I can't put videos on ipod 30g

Hello:
I have an ipod 30g but I can't transfer videos from my computer to the ipot only the videos that I buy from itunes, and I bought the quick time 7 pro to convert my videos but it dosen't work or maybe I don't know how to do it, can any one help me with that?
Thanks

As Jeff pointed out, the Videora iPod Converter (free) is a Windows specific application that you should probably install if for no other reason that to convert "muxed" (single audio/video stream multimedia) formats. However, since you have already paid for QT Pro, I don't suggest you simply toss it away. While QT Pro is very slow when using the dedicated "Movie to iPod (320x240)" export option, it can also be used with the "Movie to MPEG4" manual preset collection to enter settings which can be much faster. In addition, QT Pro employs a gernerally "tight" compression strategy which may come in handy with some movie content. Basically, different converters work somewhat differently and sometimes one works better than another with a particular movie or if a single application is used, will need to be "tweaked" to operate at its best. So it is always a good idea to have more than one converter available if needed. After a fair amount of use you will likely gravitate to one application for general use based on the file types you use most often and their content.

  • Can't put videos on ipod

i have bought a ipod video 30gb. but when i try to copy any videos into my ipod. there is a message that is doesn't works. at this site they say that i have to convert my video with iTunes. and when i do this, i can copy the video into my ipod, but there is no sound. what is wrong?
    thank you

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.

Not true...you can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit.
A device is an iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac or windows PC
    Again, false...devices are NOT computers.

  • Can't put photos on ipod video 60gig

I have a 60 Gig ipod, Vista OS, since updating to vista64 i can no longer add any photos to my ipod. i had to restore it at the same time and since can't upload any photos at all. says it is syncing for hours or days if i would leave it on that long, but no photos uploaded. I am assuming this is a vista issue but not sure. Is there a way around this problem? Everything else syncs up nicely including games, videos, music, audio books.... just not photos.
Any suggestions? or when will this be updated on itunes?

Vista has to be the biggest pile of monkey crap since, well, monkey crap existed!
It has made it virtually impossible to use any USB devices without first going through hours of internet investigations. I started installing on Thursday evening around 9 PM and am still having problems almost 72 hours later!
Yes, my Ipod took hours to be recognized, it kept asking me to install a driver over and over again, it continuously stays on DO NOT DISCONNECT and it will not allow photos to be put into the ipod. I am sure this is not an Apple issue so won't even try to pass the blame on to them. It is a MICROCRAP issue and needs to be pointed out to other life-long microcrap users.
I am one of thos long time users that due to these ongoing vista issues am strongly pondering switching to Apple!

  • Very upset that I can not put videos on my 5g 60gb ipod

I paid near $600 for a 5g 60gb ipod of which does not come with any software to help one transfer video to the ipod. Apple expects me to use itunes to surf to their website to pay and d/l music videos for $1.99 or movie trailers.
but what if I have a large collection of dvd movies? well apples answer is to cough up $20 for quicktime pro which claims it can do this, help encode movie files for playback on ipod. To make matters worse you ahve to pay another $20 for the mpeg encoder so you can actually encode vob files into .mp4 format.
I admit I paid a bit more for my 5g because i know the issue apple has had with poor batteries so i got a warranty plan. Well for $500 apple will just screw you beccause you have to cough up another $40 for software that claims it can help encode for playback in the ipod, but the truth it the software hangs at 100% and fails to finish.
please explain to me why I have to pay $40 more for something that does not work and which should come included with the ipod 5g 60gb for $500.
I'm looking for a 1 click solution to convert my dvd movies collection into a playable format which i can upload to my ipod with 0 problems from start to end.

I've spent weeks now trying to take a dvd movie I have and putting it on a .mp4 file format and i'm having lousy luck with it. I've tried videora v2.0 and more than half the time the application hangs/crashes when it gets to the end. Also tried imtoo mpeg encoder and imtoo psp video converter and both of these apps will hang when it reaches the end of the movie and it does this randomly. Once in a while the mentioned apps will 100% convert the movie.
When I bought my 5g ipod it was made clear it could play digital video but apple misleads you because they make it sound like, after paying $500 you would have the tools to do it with included for the price. Even after I shelled out extra money for quicktime pro 7 and the mpeg encoder, it still fails. So far 4 apps can not seem to do the job. Its really a hit or miss if it actually converts a file. Thus far I've managed to convert only 3 movies out of 2 dozen dvd movies I've tried, and I experimented on 3 machines to just be sure.
I am not going to pay extra money to send away my ipod to have movies put on it that I already own, thats not a solution. your solution is to throw more money at the problem to fix it when in fact apple needs to seriously rethink about the blunder they have made and correct the problem.
first apple, needs to bundle/add software which can do the job, ie. quicktime pro with the mpeg encoder. This is their answer to the question people are asking "how to put dvd movies on my ipod". Next they need to have real support for the problem. Myself and my friend have been fighting with apple support for the past few weeks in trying to find a working solution to get dvd movies onto my ipod.
Using itunes to download movie trailers to my ipod is not the same as having a real movie. I find no interest in the poor selection of music videos either. I have my own collection. I just want to use what I have.
I find it dishonorable and a disgusting tactic by part of apple to sell a product for $500 that won't even let you take a dvd movie from your collection and enable you to put it on the ipod. I agree there does not seem to be an easy solution to the problem (I've tried other video app solutions which all fail) however I dont see apple making any real efforts and or documenting the issue.
its like when I first bought my 1g ipod and the battery failed after 1 month, it went from 8 hours of use down to 30min and when I called apple for help they said I had to send it in to be replaced for the price of a new one!!!!! and that is a very real fact!!! So now it sound like I should return my ipod, and buy a new ipod thru some website which will preload it with dvd movies. please, gimme a break. if they can do it then why not just document the process to do this and make the software available for owener of 5g ipods so they can in fact put video on their ipod.
now I have a 5g ipod, battery seems fine thus far but there really is no way to put the video one has collected on it, none what so ever and apples solution is buy their software which fails to work too!!!!
for some reason every aplication I've tried seems to hang when it gets to the end of the movie or its some other problem that leads to a dead end.

  • How can I put video into my ipod

Please tell me how can I put the videos in my ipod by using itunes? I try to put the DVD but it didnt appeare in my itunes. I cant add the video to my library

Would you happen to know what format the Music Video is that you are trying to import? iTunes can only support a few kinds: MPEG, MPEG-4, and MOV.
Make sure you are converting the file to an iTunes compatible format.
If it is a WMV or AVI, it will probably not work. In this case, find a third-party program to convert these files for you. Search Google for free options.

  • I use a video camera to film stuff and can't put video on my iPod touch.

    Hi,
I use a video camera to film stuff... and can't put the filming on my ipod touch...Is their any way of being able to put it in my ipod touch?
    Thanks

did you already add the movie to your iTunes library and does is play in iTunes ?
if so, in iTunes, click on the file once to highlight it and, from the advanced menu, choose +create iPod or iPhone version+. try syncing the newly created file to your Touch.
    does that work ?
