I can't re-install iTunes 6.0 - Please help!

I un-installed (successfully) the horrible iTunes 7. I'm tryingto re-stall iTunes 6.0 from the link.
I get an error message "A Later Version of iTunes is already installed." Cannot continue.
I restarted my PC. No Luck.
Any Suggestions PLEASE!!!

There are threads already in both the itunes windows and itunes mac forums about how to un-install and re-install 6.0.5 including a link on where to download the older version. The windows thread is titled "How to revert back to itunes 6.05",
Windows:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=642274&tstart=15
Mac:

For windows, I followed the instructions and it worked out great. I was even able to keep the firmware at 1.2.

What happens when you try to redeem it ? Are you getting any error messages ?
Depending upon what the problem is, if this page doesn't help then you will need to try contacting iTunes Support (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes

i have just installed iOS7 and i can't connect to the itunes store. Please help.

    Hi P.Rose,
If you're unable to connect to the iTunes Store, try these steps:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

Be sure to start your iMac using its original grey System Install DVD: Insert that disc and start your Mac while holding the d key. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen select Disk Utility and format the hard disk. Select "Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)".
    Then, install OS X.

  • Can't sign into iTunes - luddite newbie - please help!

    Hi,
Just bought an iPod touch refurb, 3G but I haven't upgraded the OS system to 10.5 from the pre-installed 3.1.3 if I'm not misunderstanding things.
I'm running an iMac (2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo) purchased approx Nov 2007 running OS 10.4.11. I've upgraded my iTunes to the 9.2.1 release, set up an Apple ID and when I try to sign in to iTunes I get told the ID hasn't been used on iTunes yet (this much I knew already), I then get asked to review my account details before I'm almost immediately told "Your session has timed out. Try again."
I've done a search for fixes, but if I'm honest, most of it is beyond me technically. Can anyone help please?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Kev

    Call off the dogs!
I used my iPod to sign into iTunes, which then allowed me to create the iTunes account properly, then, hey presto, I was able to sign in to the iTunes store on the mac!

  • Need help installing iTunes 6.0, please help!

When I'm downloading iTunes 6.0, it says to launch iTunes Setup Assistant. No one will help me, everyone answers other people's posts. Where is the iTunes Setup Assistant? This would help me so much, thanks for your time.

when you download the upgrade it will ask you where you want to put it. Select desktop which will cause the itunes setup icon to appear on your desktop. Double click it and it should install into your original itunes folders

wifi is wifi, and business hub means very little.. this is area for time capsule discussion.. but the standard measures apply.
    1. Set wireless name (SSID) to a name that is short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Eg your Business Hub call wireless BH. There is no need for names longer than that.
    2. Set wireless channel for 2.4ghz to 11 or 6 or 1. Please test in that order. In Eurozone you can add 13 or use it instead of 11. They are the only 3 non-overlapping channels.
    3. Use no security to test.. of course this is unsafe long term.. so this is to test for a few minutes only.
The only security that should be used with N wireless is WPA2 TKIP-AES .. it can be named several different things ie in Apple routers it is WPA2 personal. Use a passkey of 10-20 characters.. more if you are paranoid, mix of upper and lower case + numerics.. so pure alphanumeric.
    4. If it fails set the mode to G wireless. It is more consistent standard.
If it still fails buy an Apple router and use that as WAP.

Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.

Sounds like the CD drive died. Luckily they cost next to nothing to replace. Or get an external LaCie instead. I have a dual G4 1.25 and the CD drive was always so anemic I use a LaCie Porsche with it.
