I can't play my burned purchased CD's

I have purchased over 60 songs from iTunes and I can't burn any of them. It shows them as burning and I can play it on my computer but I can't play it on any other CD playing device. I tried burning CD's with songs that weren't downloaded and it won't work. Please Help!!
  Windows XP

When we burned a CD it showed the progress, but then when we looked at it in windows explorer it went straight to iTunes and it showed it was playing but there was no sound.

  • Can't play my non purchased MP3s

I can not play or burn my imported MP3s in iTunes. Purchased titles do work though. Using latest versions of iTunes.
When I try to burn I get the message that the MP3s are not activated for this computer. But my computer is activated for playing purchased songs (and purchased songs do work).
How do I get my non-purchased, old, self generated MP3s activated again???

  • Disabled account so now I can't play the music purchased on that account

My dad got a virus on his computer so Apple disabled his account. I bought hundreds of dollars worth of music on his account. I bought a new MacBook Pro and loaded my music onto the new computer, but when I try to play the music I bought on his account it tells me to authorize the computer using his account. I try to do that, but it says his account is disabled and I can't authorize the computer on his account. I authorized it using my account, but I still can't play the music purchased on his account from a different computer.

Why did Apple disable the iTunes Store account? Did you ask them to do it?
You must have asked them to do so as they would have no way of doing this automatically because your PC had a virus.
If the account has been disabled how do you then expect to be able to log in to it?
Purchases are made by a specific account, so it makes sense that your account will not let you play the music it did not purchase.
Ask Apple to enable the account, as I can see no reason for it to be disabled at all. Unless you can provide a more meaningful explanation as to why and how it was disabled.

  • Can't Play Songs I Purchased

    Hi guys,
A long time ago I purchased songs on iTunes with an old Apple ID. Then I bought a new computer, transferred the songs I purchased and I was able to play them (I don't know what I did because I already had my new apple ID at this time). I recently formatted my laptop, put my music back and when I try to listen to my songs I purchased a while ago, a window pops up asking me to identify myself. The problem is it shows my old Apple ID that does not exist anymore. I click "Forgot Password" then it takes me to the Apple website, says that this Apple ID expired and ask me to put the new one. I do, it works. But back into iTunes, I still can't play those songs cause it will ask me to authorize my computer to play them, again.
    What can I do?
    May thanks in advance!
    Vinny.

  • Can't play iTunes songs purchased on my old computer

I moved all my files from my old laptop (before it crashed) onto an external HD, then moved all the files onto my new computer (iMac) but now I can't play the old songs I purchased when I had my old computer. I can't authorize them because my old email / Apple ID is invalid. These files were purchased 6 years ago, so is there any way I can fix this? I tried answering the security question for "Forgot Password" using my old email from 2004, but it's not working. I even tried using my old password (had it written down) but it's not recognized, so the files are useless at this point.
I tried researching the Support pages, but couldn't find anything.. Help?

That email address which you no longer use, was it created as an Apple ID?
    Yes? Great
Know/Remember the password for that Apple iD?
    Yes? Great
Goto Appleid.apple.com - Manage - Sign In - Edit Old Email Apple ID to New Valid Email - Save - You get to keep your purchases. [Unless you already created a whole new Apple ID with the most recent Valid Email address... At bottom of reply.]
Old unavailable Email created as an Apple ID?
No, Sorry unable to merge purchases - those will be gone
    Yes To Apple iD?
    Great
Know/Remember the password for that apple ID?
No, hmmm a few things - however still not a gaurantee
1 - Reset Password at My Apple ID [Appleid.apple.com]
Reset Password - Found under Manage
Chose either [Email Authentication OR Secureity Questions]
[Email Authentication will only work IF you had/have a recovery email set up - Other wise hope you remember the answers to your questions]
2 - Contact AppleCare Account Secureity via Expresslane.apple.com
Note: Hope you can Verify your information - As only way to have password reset
Not able to Verify Information? Sorry purchases are now no longer available.
    And ajnother Note:
If you have already went and create a New Apple ID with your most recent Valid Email Address - you are not at all completely out of luck [Unless you are unable to reset your password for the Original Apple iD then you are.]
But can create another [Valid/bogus] email from a free domain.
Once get password reset for Old un-available Email Address Apple ID
Then you first want to edit the New Apple ID with the other new email
This frees up the email you want to use for your apple id
Sign into Older Apple ID edit with email you want to use.
    Hope this information helps you!

