks at 400.

  • Overclock DRAM but can't overclock CPU Bus?

    Perhaps you can help,
I've been lurking here for a few weeks and have used your sage advice to boost my 1.8 Ghz P4 to 2.25 by adjusting the DRAM freq from Auto to 333.  I'd like to get a bit more speed out of it but the CPU bus gets greyed out when the DRAM Freq is anything other than Auto.  I tried 400 on the Dram but no post (Oh, so that's where the jbat1 jumper is... )  Would a bios upgrade enable the DRAM overclock WITH the CPU overclock or am I hardware constrained?
    Thanks

Yes; your CPU, Can be moved to a higher clock speed, but be careful, as You did Mention that you Increased your FSB (Front Side Bus) Speed, or CPU Speed From 100 MHZ to 125 MHZ, Which tells Me that your P-4 CPU is of the Older "Willamette" Core, which are not known to be as good Overclockers as the Newer "Northwood" Core P-4's......So You have problably only a little more room as far as overclocking goes, And Make sure that you keep your eye on the CPU temperature, as you do NOT want it getting into the +60C Range for long periods...So as babyfaceuk has stated, you are indeed Overcloking Both the CPU and The Memory Bus when you Increase the CPU (Or as Most call it the FSB) speed, and dont forget that you have in the sense of the word, Underclocked your DRAM, by Changing (Lowering) the Ratio to 333 MHZ, or 5:4, when the Memory is Rated to run at 400 MHZ speeds, so you have to look Benchmark wise, Are you getting Better Scores by underclocking your Memory in order to overclock your CPU, or would you get better Scores by leaving your Memory set to 400 MHZ, or a 1:1 Ratio, and only Bring your FSB, or CPU speed to 108 MHZ or 110 MHZ? ....These are things that you have to try, As I think that you would be suprised at how High you can Get your Benchmark Scores, or overall Performance to Increase with a happy medium between both CPU and Memory, and on top of it all, Your system will run Better overall at a 1:1(400 MHZ Memory) Syncronous Ratio .....But thats Just My Opinion..........Sean REILLY875
