I can't put music on my new iPod Touch (4g) because my iMac is too outdated for the newest iTunes. Help?
I want to put music on my 'new' (Christmas 2012) iPod Touch 4g but iTunes won't let me. When I try to update iTunes it says my computer (OS X 10.5.8) is too outdated. Is there any way I can put music on my iPod without paying to update my iMac?
Try installing iTunes 10.6.3. If that doesn't work, you'll either have to upgrade the computer's OS(if possible) or redownload the music directly from the iTunes Store; in the case of content which didn't originally come from it, this requires signing up for iTunes Match.

How do I keep my music from my old 1st gen ipod mini when the computer that I originally loaded it with was stolen more than 5 years ago and transfer all the music onto my new ipod touch? My fear has always been that plugging my mini into another computer and attempting to download more music onto it or take what's on there off will end up erasing all of it because of file sharing regs. I would really prefer not to have to repurchase several hundred dollars of music as many of the original cd's that I used to download have been either lost or damaged over the years. Apps and many other purchases are tied to the iTunes Store account via which they were purchased. So if you buy the app, that app is tied to your iTunes Store account. Without that account information, the child could not update the app nor back it up.
I'd also suggest giving the child an iTunes gift card or gift certificate along with the iPod. If the child is too young to have and manage his or her own iTunes Store account, then his or her parent could set up an iTunes Store account to purchase the apps. That could be done with that gift card and not need a credit card. You can also gift specific apps, though again that would require the child or a parent to open an iTunes Store account through which to redeem the gift. For more information on gift options, see:

can any one help me....The problem is when i drag n drop downloaded apps from torrentz into itunes n syncronize it add those apps into my itouch ... but the message shown in my i touch is .. that application failed to install..
in the itunes those appliacations are unchecked automatically ... but i can install apps which are downloaded from the istore .... they are working properly

This method is exactly how I'm trying to get my music on my new iPod touch, it starts downloading but then stop and says unable to download at this time. What the **** is going on ?
Try going to Settings>Store and sign out and sign back in.
It also could be due to an Apple server problem. and yu will just have to wait and try again. -