  • Help!!!!! I can't play my burned CD's on my car stereo

I have a 1998 Buick Century and I can't play any of my iTunes cd's in the CD player. is this because the CD player is old and doesn't recognize the format? any input is appreciated

Many older CD players cannot handle a burned CD at all, so you may not be able to get it to work. But make sure you're burning the disk as an audio CD and that you're using CD-R disks, not CD-RW.
    Good luck.

  • Can I play all previously purchased items from iTunes?

Can I purchase TV shows as with the original ATV for $1.99?
Can I play all content from iTunes including my own homes videos?
Will previously purchased TV shows play on the new ATV.
I have a large collection of TV shows downloaded from the Travel Channel, History Channel and others TV episodes like that... will I be able to view them?
    Thanks, Harold

You cannot purchase shows through the ATV2 as you could with the original ATV. But you can still purchase them on your computer and watch them through the ATV2. All of my old content (except HD movie extras) works on the new ATV and well as the old ATV.

  • How can I play music I purchased with another apple id

My AppleID has always been my email address.  I had to change it about a year ago and now I can't access anything I purchased from the iTunes store with that ID.  How do I get my music I paid for?

  • I can't play a burned cd in my car stereo

Help!  I am unable to play a burned cd in my car stereo with the latest update to itunes.  Any suggestions?

I don't know where I would find the file to be dragged. Nothing appears when I insert the disc into the tray, except a window saying that Quicktime isn't installed, which is not true and never was. Quicktime 7 is there.
The instructions that came with the cd-rom also say to use a file on the disc (to install a QT-16 bit). If I could find any files from this disc, I'd do it.
Part of my problem is I've never played a cd-rom before and I don't know how. if there is a "how" to it, aside from inserting the disc. Actually the label beneath the tray says it's a dvd drive. Maybe I don't have a cd-rom drive. There is another tray above it, which I think is for playing cd's. When I put the cd-rom in the other tray, nothing happens. When I put it in the dvd tray, the computer hums and claims Quicktime isn't installed.
A bit long-winded but does it paint a picture?

  • Can't play CDs burn from PC

Hello I got some CDs from my friends who use Microsoft. I can't play those CDs in my "white Macbook".
What should I do to play those CDs?

I assume the problem occurs in Music Player, in which case you need to refresh the music library - I think the key sequence is something like:
Options .. Music Library .. Options .. Refresh Music Library
The music library doesn't refresh automatically - which is just as well as it would make opening the Music Player REALLY slow.

  • Can't play video burned on PC

My son created a slideshow with audio and graphics on his PC, but I can't play it on my Mac. I have QuickTime 7.6 plus Flip4Mac WMV 2.2.1 but I can't figure out how to play the video. When I try to open the DVD, all I get are 4 folders named EXT, MPEG2, PICTURES, SEGMENT and SVCD.
    Suggestions? Thank you.

If it is a SCVD or VCD:
VCD is a low cost way of putting what starts as OK videos into a really mediocre 320X240 MPEG-1 format to fit a CD and is VERY popular for Karaoke, and SVCD is a way of putting DVD quality (sort of) MPEG-2 on a CD instead of a DVD:
Put the CD in your computer.
    Open the CD in finder.
Look for the largest file in one of the folders - for VCD it is called AVSEQ01.DAT.
For SVCD it is called AVSEQ01.mpg
Rename it whatever you like with an extension of .mpg (not DAT).
Play in MPEG Streamclip or VLC or even Quicktime if it is a VCD as that is only MPEG-1 which works. To play MPEG-2 from a SVCD you need to pay for the Apple MPEG-2 codec or use VLC instead.

  • I can't play music burned as CD.fpbf

Recently, my computer started using burn folders, including when I try to burn music CDs. The problem is, I can't get these CDs to play in my car or anywhere outside of my computer. I'm not even sure how to benefit from burn folders and at this point, it's just annoying. Is there a way to change the file format?

Hello Nghab and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
In order to correctly format a CD read the following. Use iTunes to burn audio CD's in order to burn to the correct format.
To make your own CD, you need:
A disc drive that can burn CDs
    A blank CD
An iTunes playlist containing the songs you want on the CD
    To create an audio CD:
Choose iTunes > Preferences, click Advanced, and click Burning.
Select Audio CD as the Disc Format.
To have all the songs on the CD play at the same volume, select Use Sound Check.
    Click OK.
Select the playlist containing the songs you want to burn to the CD, and make sure all the songs you want to include on the CD have a checkmark beside them.
Click Burn CD (at the bottom of the iTunes window) and insert a blank disk.
If the playlist contains more songs than will fit on the CD, iTunes burns only the number of songs that fit on one disc, and then asks you to insert another disc to continue burning the remaining songs.
If the playlist includes Audible spoken programs with chapter markers, the chapters are burned as separate tracks.
It might take several minutes to burn an audio CD. You can cancel the burn by clicking the X next to the progress bar (but if you're using a CD-R disc, you won't be able to use it again).
If the playlist contains songs purchased from the iTunes Store, you can burn the playlist to a CD up to seven times.
    Hope this helps,
    Carolyn
PS... your car stereo .. check your auto manual to see if it only reads MP3 format. If so, read the following:
You can use iTunes to create CDs of music in MP3 format; the songs sound as good on the CD as they do in iTunes. (MP3 is a high-quality, Internet-standard encoding method.) You can listen to MP3 CDs you create on special consumer CD players or on your computer.
Before you burn a CD, you need to create a playlist containing the songs you want on the CD. You can store more than 12 hours of music, or about 150 songs, on a 650 MB CD-R disc. (You can see the size of the selected playlist at the bottom of the iTunes window.) If you plan to play the CD only on your computer, you can use a CD-RW disc instead.
    To create an MP3 CD:
Choose iTunes > Preferences, click Advanced, and then click Burning.
Choose MP3 CD as the Disc Format, and then click OK.
Select the playlist containing the songs you want to burn to the CD, and make sure all the songs you want to include have a checkmark beside them.
Click the Burn MP3 CD button (at the bottom of the iTunes window).
Insert a blank disc and click Burn MP3 CD again.
If the playlist contains more songs than fit on a CD, iTunes burns only the number of songs that fit on one disc, and then asks you to insert another disc to continue burning the remaining songs.
If your playlist includes songs in formats other than MP3, such as songs purchased from the iTunes Store, they aren't burned to the CD.
Songs you download from the Internet may be of different quality because other encoding formats were used.

  • Can I play shows I purchased on my Apple TV on my mac?

I sometimes purchase my tv shows on my apple tv and then later want to watch them on my macbook air.  Why can't I do this? Aren't they all in the "cloud"?  If I haven't seen an episode yet and it isn't downloaded yet, why can't I see it on whatever device I want?  If this IS possible, will someone tell me how to do it?
On my laptop, the shows I've bought have a grey "download" button, but it doesn't click or do anything. I don't want to have to purchase an episode twice I've already bought because I am away from my apple TV!

Thats exactly it, i dont want to "stream" from the apple tv. I was curious if there was a feature to start playing something on the apple tv (in my bedroom) and then press a button and go into the other room and have it play on the mac on my desk without having to go and find where i was in the show film, i think it would be a good feature to be able to go back and forth and its certainly not a hardware restriciotn

  • Can't play PC burned MP3 discs w/out adding to library???

    This is really annoying me...
When I insert an audio cd, an mp3 cd burned with iTunes, or even music files burned as a data cd with iTunes, the disc shows up in my source list, and I can play it without having the songs added to my library.
When I'm done listening, I eject the CD, and it's as if it was never there.
My roommate has all these mp3 discs that he burned on his pc (I think as data discs) that do not show up on the source list.
I usually drag the disc icon to a new playlist in order to listen to it.
I turned off "copy files to iTunes music folder", because I don't want his files on my hard-drive.
But the file names still get added to my library and when I'm done listening I have to go in and delete them all - Major pain in the butt.
Is there a way around this?
Even if I have to use a different app to listen to his discs - that's fine.
I just want to be able to pop in his discs, listen to them, and then pop 'em out when I'm done, without them leaving any 'residue' on my Mac.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dennis

    Just downloaded & tested Audion.
