I can't put a single letter with a border around

Hello,
Why, in Pages 5 on mavericks, all the little text boxes (legends on graphics) are systematically replaced with a "+" and only reappeared if I extend the box very much to 2 ou 3 tilmes more ?
I use : text box, border line..... and select 0 pt for "text insertion", disposition (independent of the text... no body for the document).
Thanks
Pierre (France)
sorry for poor english

I currently have a lot of songs on my iPod, but there
is a song in my library that won't go onto my iPod.
It's called Molly (Madgroove's CircusJungle Mix), and
it's 7.2 MB. There's plenty of room for it on my
iPod, but whenever I hold it over the operations
list, it only allows the song to go into playlists.
Everything else just brings up a black circle with a
diagonal line through it. What could be the cause of
this, and what can I do about it, because it's
causing me a lot of frustration...
Have you upgraded your Shuffle in iTunes to firmware verison 1.1.5 yet? That MAY solve yor problem...

  • How do I print multiple (4) photos on one page with a border around each?

How do I print multiple photos on one page with a border around each? I've gone the contact sheet route and adjusted the number of columns but there's only outer margins and very little white space between the photos down the middle of the page.

    Ok, now I feel stupid! I always thought I was printing 6 x 4 but now I realise I can't have done!!
The photos that I used to print are approx. 5.2" x 4" (i.e. 4 fitted nicely on a page & I had to cut the boarder off).
I guess I just need to play with different sizes under the 'custom' option in order to get the biggest possible picture!
    Thanks for the help

  • Can you put back the letter index to make selection of the files easy?

I have well over 1000 pdf papers and it is tedious to scroll the list to find the right file to open.  The old versions had a column on the right with letters which act as an index, but with the recent upgrade or downgrade, that has somehow disappeared.
    Can you put it back?
    Thanks,
    Ziheng

Thanks for your feedback. We are working with our designers to work out a solution.
Meanwhile, please consider using Search on top of the file list to look for your documents. You can tap on the status bar to quickly navigate to the top, pull down the list to reveal the Search bar and type portions of your filename to search and open them.
    Thanks

  • How many song can you put on your ipod with 16 gb

how many song can you put on a 16 gb ipod

With overhead for the software, the 16GB Nano has 14.88GB useable. I have 1,968 songs on mine, using 9.5GB, leaving 5.4 free. Assuming that all 1,968 songs are approximately the same length and size (which of course they aren't ), that would leave me room for ~1,118 more songs for a total of 3,086 songs.

  • Can't rip one single CD with Asunder

    Hi.
I always ripped CDs with asunder since i use linux. With Arch, then with Gentoo but when i came back to Arch, recently i can't rip a damn CD with asunder. Depending on the CD it will stop at a certain percentage of progress and then, if i cancel it it freezes and i have to kill the process... The problem is that it can be hours like that it won't post an error, just stops.
I think i was able to do 1 or 2 CDs... But I tried with lots of them... It's not a anti-copy protection problem because discs i had ripped before (with asunder) and then i deleted now can't be ripped...
Does anybody have this problem too?
Edit: if you can recommend me any alternative which is GTK+ based and doesn't need GNOME dependencies (i use fluxbox, don't need that stuff), able to encode with FLAC and Lame (mp3), good CDDB support, you're welcome

    pacman -S rubyripper
This one can even encode to several formats as once.. has cue support, replaygain support, freedb support and is very secure... (meaning your rip will sound good, without glitches)

  • How can I print with black border around edge of image?

I'd like to add a black border around the edge of certain images I'm printing. I know it's fairly trivial in Lightroom, but I can't see where this option is in Aperture. Is this lacking in Aperture, or am I just missing it? Many thanks.
PS -- I'm aware there are some plug-ins that claim to do this, so if Aperture can't do this, please feel free to chime in with comments on the best plug-in for this task.

    Aperture BorderFX 1.1
Thanks, Rich. That's a good plug-in, and does cover what I need (with lots of other features, too). The problem, though, is it requires an export of the image, which I then have to either print from another application, or reimport to Aperture to print. I was hoping to find something that will either just apply the border to the print job, or that would serve as more of an Edit With . . . type of plug-in than an Export plug-in, so I can keep everything in one place. Thanks again.

  • Problem with white border around images

    Hey guys,
I'm new to the creative suite and have just finished running through all of the video tutorials, etc. I'm having a small problem which can be seen in the sample site I'm fooling around with here:
    http://www.andrewedunn.com/gsd/
I'd like to get rid of the small white border around the "GS" logo. It is an illustrator document.
Basically I put the letters in place, converted them to paths (so I can resize it) and dropped it in my GoLive document as a smart object.
A google such suggested rasterizing, but I couldn't get it to work after fooling with it a little bit.
Further, if I wanted to add a drop shadow to it, how can I do it so that it is transparent on top of the background images in golive? The one time I tried it, the drop shadow was placed on top of a white background.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Are your background images always going to be displayed left-aligned on a black background and always the same size, so that the left half of the logo will always be over the photo and the right half will always be over the black? Or will the size or placement of the photos vary?
Are all of the photographs in approximately the same moderate tonal range, or will some be bright and some dark?
If the background will be consistently as you show it, you should be able to anti-alias your logo against a medium gray on the left and black on the right for acceptable results. If the background is more varied, you are not going to get good results with either GIF or JPG format.
    See this related thread:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc38b6e/3
    > Further, if I wanted to add a drop shadow to it, how can I do it so that it is transparent on top of the background images in golive?
Only by exporting as a transparent PNG, but then older browers won't display it properly.
If you are really needing to have a logo that casts transparent drop shadows on top of a wide variety of images, you might consider going the Flash route, even though you aren't planning animation. Flash has very good transparency handling, and there are Flash player plugins that are compatible with browsers that won't display PNG images.

