I can't partition with burned Windows 7 iso

Hi all,
I am lost: I bought Windows 7 online. Downloaded it and burned the iso file to a DVD. Then I went to the Boot Camp Assistant and downloaded the Windows support stuff. Took ages and worked after 3 trials. Then I selected the size (50GB), inserted the DVD and clicked install. But the DVD is not recognized. It tells me "The installer disc could not be found. Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized." So I burned another disk thinking that burning error. Nope. So saved on USB stick and downloaded rEFIt (as this seems to be a good solution too). Well that worked, I could boot with Windows via the USB stick and install until... I needed to select the partition.... BUT, if I cannot partition without a DVD and I cannot boot via USB because I have no partition.... then what should I do?? Can I partition without installing Windows? I tried Disk Utility, but to no avail. Sigh. I am tired, this takes for ages, I can't figure it out and I paid EUR200 for this darned Windows download. Can anyone help me out?

Hi YMcD,
When I try to partition via the Disk Utility, I get this message:
"Partition failed with the error: Couldn’t modify partition map because file system verification failed."
And I get this error whether I do it in FAT or MAC OS.

Where can i get a FRESH Windows 8 iso? (LEGALLY)

Hey guys,
I wanted to know where you can get a Windows 8 iso, NOT a upgrade iso.
I already did some googleing, and http://www.redmondpie.com/download-windows-8-iso-x86-x64-file-directly-from-micr osoft/ this website seemed to tell me you can get it by downloading a file from Microsoft and just entering a product Key.
However, for this i think you actually need a Windows 7 , because it is an UPGRADE iso, not a fresh system-builder iso.
So i was wondering, where can you get a fresh Windows 8 iso to install on my MacBook, which doesn't have Windows 7?
Or can you use the iso described in remondpie and use it to install Windows 8?

PS According to many people, the new MAcBook Air (2013) which i have does not work really well when you install windows with a CD. That's why i'm trying to use a USB and iso to download it.

iso is just a 100% bit by bit image of an optical disc
there are millions of free programs which will make an iso file out of an optical disc in a few minuts

Couldn't create a new partition with a windows 7 installation

I have a b570 laptop. It was originally windows 7 home premium and I wanted to install windows 7 ultimate from scratch (didn't want to upgrade it) with new partitions, so I have deleted the original system partition and tried to create a new partition but to my surprise I couldn't create a new one. I tried to use the onekey recovery but it keeps asking me for the original partition, which I don't have. Please help me if you know how I could solve this problem. Thank you in advance.

With the windows 7 installation disk...I select the unallocated space shown on the screen -> click on the new button on the bottom -> set the size of the new partition to be created -> and click create.

Help, I cannot connect to the internet via airport with either my Imac or I-Pad. Connecting via ethernet works okay for Imac. I can connect wirelesssly with my windows laptop. I have reset my router, created a new network. It was all okay on Monday

Normally I have my IMac, I-Pad and Windows Laptop all working on my home network via wi-fi. This week I find that I cannot access the inetrnet on my IMac or I-pad via wi-fi but I can connect to the internet via wi-fi with my windows based laptop.
The airport diagnostics (reds/yellows) indcate that I am connected
I can access the internet if I plug my IMac into the router via an ethernet cable
I have restarted the IMac and the I-Pad, rebooted the router and created a new network. None of these changes has made a difference. Does anyone have any ideas please?

New Partition With Parallels Windows

I made new partition on my macbook pro, when I open parallels to use windows I can see only the main drive of macbook pro but I can not see the new partition, I would like to know, how can I make the parallels windows see the new partition ?

How do you install Windows 7 on Macbook Air with a Windows 7 ISO image?

Macbook Airs have no optical drives, and I can't buy one. I do, however, have the Windows 7 ISO image. And I also have access to a Windows 7 PC. I found an article on CNET on installing from a Flash Drive, but that requires the CD. I also have a hard drive (120GB) and Flash USB (4GB), if they could help. Please help me as many programs I am familiar with are only windows-based. I am tried using open-source software like Wineskin Winery and WineBottler, but to no avail, I always end up confused with them.Please help me.

As for learning mac apps only, well, Windows apps dominate the market with most of applications being made for windows, especially games, with 90% market. So for some apps, there just isn't a mac version available, or if there is, it's costly. (Which you already know I can't buy things)
You probably cannot afford to buy Crossover either. It is designed for user friendliness though, but of course Wine cannot run everything.
Yes you have to learn some things to use Wineskin. Normally on Gecko and Mono prompt, just cancel them. Gecko is needed if you have a program using mshtml (its basically a replacement for Internet Explorer for programs that use parts of it). Mono is a replacement for .NET if your program requires that. You do not want to install them if you don't need them as they will just waste space. You can always refresh the wrapper later on and get the same prompts if you find out you need them later.
You can copy the full installed version of a game inside the Wineskin wrapper and try to set it up that way, but its usually easier to just run the installer and install it inside the wrapper just like you'd install it in Windows.
An Engine is something you download... its basically a specific Wine build made for a Wineskin wrapper.
If you do not want to learn Wineskin enough to get in and port your programs yourself, you can often find other people who have done so (at least with games).
Check out sites like PaulTheTall.com who has tons of Wineskin wrappers already made and ready to go for many games... you just download the wrapper, install the game you want in it using the normal Installer, then its ready to go. Many you'll need to manually update yourself to Wineskin 2.5.8 though since all the older versions broke ok the OS X 10.8.2 and 10.7.5 update, and Paul hasn't gotten to all of them yet since he has hundreds (including AoE 2 i think).
There is also Portingteam.com which has tons of pre-made wrappers for games (Including Cider hacks from official games).
If your talking about non-Game apps though, you can normally find an alternative... many of which are free.

