I can't put music from my Ipod in the library

When I get my ipod I put the music from a file of my computer in the library in itunes...then I organize all the musci by artist, year,etc...and I did download all the music from library to my ipod....once I got the music in my ipod I eliminated all the music of the library because all the music already was in a file in my computer...the thing is that I want to put the music of my computer in the library of itunes because all the musci files are organized and I can't do it

Leave the music in iTunes.
I put the music from a file of my computer in the library in itunes...then I organize all the musci by artist, year, etc.
What do you mean you organized it? iTunes does all the for you.
Did you mess with the folders after you added to the iTunes library? If so, iTunes will lose track of it.
the thing is that I want to put the music of my computer in the library of itunes because all the musci files are organized
Then why did you delete all the music?

  • Is there a way to put music from an ipod into the music library?

I want to put music from an ipod into the music library. Is there a way of doing it because i dont know how?

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.  File>Transfer Purchases
Everything on your ipod should also be on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.

  • Can't get songs from my iPod into the library on my new mac

I recently had to get a new hard-drive on my dell laptop, and iTunes was uninstalled from the computer. When I re-installed iTunes, my iPod was not being recognized by the laptop, so none of my songs on my iPod were in the library anymore.
Now I have a new MacBook, and my iPod is being recognized, but I can't get most of my songs from my iPod into the library in iTunes.
I'm sure there is an easy solution, but I can't figure it out!
    Any help is much appreciated!!!

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Senuti Mac Only

iPodDisk PPC Mac Only (experimental version available for Intel Macs)
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • HT1473 how can i put music from my ipod to my new computer when my old computer died?

My old windows laptop died and can not get anything off it, I now have a new windows laptop and want to transfer the music from my iPod to my new laptop. How can I do this??

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.

  • IPOD 4GB can i copy music from one IPOD to the other

I have tried doing this but it comes up with your not authorised .

You can't copy directly from one iPod to another, the songs have to be transferred to iTunes first and your second iPod is updated from there. There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.

  • I had set up and Itunes account years ago....older Ipod.......old PC died....trying to access my old music library from my new PC after downloading software.   How do I find and access my library.  I can sink my music from my Ipod to the new PC and softwa

I am an older novice user. I gave my Itouch to my duaghter....and took her Ipod Classic 64.....have used and played the songs but not updated in a couple years. The laptop I set the account up from died and I downlowded the new 10.6 software onto this PC. /When i signed in to my account I cannot seem to find a place to find my old library.  I had more music and movies on the library than on the Ipod classic....was hoping to find it all before i sync up again.
Any tips on how to find or access the old library or did I lose it with the old laptop?  LOL...a confused oldie....would like tomove music to my Iphone once all is found and resumed.
Thanks in advance for any insight or suggetions.

The old iTunes library was lost with the old PC.  However, it all that music and content is still on your iPod there are many ways you can extract this content from the iPod and import it back into iTunes.
Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  It will recognize the iTunes library on the new PC as a new library.  If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library.  So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

I have an older iPod (5th gen, 30GB+video) that I had connected to my computer with iTunes.  That computer crashed and the only place my music is stored is on my iPod.  How do I move that music to the iTunes program (version 8) on my new computer.  When I connect my iPod to my new computer the music shows up in my iPod's music directory but I can't move it to the library.

    - iTunes purchases by maybe

    - For other music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • Can I put music from iPod Shuffle, synced to computer A, onto iPhone4, synced to computer B?

Can I put music from old iPod Shuffle, synced to computer A, onto new iPhone4, synced to computer B?  Both devices and both computers belong to me.  Computers are not on same LAN.

You can if the music was puchased with the same AppleID.
Synch the iPod Shuffle with computer B to get it's songs onto that computer.  Then resynch the iPhone4 to computer B.

Hi the question I have is. Can I put music from my IPad to my iPod?

Not directly no, you will need to sync it via your computer's iTunes. If they are iTunes purchases which are not yet on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to copy them over your computer via File > Transfer Purhcases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes on your computer)

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
    - Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
    - Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.
To move mdia to the new computer see:
