Some help would be most appreciated!!
thanx

Hi thomas-paton,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the most recent iTunes update. If you are having issues dragging individual files to your iPod nano when connected in iTunes, you may want to make sure that the "Manually manage music and videos" option is selected, as outlined in the following article:
Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support

  • Will apple refund my iPod nano even if there is nothing wrong with the battery?

    iPod nano 1st gen

One more guest ion guys what does the following part from the email from apple mean "Apple may charge you a diagnostic fee, including shipping charges, of no more than one hundred ($100) dollars US, plus applicable tax, if Apple inspects your product and determines based on the inspection that the product does not require service. If Apple determines, while inspecting your product, that service is needed due to the failure of parts that are neither supplied by Apple nor Apple-branded, Apple may return the product to you without servicing it, and may charge you the diagnostic fee plus applicable sales tax. " isn't this saying that if there is nothing wrong they will charge me and they wont give me a new iPod!?

  • How do i get podcasts onto my ipod shuffle?

How do i get podcasts onto my ipod shuffle???

    Hey wolfpro55,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
To copy audiobooks or podcasts to the iPod shuffle, it must be configured to manually manage music. Once configured, you can drag and drop different podcasts/playlists to the iPod shuffle.
Fore more information, see this resource:
iPod shuffle: Playing audiobooks and podcasts
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1831
The Autofill feature of iTunes will not add audiobooks and podcasts to any iPod model. They can be manually added by dragging them to the iPod shuffle in iTunes.
For iPod shuffle (3rd generation), you must enable Manually manage music in the Summary tab to drag songs to iPod shuffle. Additionally, you can automatically sync audiobooks using the Music tab and sync podcasts using the Podcasts tab in iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I Can't Put Songs Onto My iPod Touch!

whenever i go onto iTunes and try to put songs onto my iPod using the click and drag method i get this message - 'the iPod "George's iPod" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to'. What can i do? Please, anyone, even a guess will do...
By the way i have the latest version of iTunes and the latest system thing on my Touch.

I have seen this article listed on many requests for help. I have tried these fixes but the iTouch will get about 200 songs into the sync and then will give the same message. I have successfully synced the iTouch to my laptop (Vista system)but that is not the primary computer for the touch. Are there any other ideas/solutions?

  • In iTunes I can't drag and drop podcasts onto my iPod anymore.

In iTunes I can't drag and drop podcasts onto my iPod anymore. I can still drag and drop songs onto my iPod and I can still drag and drop podcasts into other playlists. I've tried restarting my computer and my iPod and I've also checked for software updates for the iPod and iTunes. Help?

Update: I seem to have fixed the problem!  I went to the "summary" section of my iPod after clicking on the device on the left side of iTunes.  I checked the box that allowed me to "manually manage music and videos" and applied this option.  The songs are syncing!  And, yay, they're playing on my iPod now!  Hopefully, this helps anyone else who might have this problem.  There might be other issues, but this is working for now.

  • I had rented some movies, put them onto my Ipod, watched them but now they will not delete from my list and also have expired I want to deleat them, what should I do?

I had rented some movies on Itunes put them onto my Ipod classic, after I had watched them although they had expired they did not delete form the rentals list and almost one year later they are still there. The movies can not be watched and I have tried every thing I can think of, other than restoring the software ( that will probably be the answer ) What should I do?

That is stealing. Your friend has no right/licence to give the songs to you. It violates copyright law.

  • Putting songs onto my iPod, but when I go to play them, they aren't there.

Recently I've been having problems putting songs onto my iPod Touch. I'll put the songs onto my iPod through iTunes, and it shows that they are on my iPod and everything is legit, but when I leave and go to play them on my iPod, the songs aren't there and nowhere to be found. When I plug my iPod back into iTunes and view all of my music, it shows that the songs are on my iPod, however, when I double-click them, and exclamation mark pops up beside the name and they don't play. This doesn't happen with every song I put on, just select ones, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • How do i take a playlist from my itunes, and put it onto my ipod with the newest itunes?

