I can't re-enable the save and quit option when i close a window

When you close a window, there appears a window containing the options: Save and close, close without saving and cancel, and a box that says do not ask again. Well, a friend checked this last option by accident and now every time I close when I open again I see the same pages where I was before closing. My question is: Is there any way to re-enable the option to exit without saving?

In the [[Location bar autocomplete|Location bar]], type '''about:config''' and press Enter . The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise! , to continue to the about:config page.

What happened with the "save and quit" option when closing multiple tabs?!

I loved this little function and now it is gone?! If there is no way to get it back I will either go back to mozilla 3.6 or turn to other browsers.... Very dissapointed!

Firefox 4 automatically saves your session when you close Firefox, but it doesn't automatically restore that session the next you open Firefox. You can use '''Restore Previous Session''' on the about:home page or in the History menu item.
To make Firefox 4 work like Firefox 3.6 in that regard:

When I quit Firefox 3 I'd get an option to "Save and Quit" (which was extremely helpful). Now that I've upgraded to Firefox 4 and quit I can't seem to save my webpages. Is there a way I can get the "Save and Quit" option back?

In Firefox 3.6.10 there is a save and quit option when I shut down two opentabs, how do I get this in firefox 4.0.1?

When closing Firefox version 3.6.10 with two or more tabs open I am asked 'Do you want Firefox to save your tabs for the next time it starts?' I then have the option to 'Save & Quit', 'Quit' or 'Cancel'. This does not seem to be available in Firefox 4.0.1. Is there any way I can get this option in Firefox 4.0.1?
If not it looks like I shall have to continue with 3.6.10

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:

anyway, reading this thread I think I can give you better pointers for troubleshooting than on my blog.
Please run a
dmsetup ls
once you're in the installer (thats for me to verify)
now, next, it seems all that is missing is the multipath config file in the install initrd.
If the target linux mpath (if it still exists, i don't got time for testing) is selected, then multipathd will be launched - but without a config, the internal defaults will take over, meaning you end up with the user friendly name instead of the WWN.
Basically you should be able to find the error looking at the kickstart /etc/rc and restarting multipath with new configs over and over.
Might be fun :)
It would be helpful if Oracle picked up your fixes even w/o a support contract. :)
(ranting: It'll be a festival for me when the multipath tools devs finally get around to groking the world of real sans and create a plugin api for enclosure based naming that is just 10% as good as the one in VxVM. WWIDs are a sad joke, they're intended so the OS can identify the disks well so it can present userful names to the user.
Not to let the user choose between useless udev-names and non-human-readable WWNs. And yeah, I have tried to make udev scripts for enclosure based naming. Didn't go well obviously :)

The save and quit function doesn't work in firefox 4

The quit and save button on exit doesn't come up. I always liked that function.

There were some changes in Firefox 4 default settings for some of the warning messages. You can set this hidden pref to what you want, to give the warning when closing multiple Tabs.

I just tried the 'group tabs' function but when I close a window and open a new one, the last page I viewed opens every single time. I can't remove or ignore the group tabs function and it automatically opens with it. How can I stop this?

Before I attempted using the 'groups tab' function for the first time, there was no icon (unlike currently). There is now the icon with for the function yet I am unable to remove it or its function.

Try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder and desktop shortcut before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

I had several web pages open for downloading. I had to re-start my pc for another reason, so when I closed down, firefox gave me the option of "save & quit." But when the pc restarted, none of the web pages were opened.

Sorry, going to create a "new" account using the same username (email address) deleted your data from the Sync servers the same as if you had requested a new Password.
My advice is to ask a Mac-owner friend for help by the friend connecting that external drive to their Mac and accessing your Time Machine backups and then copying that data to a USB Flash stick. Either all your backup data, which you can pick thru; or have the friend look specifically for your Firefox bookmark related files.

Why can I not select the transparency flattener preset option when exporting to a pdf?

Hi all,
I have not had to use this option in quite a while so may have forgotten a few things.
In InDesign, under Edit>Transparency Flattener Presets, I have created a new preset and included the option of converting all text to outlines.
However, when I try to export to a PDF, the option to select a transparency flattener preset is greyed out.
Can you tell me what I may be doing wrong? This is driving me crazy!:(
(There was originally no transparency in the file, so I created some with a white square set to 0.5% opacity).

HELP! How come I can't 'save and quit' any longer with this new ver of Firefox? Does anyone know how to fix this?

When I updated Firefox I have now discovered I can no longer action the 'save and quit' function when closing down Firefox! Is this a common problem and more to the point is there a solution to this?? ie, change settings or some form of patch??
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this function WAS awesome when needing certain tabs kept open.

I understand the design change to the whole "save as app" tab, but I feel that Save and Quit feature from the previous version of Firefox is much better than this "app tab" feature. Is there anyway for me to have this back?

Restore previous session button available on my Firefox homepage is great, but what I really want is the Save and Quit feature. I have always felt that its one of the best features of Firefox, second only to search address bar directly leading me to the actual page. I read some threads about this, and found the answers very unconvincing. One of the suggested ones was "Pin as app tab" . No, I don't want to pin every tab that I want to visit say, thrice as an app. Second suggestion was, click on the obvious button on the homepage to restore the tabs(this took me quite a while to actually see). Why this change in design? This is identical to Chrome's but its very inferior to what Firefox already had. Is there anyway, without downgrading of course, I can get that feature back?

Okay, I found the answer myself. Going to about:config and setting browser.showQuitWarning to true, restored that option and brought it back. Thanks to anyone who is about to post. If this is false by default, it has got to change.