How can I print with a Windows computer through the AirPort?

Basically, I'm a college student in a dorm room with a wireless HP printer. I have a MacBook Pro 15-inch with Snow Leopard and my roommate has an Asus Eee PC with Windows XP. I use an Apple AirPort Express router and print through it with my computer wirelessly. Is there any way my roommate can print wirelessly from his computer? So far, I haven't figured out how to set it up and he just uses my computer whenever he needs to print something.

Since the printer has its own wireless built-in, as opposed to it connecting via USB to the Airport Express, then there shouldn't be an issue for the Asus to connect to the printer, providing it can connect to the Express also via wireless.
Unless someone here knows otherwise, I suggest you check the HP web site in case there is an additional utility required for XP to add a network wireless printer.
Usually, a network printer is added by selecting Local Printer, rather than Network as this is looking for server shared printers, and then you create a New Port and select Standard TCP/IP for the port type.

Can't Sync with ITunes (Windows 7)

So I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7.
I installed the latest Itunes and everything seemed fine.
However, when I tried to sync my Iphone, it literally syncs for less than 10 seconds (no sync).
Is there a reason for this?
Is there a patch?
I have tried to reinstall Itunes several times now, but nothing.
My iphone is recognized, but can't seem to sync.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Can't partition with disk utility. Options greyed out

Hi,
Bought a used 4 TB Seagate drive, formatted it , checked the speed 150 MB/s read/write and made a partition. Apparently it worked perfect.
However after this first partition the drive is behaving erratically. I can not modify partitions anymore nor delete them. Repair disk is not finding any problem either from the system or from the recovery partition.
I am starting to believe the disk is damaged. Beside the partition problem the disk is behaving fine. Anyone please?

Thanks. I already did. The disk whose partitions I can not modify is blank. It is the 3rd disk in the Mac pro. I formatted and created 2 partitions. But then I can not create more partitions nor delete them. I tried from the Recovery volume with the same result. Partition options remain greyed out.
Beside that, if you look at the pictures, CCC 4TB and CCC 4TB2 are the same physical drive but seem to be different in disk utility. Is this disk damaged?

Extending windows partition (with EOM Windows)

Okay, so we just used Bootcamp and installed Windows 8 on a new mac. I wasn't watching as my girlfriend Mary went through Bootcamp setup, and wanted to let her do it on her own and just help if needed...so it is now set to only 20 GB. We haven't even installed a single program on the Windows partition, just tried to put on the Windows support software that's part of Bootcamp, and it already ran out of space. I used disk utility on Mac OSX to reduce the size of the mac partition, but windows doesn't seem capable of expanding to fill the empty space.
I've been looking up info on how to resize it, and the standard suggestion is to use WinClone to clone the windows side, re-partition, and restore from clone. I'm comfortable enough with computers to do this, I think, but I'm concerned with how the EOM ("system builder") version of Windows 8 will respond to it. Will it think I'm trying to install on a new computer, and not let me activate? Will I even have to activate, or will it hold on to the activation from before the cloning?
It would also be relatively simple to uninstall the whole thing and reinstall, since there's absolutely NOTHING on the windows side yet except the operating system...but again I'm worried that my EOM license will complain, as it might think I'm trying to put it on a new computer (which is expressly not allowed with this version -- it's supposed to go on one computer and stay there.)
I've also seen suggestions of programs to use for resizing partitions. GParted sounded promising, but it hasn't been working for me. I load it, and by the time it asks me what keymap to use it stops responding to the keyboard or mouse. I could try troubleshooting it further, but it has been frustrating so far. That was the only free program I saw. There are a few other listed options for $20-50, which I'll pay if I absolutely need to, but this really doesn't seem like it should be so complicated. There's a bunch of empty space not assigned to any partition, and I want an existing partition to fill it.
If it matters, this is on a MacBook Pro, the version they're still selling but without the Retina display, and we're on the newest version of Mac OSX. 13 inches, baseline except for doubling the RAM. The computer was purchased less than a week ago.

I tried to burn windows 7 Iso using disk utility for more than 3 time with the minimum speed, but all the three times I got error saying "disk burn failed unable to verify"?

I have tried with three different blank DVDs but all got the same error message. But after I got the error message when I reinsert the DVD I can see the ISO in the DVD. So I went a head with the installation but the installation stops just after it starts. I have even tried burning the disk at 2X speed.

It sounds like your optical drive may be dirty. The lens probably needs a cleaning. You can go to somewhere like Best Buy and pick up a cleaning kit.

i was hard to install with windows 7 again after i install with windows xp to my laptops, and then i have problems with install another windows version. its hard to believe that all operating system installation for my b450 is stop before sucessfuly install to my laptops.

Further checks reveal that my wife's Win 8.1 laptop and my Surface RT tablet are both unable to access the Samba share either... but are able to map the share to a network drive showing the free disk space.
Seems like a Windows 8.1 issue to me now... M$ where are you!!!

Bootcamp trouble with burning windows 7 to cd

And i bought 10 CDs, and it always does this with all of them. I boguth them 2 days ago, and they are Verbatim brand.
Does this mean i have to buy actual windows 7 disc?
