I can't post in the Mac 10.5 Leopard forum...

Hey, The Leopard Forum won't let me post any new topics. Does anyone no why this is?

When you don't see a Post New Topic link, chances you are looking at a Category page. At the top of that page is a box with "Forum / Category" in a grey bar & one or more items. These are links to actual forums. Clicking the one of the blue words will take you to a Forumpage where you will find the Post New Topic link near the top left of the page.

Much of what can't be done here is a limitation of the software Apple uses to run the Discussions (said software is from another company, not something written by Apple). As was announced on the main Discussions page a while back, Apple is working on an entirely new Support Communities that will take the place of the current Discussions and use much newer and presumably more capable software. While the precise features of the new Support Communities have not been announced, at least some things currently not possible here will probably be so in the new system.

Can't Post in the User Tips Library

Hello,
I just recently achieved Level 2 ranking status in the forums. For some weird reason, I can't post in the Tips Library. I click on 'Post New Topic', and it asks me to log in. I had already logged in, but I do it anyway. I type in my password, and click Log In. I am back in the Tips Library, and now logged in. When I click 'Post New Topic' again, it asks me to log in again, although I am already logged in! It is an endless circle.
I really want to contribute!

Accuracy. Before allowing a post to be considered a valid answer to a frequently asked question about using Macs, Apple wants to make sure it is actually a correct answer and an appropriate solution to whatever technical problem is being addressed.

Once the Hosts have approved a user contribution, it is removed from Contribution forum...

The approved posts are moved to the User Tips Library. In other words, you can't post there; the Hosts move your approved tip to that forum.
Read through the steps explained in the section titled "The Process" on both pages. It explains this in detail.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Why can't I access the Mac App Store anymore?

I want to upgrade my Mac Pro but I can no longer access the Mac App Store and don't know why.

Remember that Rosetta is not supported beyond 10.6.8. This means that if you use any PowerPC Apps, they will refuse to work.
My top six are:
Microsoft Office, including Word, 2004 or older
Photoshop CS2 or older
Apple Works 6
FileMaker Pro 6
Eudora 6
Quicken 2007 (unless you purchase and install the "Loin Compatible" update)

Well if there is a EFI block, then running a program in OS X isn't going to do a lick of good.
After all EFI was designed for Trusted Computing and Digital Rights Management, to act between the OS and hardware, can read drives, contact the Internet and everything.
Windows doesn't use EFI, will have UEFI in Windows 8 though.

Repeat run is possible only in the last executed period of relevant year which is not closed in AA and GL.

How can I go back into the Mac os snow leopard if I'm on windows 7 on my MacBook pro?

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit into my MacBook pro using Bootcamp, but I can't go back into the Mac OS Snow Leopard. Every time it starts up, it goes into Windows. Can someone please help me?

It's pretty well documented. Here's a Wikipedia article on the topic. Tons of other links to follow.
The drives themselves weren't damaged (by trying to do something like write to the drive's firmware), but the rootkit was installed on any computer you put a loaded disk in.
I had a couple of legally purchased CDs from that era, and they never played right. They would skip, stall and even spontaneously eject. And this was in various music CD players (home player, car), which the rootkit wasn't supposed to affect.

You are telling us you read and tried the normal methods?
Boot Camp or Taskbar. Option on restart. "x" on startup. And none of those work.

Can't print from Intel Mac w/Snow Leopard to HP 2600

Can't print from Intel Mac w/Snow Leopard to HP 2600. Upgraded from OS 10.4 and printer showed on printer list along with an Epson scanner. but continually shows printer as offline. I finally deleted the HP Color Laserjet 2600n from the printer list. When I attempted to re-install it, it doesn't find the printer at all. I haven't attempted to use the scanner. I also went to HP and downloaded the driver, no luck. I've restarted the computer multiple times, tried it with the printer on, and printer off, as well as pulled the usb cable in and out both ends. No error message on the printer display and it gpes through normal warmup until it shows the green light. I run software update and it shows no updates needed. Help!

When you press print the first window is pretty basic.
When you select print on that the next window should have an advanced option.
Click that and see if any of the options in the 3rd dropdown box allow you to specify the 'paper tray'.

In this new windaow, click "advanced", go to "paper type/quality" and choose " best" and a photo paper. Then you will be able to choose a paper source (photo tray).
Once you have these settings, under presets do "save as", and you can choose the preset instead of going to advanced.
If you have the latest software and drivers downloaded from HP, this will work.

I am trying to re-install the Mac OSX snow leopard onto an older I mac with a new hard drive. I run into the "select the disk "where you want to install Mac OSX but there is nothing in the window to select. Any advice?

After you install a new hard drive, you need to boot to another drive to initialize it to MAC OS Extended (journaled) format and create the partition(s) on the drive. You do this using Disk Utility. Otherwise, the mac operating install process doesn't see a formatted disk to install to.

Can someone answer this post in the Mac forum?

Good catch, I replied too it. Usually when I see post and it says they have a mac I just reply...
"This is itunes for windows, if your doing this on a mac you need to post in the itunes for mac forum for better help"
I do that because sometimes even tho it says mac there doing it on there PC or a friends PC.