  • How to to print an .indd document with a border around the edge?

I have an Indesign document that I want to print with a slight border around the edge.
I print this after exporting it as a PDF.  But when I choose the various combinations of 'print printer's marks' in the export settings, none of them seem to work.
I want just a simple thin border line around the edge of the document to print.  I don't want the interior body to print (which it sometimes does).
I know this can be done, because on some of my .indd documents it works... but I can't figure out what I did to get it to print that way.
    HELP!
    and thanks....
    jn

Thanks... the visible guides setting change took away the purple interior rectangle.
But it still doesn't print the border outline.
Here in text form is a summary of the .indd file settings that does print a border correctly, as I like it to.
The relevant paragraph under Marks and Bleed has crop marks off... and document bleed settings on.
I wonder what I'm missing?  Sometimes I wished Adobe just used plain english... like 'print border outline of document'!
    Thanks!
    jn

  • Presenter 7: Can you Import a single WAV with Markers over multiple slides?

    Adobe Presenter 7.0.1.
The import audio allows you to import a WAV format file.  You should be able to use Markers in the WAV file and the Import will split the single WAV file at those markers to fit with the individual slides.
That was certainly the case in earlier versions according to some of the Forum posts, and the dialog box for Audio Import hints that it can be done because it says:
"Select the starting slide for the import..."
    Ignore Markers? (check box)
So the title, select the starting slide suggests that the import can be over more than one slide, and the Ignore Markers check box suggests that markers might be used somehow.
But it doesn't!  This would be great if it did.  Has anyone got this working?
What I have to do now is split the audio file up into individual files, one for each slide, and name them 01, 02, 03 and so on.  Then the import can be pointed to all the files and it puts one file on each slide for you.
Any help getting this working gratefully received.
    Colin Davis

I have upgraded to 7.0.2 but the result is the same, the audio is imported all onto a single slide.
Can I ask what audio application you are using to save the WAV file?  I am using Adobe Soundbooth and in that the markers are called "Flash Cue Points" (the menu is Edit, Marker, Flash Cue Point).  I am wondering if these are traditional WAV markers or something different.
My file definately has 11 of these markers and I have 12 slides in my PowerPoint. Whilst importing the audio I am selecting the first slide and "Ignore Markers" is definately not checked.

  • Using SQL DML INSERT how can I put a ref atrib with out a select

What i am trying to do is use the insert statment to insert into a object table that has an atribute that is scope to another table as a REF of that type.
    something like this:
    INSERT INTO TABLE_AAA (NAME, SOMETHING) VALUES ('AAA','BBB');
    SELECT REF(P),P.NAME FROM TABLE_AAA WHERE P.NAME='AAA';
IT GIVES ME THE REF THAT ARE 85 NUMBER AND LETTERS AND THE NAME=AAA
SO WITH THIS INFORMATION I COPY THE REF AND PUT IT IN TABLE_BBB AS:
    INSERT INTO TABLE_BBB (REF_TYPE_AAA, SOMETHING)
    VALUES(1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345,'QQQ');
THIS IS NOT WORKING I TRY DIFERENT THINGS, BUT NOTHING WORKS
WHAT I DONT WANT IS TO USE THE SELECT IN THE INSERT, I JUST WANT TO PUT THE VALUE OF THE REF IN THE INSERT.
WHAT FUNTION DO I NEED TO CAST OR CONVERT TO A REF DOES NUMBERS AND LETTERS THAT I HAVE, THAT I CAN USE A SIMPLE INSERT COMMAND.
THANK IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR KIND

    Hi,
Could you give structures of objects (tables/type objects)?
It may help to clarify your doubt.

In IBooks Author choose Share:Export... iBook. Drag the YourBook.ibooks file onto iTunes, maybe directly into the Books panel. Sync your iPad with the Mac, selecting YourBook in iTunes.

  • Trying to print to paper with a "border" around it

I have set up a document (letter) to print to the C7280 printer ( XP with word 2003) - 2 pages set up for duplex; 8 1/2"x11". I print to a plain piece of paper and the top margin is approximately 1 inch down, same on the bottom.
I now want to print to some "stationery". The front side of this paper has a 1 inch border all around. When I print to the "stationery"paper, the top margin drops down so it is now 2 inches from the top of the page. Consequently the bottom of the page now prints into the border.
Does the printer have something built in that makes it think that the bottom of the border is now the real top of the page.
I never exit word during this whole process; all I do is replace the paper.
Same thing happens with word 2007 and Vista.

I do not know of any settings that can be changed.  One thing I have done in similar situations is to cut a small strip from a Yellow Sticky pad and place this on what would be the top right edge of the printed page.  Remove after printing.  This might work for small quantities, it will not be a good solution if you are printing in quantity.
