I can't personalize Firefox. Is it possible to "CLEAN" reinstall from scratch without saving old profile?

Other than the Firefox Logo and a few other items, my screen is completely white (except for black text). I've tried everything to change the theme/persona, etc. but with no luck. My profile folder shows no bookmarks any earlier than 1/2/2012. And when I RUN: firefox.exe -p from the start menu, it tells me that it can't be found.
I'm thinking that it might be best to just uninstall the who;e thing and start with a "fresh" install including a new profile. Is this possible? And more importantly, a good idea?

Hi Damien,
I'm sorry that you've been having trouble syncing fonts to your computer. If you would like to email us at [email protected], we see what the problem is. Please include your Creative Cloud log files; I'll put the directions at the end of this post.
If you would prefer to purchase the font and install the files locally, most foundries sell a desktop license that allows you to do so.

On OS X:
* Open the Finder
* under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
* in the window that opens, type: /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Remember to replace "(username)" with your own account name.
(Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal, cd to $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/)
On Windows:
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\
Attach the recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me with this frustrating problem.
I did a clean reinstall from scratch to move to vista 32 bit from vista 64. None of my goodies (mp3 player, phone.. all sadly antiquated) played on the 64 version. That's why I nuked it.
The reinstall worked like a charm, except now I can't get anything from the external jacks, which worked fine before the reinstall. I've used every aspect of the device manager, and checked for downloads on each. When I go to sound devices, it lists the soundcard as "high definition audio device," and says that the software has been updated.
The internal speakers are the delightful Altec Lansings.. and they work fine. In fact, when I plug something into the headphone jacks, they continue working.
Therefore, I'm trying to find the name of the sound card installed on my build, and then find the driver for it.
Here's all the specs from the back if you need them:

I'm a music lover, and I love this computer, and I'll be sooooo happy if I can get this fixed. I'm facing music withdrawals, and getting weaker by the day.
Could anyone please offer me advice?

How can I get Firefox to directly open a file (like a torrent) without saving it at all

It seems that up until about 3 months ago - I could get firefox to download a file and open it directly without saving it to any particular place. This is particulary useful for downloading say a torrent or, for that matter, any other file I wish to use within another program but do not need to save the file.
Now I have to download the file, chose where it will be saved, open the folder click on the file, and then delete the now un-needed file. A huge hassle.
I am sure I could do this until a few months ago. For some reason I cannot now.
Please help

Make sure that the file has the .html file extension.
That should be sufficient.
Windows hides some file extensions by default.
Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension.
You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.

I am sure this is an easy question because it seems that others before me have probably been in this situation. I wish to delete my calendars (and todo lists, etc) in iCal. In essence I want to start over from scratch as if I had not yet used iCal.
Do you have any advice on how I can go about doing so?

Select the calendar(s) you want to delete in the Calendars list on the left side of the iCal window. Then hit the delete key or select Delete from the Edit menu.

Can my iWeb site be downloaded to my new HD from Mobile Me? Old HD died...

My Macbook Pro died unexpectedly. I had not saved my iWeb site on an external. Is there any way the design and content can be downloaded to my new MacBook from Mobile Me? Please tell me I am not destined to recreate the entire site....

Only iWeb's Domain file can be opened in iWeb. See this Apple doc on How to back up MobileMe data. It says:
Any websites you have published with iWeb should still be available within iWeb. iWeb stores everything in a Domain file, normally located in the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (although it can be moved). If you no longer have this file, you can view your currently published pages and manually recreate them within iWeb, but there is no way to import published pages back into iWeb.
You can manually back up the Domain file, or use Backup to back it up.
Paragraph 2.3 of this FAQ page gives some tips on how to use published files, graphics, photos, etc., to help rebuild the site from scratch:

How can I stop Firefox clicking when I select an option from a drop-down menu? It's bloody annoying.

When I select an option from the pull-down menus, or a link from right-clicking on the forward or back buttons, it makes a click sound. I'm using this on a machine that I use for recording and I don't want clicks on my soundtrack. How can I turn it off - I've looked through about:config and preferences but haven't seen any way to select or disable such a feature.
I'm using FF 8.0 on Ubuntu Studio.

It could be a Ubuntu Studio sound preference. You may have to turn off mouse click sound effects in the system.

Upon completion of module, is it possible to start over from scratch

I will do my best to explain what I am attempting to do with my Captivate 5.5 created game.
There are four options which the learner will be able to choose from. As soon as one learner is done the next learner will step up to the game and begin. It is possible for learner number 2 to pick the same challenge in the game as learner number 1.
Right now, learner number 1 can pick any one of the four options however, when learner 2 picks the same game that learner 1 chose (without closing and reopening the file) learner number 2 is unable to do anything in that game. Additionally, once all 4 options have been attempted in a single session then the next learner is unable to do anything in any of the 4 options.
My questions:
Is is possible to refresh the game each time a learner goes through an option? (I do have the Loop Project option selected)
This game is going to be played by potentially 500 people in a 2 day span and we do not want to have to close and reopen the game each time a learner has gone through it.

Thanks! Below I tried to answer your questions:
1. Game consists of interactive widgets (timer widget set at 30 seconds and to count down, basically for show), advanced actions, objects which are being dragged into target areas (Interactive widget), no animations, many variables to guide the user through the various scenarios.
2. Let's say that learner 1 randomly selects option number 2 from the main game screen (no TOC just 4 arrows on a screen which point in 4 different directions and based on which one the learner clicks on they get a different 1 time game). When learner number 1 is done the game goes back to the main screen with the arrows on it (Advanced actions and variables are all reset so they see the same screen which learner 1 saw) however, if learner 2 chooses option number 2 (same as learner 1) they are unable to click or move anything on that slide and the timer widget is at 0:00 (like that game has been completed. Additionally, if 4 learners play the game and each of them chooses a different option (1,2,3, and 4) when learner 5 comes and they choose an option, they are unable to move or click anything and the timer widget is diplaying 0:00.
3. I think that I have answered this however, here is another try at it. Slide 1 picture slide, no actions, slide 2 instructions slide with image and text boxes, slide 3 has a soccer ball in the middle with 4 arrows each pointing to one of the corners of the slide. Click boxes have variables attached to them which will take the user to the game for that arrows word match slide. Each word match slide (4 in total have 8 words with 2 possible matching options. 8 words are soccer balls and the 2 possible matching options are soccer goals. Drag and drop interactive widget). 1 scoreboard slide which shows the score from the slide chosen and the time spent on that slide. 4 Answer slides corresponding to each of the games which are accessed after the scoreboard slide based on a variable from slide 3. These slides show the correct answer and have a click button on them to return to slide 1 and reset all game variables back to 0.

Firefox won't work after I have installed the latest update. I have reinstalled from scratch and it still won't work. There is no AVG plugin.

I installed the latest update and now am unable to reach any website. I have reinstalled twice. I still have bookmarks, etc. via sync, but when I enter a URL nothing happens. There is no AVG plugin. My internet connection is fine -- I am using it to send this message via internet explorer.

Did you try browsing Firefox in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode] ?
Please, disable all addons and try then browsing the Web...
What is the current version of your OS and Firefox?
Do you use any other anti-viruses?

Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

How can I get firefox to remember my password?

I removed my user name and password under stored passwords because the password was changed. How can I get it to store the user name and password again because the pop up for it never shows up?

If the name stays the same and you only need to change (update) the stored password then fill the name in the login form and let Firefox fill the wrong password. 
You may have to press the Tab key to fill the password field. 
If you replace the wrong password with the new password then Firefox should offer to store the new password. 
Use the Remember Password bookmarklet on websites that use "autocomplete=off" to prevent Firefox from saving passwords. 
You can verify that Firefox has stored the new password: Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords" 
If that didn't work then remove that name and password in the Password Manager and Firefox should offer to save the new password on the next visit or after reloading the login page. 
If you have problems to remember a new password then make sure that you remove all entries from that server (look for an empty name as well) and also check the exceptions to make sure that the site is not listed there.

What more can I say - Firefox 4.0.1 is preventing me from doing my work and preventing me from removing it via the Windows control panel.