How do i take a playlist from my itunes, and put it onto my ipod with the new itunes?

For music that you've purchased from Apple that are on your iPhone you should be able to copy to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. Also if you are in the US then you should be able to re-download past music purchases for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
For your own music that you've copied, then if you haven't got a backup on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs then you could see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work

  • HT1473 I have an audio mp3 (it's a lecture, not copyrighted). It's in my itunes now but I can't get it onto my iPod nano. I have a mac.

I have gotten an mp3 of a lecture into my itunes but can't get it onto my ipod nano. I'm on a mac. How do I do this?

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,
    Nathan

  • I can't download WMA onto my iPOD nano

How do I transfer, from OverDrive Media Console, WMA audio books onto my iPOD nano?

If you are running windows 8 like I am then here is how I solved my headache....(after 8 months of trying everything short of shooting my computer!!)... download the desktop version of overdrive media console (not the omc for windows 8--it only does mp3)..then set ipod compatability for windows 7.  It also helped to set the spoken voice audio to podcast...sped things up alot.  I got rid of my omc for windows 8....too many headaches.  Also, make sure you are running the latest version of itunes and overdrive.  hope this helps.

  • Can I sort my Podcasts on my IPOD, NANO by episode from oldest to newest and if so how?

I have an Apple, IPOD, NANO, purchased in 2009:
Problem: I would like to have a Podcast Playlist sort podcast episodes from oldest to newest broadcast date; I have done so on my P.C. based ITunes player and have synced same to my IPOD NANO; however, when I do so the podcasts on my IPOD NANO are not sorted from oldest to newest; rather, from newest to oldest.
Question Summary: Can I sort my Podcasts on my IPOD, NANO by episode from oldest to newest and if so how?
    Thanks / Ed

You can try changing the the password for your iCloud account that may work.
Otherwise you will have to get him to sign out of Messages by go to Settings>Messages>Send and receive and tap your Apple ID and then tap signout.

  • I used to be able to download temple run onto my iPod 2nd generation. I then had to restore the iPod but now I can't re-download temple run onto it. It says you need a higher ios number. Is there anything I can do to get it back?

I used to be able to download temple run onto my iPod 2nd generation. I then had to restore the iPod but now I can't re-download temple run onto it. It says you need a higher ios number. This is the same with many other apps as well and not just temple run. Is there anything I can do to get them back?

So, you need an older version of the iOS app, because the current version no longer works on your iPod touch.
If you do regular backups of your hard drive (as you should), such as by using Apple's built-in Time Machine (if you use a Mac), you may find the older version of the app in the backup archive, and restore it (replacing the newer version).  They are stored in the iTunes Media folder, in the Mobile Applications sub-folder.  You should then be able to sync the older version to your iPod touch.
I can't think of any other way to get it back...
NOTE:  An 2nd gen iPod touch can run up to iOS 4.2.1.  If your iPod touch is running something earlier, and that is why the app no longer works, you can also consider updating the iPod's iOS.
I use an even older iPhone (original).  I avoid this potential problem by aways updating its apps on the iPhone, not in iTunes on the computer.  When I do it on the iPhone, it will not download a newer version of an app that won't run on my old iPhone.

  • Can you download music straight onto your ipod nano 7th generation without the use of a computer?

so can you download music straight onto an ipod nano without having to sync to a computer, i'm just wondering because my dad wants an ipod but just for music so there's no point him getting an ipod touch, and he doesn't own a computer so he wouldn't be able to sync. he doesn't live with me also so it would be a pain if he had to use my computer every time he wanted to add music to his ipod.
    thankssss

No. Sorry. The only way to transfer the music to your ipod is through syncing in iTunes. Cheers!

  • Putting pics on my ipod nano (2nd gen)

How do you put pics on your iPod nano?

Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
On a small device like the 2GB Nano I would tend to leave the "Include Full Resolution photos" box unchecked as these will take up a lot of space on the iPod and are only useful if you want to copy photos from one computer to another. iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view.
You can also have a look at the tutorial which you'll find on this page:
